Have preordered your Xillia 2 Collector's Edition already?
I have two CE's preorder. I want to be extra sure I get mine. And I think I'll keep both of them, because I love to collect Tales stuff. Already have japanese Famitsu DX Edition's of both Xillias.
Also, Xillia 2 is amazing. Sure, it reuses a lot of areas and things like that from Xillia 1, but character episodes and side content is amazing. Overall this is a lot better game than it's predecessor.
>I haven't played a Tales game ever
I've always had an interest in them, but whenever i'm choosing between a Tales and another game I also want I inevitably opt for the other. I don't know why i do it either.
Hope yall niggas have a graces save file on that hard drive.
I never played Vesperia since no suxbox. Graces was fun as hell at first, but I was completely annoyed and sick of the combat by the end that I stopped using hard mode and upgrading weapons and ending up trying to cheese through the end just to be over with it.
How is Xilia? I got it during a PSN sale just to play it eventually but i've heard alot of shit about it so idk if I want to start it and get annoyed about doing a whole lot of nothing endlessly.
I find thats how most tales games make me feel. Fun at first but they just keep going on and on with all kinds of needless story required side tracking like the cannons and shit in Graces.
I have standard edition pre-ordered because the last time I got the collector's edition of a game the contents were meh and the game was meh.
Can't wait to Henshin and kickass as Ludger
My friend who has been playing Tales games nonstop all year preordered and got free one day shipping by complaining to Amazon while faking an accent.
Then he cancelled the preorder when he found out how overpowered Ludger apparently is and how easy infinites are.
This guy sometimes.
>reviewer didn't mention how the debt system slows down the whole game unnecessarily
>didn't mention how there is LESS freedom in your party until NG+
>mention slightly how the new orb system is a HUGE step down from the original
He was lenient, if anything. Xillia 2 is pretty bad.
He also didn't mention how you can only change your party inside towns.
Which was a batshit retarded decision from bamco, because if I go to a dungeon and I decide that I want to play with someone that isn't in the current party I have to go back all the fucking way out of the dungeon to get him inside the party.
At least the game has fast travel, but it doesn't make it any less of an annoyance.
Xillia 2 is like a 7/10 game at best. Or a 7/10 rehash.
>Tons of re-used assests
>One flaw lowers a score out of 10 by two points
I know, know, >IGN, but Jesus Christ.
If you're going to play it, you'll find out.
It's literally a BIG BIG step down from the original xillia, and I can't grasp what the hell was in their heads when they made that.
Xillia could've been great, but all the bad decisions that surrounded stopped it from being just a mediocre rehash.
Nigga the game has much more flaws, read >>258255124 and >>258255367
Plus how even the fucking soundtrack is rehashed, and the only good track they inserted were re-arranges of some from vesperia PS3 like Fury sparks arrangement.
>thinking a game is doomed just because it didn't get a 9 out of 10
Yep, destroy Vesperia. The story was an absolute mess and the combat took forever to get anywhere near good (and even then it would be my least favorite Tales this gen combat-wise if Xillia 1 didn't exist). The production values and characters were top-notch but I play Tales games for the battles and the story.
>all these faggots trashing xillia 2
Don't say anything until you play side quests, especially character episodes. These alone make this game worth playing.
No, we're trashing xillia 2 because it's shit and a huge step down from the first one. We're all in agreement that Xillia 2 is a rehash and nobody should pay full price for it.
>playing tales for the story
That aside, no. Like every tales game it takes until end game until you're able to use the combat more freely. The amount of content, interesting content, trashes both xillias combined, and the game actually have an acceptable story on top of all the content you can do.
And for vesperia PS3 you don't even need NG+ to get the combat moving, by the end game you'll have everything you need and the extra dungeon will get you to level 200 easily.
Hearts R is probably the only that you mentioned that topped vesperia combat/story wise, and it also gets awhile to progress (around end game) and story also tops it. Though, a given, vespie destroys it content-wise.
Played all of those you mentioned, by the way.
