I'm playing SH2, too. First time I've ever played Silent Hill. I'm currently in the Brookhaven Hospital Otherworld. I can only play it in 10 minute intervals, it's too spoopy.

I bought in when it was in beta for $40 but that being said:

I think it's one of the few games I would pay $60 for. The campaign is huge and finished at this point. There are several timed shooting range challenges, a huge VR style tutorial that runs through all the basics in a controlled enviroment, not to mention there are showcases which are like more in-depth how-to-play scenarios that show off infanty movement, SCUBA stuff, helicopters, etc.

And then you have ALL the shit in the Workshop.

I personally haven't messed around with the multiplayer because my friends are lame and won't get the game so I can't say much about that.

I'd say it's well worth it

There's also one that is static when you're moving, but only expands/contracts when you shoot. That's the one I'm using. Think you gotta get it from the console though.

TXAA a shit.

I turned it off right after reviewing my last set of screenshots. FXAA honestly looks better in this game, and I could barely notice a difference between it and 4xMSAA. The game takes a huge performance loss at 4xMSAA, also, so there's no fucking point.