You mean those boring as fuck fetch quests that literally NO ONE wants to do?
You mean those shitty uninteresting episodes about characters you probably don't care about, and said episodes are used to cover up how the main plot doesn't give any attention AT ALL to any other character besides Ludger and Elle?
Those you do to get rehashed costumes from xillia 1 with some shitty color variations?
Do you intend to play with Elize in Xillia 2?
Because I hope, if you're not maining Ludger in Tales of Ludger and Elle, you're not playing it correctly
How is that a bait, dear friend?
The only cool side stuff to do in xillia 2 was the giganto hunting, which was also the best way to get money to pay that shitty debt that stops you from progressing the game.
Xillia 2 is a mediocre game of an already abortion that was the first xillia.
>Same combat system
>skill system is shittier
>shitty debt system you have to pay or else you can't progress
>forced to do sidequests to pay shitty debt
Xillia 2 is complete shit.
What is the deal with naming off the main cast of Abyss and their personalities on the back of that sign in Nordopolica in Vesperia?
If it's nothing more than a reference then it's pretty weak.
I've already beat the game, and I thought it was an alright sequel.
The big problem with xillia 2 was, if you didn't like the cast from xillia 1 this game won't help convincing you of otherwise.
So you have people like this >>258258429
ToX2 didn't beat vesperia, that's for sure though.
No. I don't really want to play it, I hated Graces a lot. Though this doesn't look as bad as it.
I miss the more chibi 3D graphics Tales of Symphonia, Abyss and Vesperia had. I think they looked nicer than Xillia.
A sequel game set a year later would in all likelihood have the same character with the same techniques being set in the same world with similar combat mechanics wouldn't it? Yes the over reliance on old areas is a bummer, but there are new things in the game. That the point I'm trying to make.
>muh vesperia ps3
Why these faggots never give up?
Why don't they just make another game like Symphonia and Vesperia? Nobody really likes these linear dlcfests with minimal content, right? The visuals were nice , but Xillia had some of the worst decisions and mechanics I've ever seen in an rpg. This whole gen was lacking in good adventure jrpgs.
There's no real way to fuck up. If you get to level 99 then you should have unlocked the whole orb.
You should prioritize Artes though and personally after artes I went for SP/Skills.
This is why no one should make a Tales thread in the daytime.
DLC is one of the big reasons I don't like Tales anymore. Now they just sell the costumes for $3-5 each instead of them just being in the game like standard.
I know Vesperia had DLC costumes, but it atleast still had the usual amount already in the game so the DLC ones really were extra.
If you think it has as much content as you'd expect from a sequel with so much reused content, you're in for disappointment.
I liked xillia 2 anyway though, but there's a reason why both xillias were so hated by the japanese fanbase.
I love how Vesperia is praised here all the time and everyone's so butthurt about it (that it's not localized on PS3). I finished it (X360 version) and it was good but not something you need to praise as the best games in the series.
>Vesperia showed signs the series was going to be more mature
>Graces, the next game, is pure baby friendship shit
I want to play it but nothing compares to the original. Not even the original.
Symphonia was the first Tales game I had ever played. I saw it at K-Mart on sale for 20 bucks, but was weary, because I had never heard of the Tales series before. So I head to Game Crazy and see it cheaper, so I consider it fate and pick it up.
I was 16 at the time and I didn't have a lot of games so this one was played a lot. The moment I got home from school I would do my homework and head upstairs to play some Symphonia. I would spend no less than 2 hours on it at a time, sometimes up to 5 or 6. It was just me, a Gamecube, and Symphonia.
And I look back on the grand adventure I had with Lloyd and pals. And I just can't seem to recreate that experience. I know why, and it sucks.
Even with Vesperia, as great as that game is, I just can't get into it, or any game for that matter, like I did Symphonia, those many years ago.
This is what happens when fujoshits get too much power in popularity polls.
>Not really true.
My fucking sides. If you lurk any RPG general in japanese boards, praising the xillias causes a shitstorm of trolls, and if you look at amazon.co.jp you can see how pleased most of the fanbase were with both games.
From 2011 shitstorm that was xillia 1's release to 2012, every tales general/thread in futaba/2ch was nothing but hate.
Sorry to tell you that.
But everything in it was done on such a grand scale, from the world map, to the story, artes, and graphics. This game defined the series.
It is true what they say when the series turned to shit afterwords. It's not even a case of them trying to best themselves and failing, because first you actually have to try.
Japan in charge of shit taste once again. Not really surprising though.
I know this question probably gets asked a lot like with Metal Gear but where do I start if I want to get into Tales?
I have PS2, PS3 ,360, Wii, and a shitty PC that can emulate PSX games and below
pls no bully
Because we're like Leon in DC. We're trapped and we have to deal with the path we chose.
But seriously, it's because we still hoped xillia 2 would fix the problems in xillia 1, but it didn't do that without inserting a bunch of problems on its own.
I'm still buying zestiria after a price drop though, just not day 1
Enjoy wasting $60 on complete garbage. When you inevitably make a thread on /v/ complaining about how this game is trash i will be there to laugh in your retarded fucking face.
Here's the Tales Tier list if you want to take a look at it.
>main character transforms into edgy black thing
>story is about protecting some loli
not even going to try it
>whole fanbase displeased because the games once again wasn't a step in the right direction
Don't really care if you believe me matey, but you're an idiot if you think people who played literally all games of the series, that is the japanese fanbase, are pleased with the games coming out recently.
It's not like what I'm saying is hard to believe, just look at vesperiafags. The only difference is that the japanese fanbase has rebirthfags/destinyfags who are also annoying as fuck.
Eternia was still better. As far as the supposed drop in quality, I think that has to do with the fact that Vesperia perfected a style (Symphonia), whereas every game after that has been a combination of teams experimenting and trying to find there next mainstay formula.
The one thing vesperia had going for it was not having many flaws that plagued so many games of the series while delivering a huge amount of interesting content to do.
That's pretty much why it's praised. Even xillia 2, a fucking sequel, feels barebones next to vespie.
>>main character transforms into edgy black thing
do you not know what Kamen Rider is?
or what Henshin is?
The story isn't about protecting her, though. But she tags along and it's not like MC's gonna let her die mate.
Ignore him he's a faggot that doesn't know shit about justice.
Seems like the games reception is about 50/50 from both camps. Guess ill give it a whirl. You guys said Graces was bad and it was okay, so this has to be at least decent.
Tell me one tales game with the same amount of content vesperia has while keeping all top notch production qualities and combat.
If they kept the trend with vesperia maybe these fags would shut up, but now bamco just throws you some barebones shit and expects you to buy all the DLC.
At least the code geass DLC costumes were pretty neat.
You Vesperia fags aren't even funny anymore. Just stop.
The thing about Vesperia PS3 is that Bamco knew that fans would be pissed about it since a lot of them had bought a 360 specifically for Vesperia which as we know the Japs really wanted nothing to do with. They had to really double down on making it superior in order to try and win the fans back.
What is all this extra content that Vesperia has anyways? Two extra characters and a bonus dungeon?
That's because bamco lost all its shame in its pandering to fujos. Ludger is probably the biggest and most shameless fujobait in the series.
When I saw him cooking with a fucking apron I literally lost my shit, so yeah.
I'm a destiny/rebirth fag. Nice reply by the way.
Yes, but the translation looks awkward as fuck, but gameplay wise it's pretty good.
None of those have the same amount of content as vesperia PS3 matey. Doesn't mean they are better games.
Played all of them, including both versions of hearts, and R doesn't have anything close to the production value of vesperia, so no.
Start with Symphonia, because it's battle system is like the basis for other games to come. That means simple and easy to master.
If you like Symphonia then play Vesperia next. After Vesperia go for Eternia.
You should eventually play Eternia and PS1 remake of Phantasia but I recommend these last because anymore, you may only like them if you are familiar with the series already.
Play Abyss any time after Symphonia but at your own risk, because I know you will like Symphonia and Vesperia but you may not like Abyss. It's characters are dysfunctional and the the overworld is laggy, and the loading times are not so great.
Innocence is good too, and for a DS game it is pretty impressive, but like Eternia and Phantasia, you may only like it if you are used to the franchise.
Never play Tempest. It is the sole reasoning for Namco creating the term escort title so that people understand that this is not a main title in the series.
>not importing and playing tales in glorious nipponese
I haven't played a tales game in english in 7 years or so, how's the quality of those dubs anyway.
Did they improve?
>No it's not,
Nah, hearts actually deserves god tier. If it wasn't for the random encounters it would be above that.
I agree putting vesperia PS3 on god tier.
Yeah but Hearts R isn't even out yet in the US or EU, and the only fan translation of the DS version is still in the making.
So Hearts R is only at the top, because some dude heard Baba say it was his favorite, or they played the Jap version and has that opinion of the game. Even if you know the language and can read Japanese, your experience would be in it's purist form, because you aren't playing it in your native language, and even if you don't agree with that, everyone else will.
Vesperiafags are so fucking annoying and Im saying that as someone who have played the ps3 version and consider it the 2nd best in the series and own figure of Estelle and Rita.
Import the game and stop crying already. Its been like 5 years give up already.
It isnt fully translated yet. Theyre basing it on a trailers frim a couple months ago that had some lines awkwardly translated and no after battle quotes. It has been confirmed that the post battle quotes will be translated, and the full translation has at least one more qc check before the November release.
>tfw Abyss had lodesofcontent and even had extra stuff added in the english version that wasnt in the original jap game
>tfw all anyone ever talks about is muh insufferable Luke
Half the new content in Vesperia PS3 was shit that was cut from the 360 version anyways.
>Even if you know the language and can read Japanese, your experience would be in it's purist form, because you aren't playing it in your native language
I hope you don't actually believe this
Hearts DS also has a translation script m8, although no skits.
Also they put the Hearts DS fan translation on "hold"(aka canceled) since R got announced.
There is literally NO reason people shouldn't have played all of the main Tales games by now unless you didn't want to shell out some shekels for a 360.
>above average game
You thinking those 3 words mean something shows how retarded you are.
For having very few flaws as a tales game, and you'd have to nitpick hard. The combat is great and every character is a viable main, including Kohak that is a healer who kicks ass in the literal sense.
From likeable characters, to an actual nice story too. Playing both versions of Hearts would be cool since some really good scenes got replaced on R for some more shallow ones.
R still got some good added scenes though.
Vesperia is the reason why I hate these threads. You can't even talk about other games without Vesperia babbys getting mad.
>Yuri no where to be seen
>Flynn higher then Guy
No, this is not OK.
Though, I'm surprised how high Raven is.
unlike Vesperia Symphonia actually had a good story instead of a disjointed mess that felt like three completely different plotlines slapped together and its battle system was pretty progressive for its time
And amount of content be damned. Team Symphonia sidequests are the absolute worst, and despite the amount of content, I've had more fun with Tales games with significantly LESS content. The amount of content doesn't matter if its foundation is one of the weaker ones in the series.
Can you people shut up about Vesperia already?
We get it, it's a good game (I finished the game too) but it's getting annoying when almost every post is about Vesperia.
>Vesperia is the best tales of game
>Tales of ... is trash compared to Vesperia
>tfw no Vesperia PS3 localization
It's what happens when you get spoiled by playing actual good games.
If only bamco started putting out some quality releases. It's not like xillia 2 was entirely bad, it just was a very bad for a sequel. It's still what xillia 1 should have been.
>Vesperia babies will never know about the true best game in the series Destiny remake.
How can anyone like Xilia compared to older games. I played 6 hours or so of couch co-op with a friend game seemed fine at first main character was fist fighter which was cool. The lead woman looks retarded though and going from place to place is literally like straightline corriders. Then when we got our 4th party member the fucking fps is battles dropped dramatically. I'd honestly say it was the worst tales game I've ever played.
>TFW only one who really like graces
My nigga. The cast is honestly underappreciated, and I kind of want to see either it or Legendia, or maybe Rebirth get an HD rerelease with added content
The Team Destiny games are genuinely better than the majority of the Team Symphonia ones
(yes, even Graces. Say what you will about friendship but structurally its story was more sound than Vesperia's narrative and Graces ran with cliches from the beginning, instead of winding up a disappointing mess than embraced the same cliches it attempted to avoid for much of the game).
If people want to play it that bad they should just buy a used X360 and the game or import it ffs.
Every Tales thread is the same, people praising Vesperia or complaining that Vesperia isn't localized for PS3.
So, what tales game is everyone currently playing?
I'm playing desiny remake and just got control of the "ship"
I have Xillia 2 preordered, and I'm gonna enjoy it. Because I more or less like silent protagonists, because I have a weakness for protecting little girls (and not to fuck them), because I like overpowered main characters, and because after reading >>258258631 I had to go see the skill system and having to fight to learn techniques is something that I love.
Let the vesperia fags cry some more.
This nigga knows what's up, and we'll never have a tales like it again. HD version also never.
Got nothing to play until Zestie comes out. For tales at least
>>258266372 here. You aren't.
People treat it like it's some kind of mythical, forbidden experience forged by the gods themselves. In truth it's an average Tales game that winds up being somewhat middling due to its fantastic characters and production values and less-than-stellar story and combat (even by the series' standards).
>why can't they just fucking localise it
Because business-wise it doesn't make a whole bunch of sense, especially after all this time has passed since its initial release.
Same here, also going to enjoy it tons because webm related.
Well as you can see they won't localize it. The game was released in 2008 or 2009. It's already been 5-6 years. If you want to play it that badly then you'll just have to deal with it. I mean you people praise it as the best game in Tales series.
I love Yakuza series but you don't see me getting all butthurt over it in every thread that they won't localize 5 or Ishin (because I already imported them).
Hell no. Why would I preorder that shit?
I finally caved in and bought Vesperia because it never fucking lowered below 30 dollars.
It's really fun, considering the last game I played in the series was Abyss, it feels like a walk in the park to get through.
As the guy who's been posting vesperia screencaps I can say, vesperia is a good tales game but not worth crying over. Besides, if you really wanted to play you'd have learned Japanese years ago.
2009-2014 you'd already be fluent. I learned the language when I was like 14 though.
Yakuza Ishin is pretty dope by the way.
Reminder to buy Hearts R so we also have a chance at getting Innocence R.
Bamco said if it "sold well", but just saying, they usually have unrealistic expectations when it comes to sales.
Talking from experience. I'd say buy it if you want, just don't believe their lies.
But pal...you need to rest, you can't finish Xillia, then play Rebirth non stop and then start playing Xillia 2 without getting mentally tired!
Is not just 2 days, is more! Finishing one tales, playing another one, then playing another one is something for at least a week! He needs to rest!
what are the Tales jp only?
This game is due for another remake.
>People say 2 fixed everything
They're dirty liars. For every two things it fixed from Xillia it added three new problems.
It "fixed" while presenting new problems, so take from that what you will.
Post your tales games. I'm curious to see how many people have actually played PS3 Vesperia
He went back to his home planet.
Back then when PSN allowed more then one user to use an account me and 4 other guys all put money into that account and brought all the costume for Xillia.
Can't be assed taking a picture, but the only ones I actually own are Abyss 3DS, Symphonia, Symphonia 2, Xillia and Graces. Xillia 2 and Hearts R will join the collection too.
>Destiny 2 and Rebirth
Which one is better?
Playing ToV for the first time, i am not enjoying this adventure through Heracles.
> visit Tales of thread
> played ToP for the SNES
> figure why the fuck not
> v recommends Abyss and Symphonia
> play Abyss
> image related
> broest of the fucking bros
> that fucking airship theme
thanks v, great game
It's probably an assblasted destiny/rebirth fag who can't take other people's opinions.
Saying this as one myself.
Too lazy to take a picture but I own...
>Destiny 2 JP
>Narikiri Dungeon 3
>Abyss PS2 JPN
>Abyss PS2 ENG
>Radiant Mythology JP
>Radiant Mythology ENG
>Destiny 2 JP PSP
>Dawn of the New World
>Narikiri Dungeon X
>Amazon won't ship it out until a week after release.
Preorder cancelled. I'd rather get it digitally and not have to pay as much while still getting it on release. Shit doesn't even have a Day 1 edition like Xillia did.
There is no need to be upset.
No, Amazon just doesn't like shipping Tales games out to where I live for some reason. Same shit happened with Graces.
I'll show you this instead.
What I physically own is:
The rest I played it on a emulator except Radiant Mythology 3, Phantasia, Eternia, Rebirth (Played on CFW PSP).
I played Hearts R on a jailbroken iPad
only one's I've got lying around
Also have ToS PS2, TotA PS2, Tales of Destiny PS2 as phisical copies at my parents place
Others I've played with roms
>all those bright colors
>dat pretty cel-shading
"Look at our pretty details and 'realism'!"
Zestiria looks like Xillia, and it doesn't even run on the same engine. C'mon, guys...
I'm here and in most tales threads, just decided to lurk this one.
I don't wave shit at people though.
>That feel when I finished the original Rebirth and Hearts in japanese, without speaking a word of it
I was fresh off Symphonia, I just wanted more Tales and those were what was available for me
I kinda want to buy a Vita for Hearts R but
>that feel when no money
>elder god tier
i still feel honored enough that someone would create a specific tier for me.
so thanks to whomever did that.
Well considering how much you love Legendia it was natural someone would make that.
I've just never been recognized for anything special like that before, even if it is anonymously, so it still gets to me whenever I see it.
I made two threads a couple of weeks ago, the first one failed by my stupidity of posting a Tales thread way too early. I was just excited to finally have all my collection with pictures to post. The second time was no better. I would rather start a fresh thread sometime in the coming days since I still have new merchandise coming in the mail that I will need to take pictures of.
Unless you just want me to show you a couple of things which I don't have any problem doing so. Anything particular?
Nah, I was just hoping somebody had some compilation of your posts. I was there when you first posted your collections ever. I saved a few of your pics for myself. I wanted to know if there was some compilation of your posts+reactions because it's really cool how dedicated you are to it. Also, because I wanted to prove to some people that you were a real person and not bullshit I was making up.
As someone who's only played Vesperia and Graces, sadly, I gotta ask; what would be the best for me to play next? My favorite parts of the games would have to be the sidequests and skits, if that narrows it down.
Though I didn't like Grace's skits
FOUR DAYS UNTIL mY NIGGA GAIUUUUUS OLEDOIT!!!!!!
So, who won the Yuri?
Please tell me they changed the english voice actor for Milla
As far as I'm concerned that one night I posted everything I had (at that moment) was never compiled. I do hope the next time I post my whole collection someone could kindly compile all of my images into one. I would definitely appreciate that.
Same here. My friends still think I'm a liar, I'm going to prove those jerks wrong.
You get a nice steel case and the costume codes.
I don't know about order and all that, but I really like Symphonia and Abyss.
I know that. Hearts R is the reason I got a Vita in the first place, still wouldn't hurt to have more Tales games though.
Plus I actually like Innocence's story. But I'm a sucker for reincarnation stories.
Would you mind telling me what pictures you were able to save from that previous thread? And what do your friends not believe you about an oddball collecting tons of Legendia items? ahaha.
nobody won the Yuribowl because there isn't any romance in vesperia.
Yuri x Judith
Estelle x Rita
Karol x Naan Bread
Flynn x Sodia
Patty x Adventure
Looks like Baba has finally seen how retarded Amuriturds are.
I have 12 Graces, 6 Xillia, and five Symphonia HD.
And yet they pale n comparison to my amount of Atelier saves.
Fair enough. I feel as though not many people saved my pics that night. I figured I would have seen plenty of them by now, but it's usually just the games and guides for some reason.
Just because really.
You can have the artbooks as well for good measure.
Not disputing the placement, but the details on the Vesperia one's pretty shitty. What are the "objectively positive steps forward" if you hated Graces and Xillia, but love Symphonia, Legendia, Abyss, and Vesperia?
I meant to save some of your stuff but I forgot like a dumbass.
like the lightswitch for one.
There's a point here where I think there are a bit too many. 1 I get it, you love the game and want to look at the cool pics. 2, you want to use one and keep the other sealed and mint. 3, maybe just to hold on to and sell? But I really question why you need to own so many. I can't even think of what I'd do with more than 3.
That's really cool.
You can save it now. Although, when the time does come for a new picture thread I would like to take a new one for the Lightswitch.
I've never been one to pass up a good deal so if I was able to find a artbook/guide for under $5 I wasn't going to let it go.
Gaius will never get that Leia pussy if he acts all cold hearted like that. You gotta be spontaneous like my bro Alvin.
>Gaius will never get that Leia pussy
why when he has better
No, you aren't. He grew on me near the end of the game.
Also his artes are probably the most stylish looking compared to every other protag in Tales, so that made him even more likable.
Use defend a lot, press back during it to backstep for dodging. Spam your arts as much as you can, usually using one 50+ times will make you able to learn a stronger version of it when you reach the right level.
Also when your character gets a title from doing stuff in plot or combat, change it on the status screen to get better stats from level ups. Each one gives different effects, green means more in whatever you have on, and red means less.
And switch playable characters if you feel like it, you can play as anyone you want so find out what you like.
>So, is Tales of Hearts out yet?
No not yet.
>Also, is Tales of Graces good?
It's kinda average not much else worth saying besides the combat system.
Hearts R isn't out till November.
Generally, Graces is considered to have one of the better battle systems, plot and characters not so much. Never know though, you might like it.
Tales of Symphonia Chronicles had dual audio and Hearts is JP voices only.
See, I would totally buy Symphonia chronicles, because I played the original on Gamecube and would love to hear the JP audio (though that's not to say the english audio was bad).
But I refuse to play it at 30 frames per second, holy shit Bamco, what the fuck were you thinking. even GC version was 60.
People who like Tales of Graces will generally agree that the combat is the only thing that really stands as being good, apart from one or two characters.
So play it for that at least, but keep in mind that there is scene skipping and holding down R1 while in the overworld will tell you what you should be doing next.
So wait, why does Japan hate the Xillia games again? The only other one I played was Symphonia ages ago, but the only problems I had with Xillia was that the second world felt really tacked on, and not a whole bunch of secrets and exploration.
Because a lack of content for an anniversary game, Xillia was promoted to be an anniversary game but it was subpar, not to mention the shitty boss mechanic.
Xillia 2 fix most of the problem.
Man, I hope Yoshito Higuchi will direct the next Tales game after Zestiria.
After he's done with helping Smash Bros Wii U development, he needs to go back directing another Tales quickly.
>sequel got same score as prequel
I liked xillia 2 but it could've been great if they didn't make such retarded decisions in its development.
But I do. Just that Xillia 2 gave a lot of step backwards while fixing the problems the first had. Though, that's pretty much what it means to have a similar score than the prequel in my opinion.
It did right on some points but wronged other points and made it fall on the same place.
Oh well, maybe Zestiria will impress us, but probably not.
You're gonna play Xillia 2 and you'll see the joke of that Allium orb is, the lack of party freedom, the debt system and all sort of shit decisions that just makes you ask "...why?"
The party change issue is damn right stupid. Even fucking Phantasia lets you change party order at ANY time.
Still, I'm going to give this a shot with the undub and all dem JP DLCs on co-op.
Yeah it's worth a shot, and xillia 2 would be great if bamco released it instead of that shit that was the first xillia.
But when you think of xillia 2 as a sequel? Then it all falls apart. Could've been done better if all they did was refrain from being retarded.
