I hated playing it with the new graphics.
I dunno what about it exactly, but it felt floatier. Maybe the hitboxes felt less accurate? I know i had a much easier time beating the original version (which is included in the game).
But that did also come with SOTN, so yes it was a good port.

Clear answer, it's basically a ALTTP reimagining with all the "Sacred Realm" continuity shit from OOT and such to make it fit.
The Dark World from ALTTP was SUPPOSED to be the GoldenLand/SacredRealm before Ganon corrupted it, but in OOT they changed it to the Sacred realm where all the sages reside. They used that in ALBW instead of the Dark World and made Lorule Which is supposed to be a NEW WORLD, TOTALLY not the Dark World Look like the Dark World instead.

It's a Sequel in "marketing" and "lore", but in essence, it's a Reimagined Remake in the flesh of how ALTTP would've been made in the modern day.

Being Luigi was just suffering due to the shit he'd get which was undeserving as hell by that time, but being Wario just kinda makes you think about how his personality really is beyond just being a greedy fuck or being known as a mean guy and that he's not that terrible when he's not usually being his quick-tempered self. The WW games are kind of a hint towards this too somewhat due to the amount of friends he has, even if he did treat them wrong some times due to greed. They're still by his side for some reason besides that.

You should've mentioned Raiden in MGS4 as an example, but nothing in 2 or 3 compares to Snake backflipping off a rocket and kicking up a sniper rifle to 360 noscope Sniper Wolf. 3 had loads of random supernatural things, but that's the entire series. That said, Solid Snake and Big Boss stay relatively real compared to everyone else in the series, as they deal with the supernatural, but aren't supernatural themselves. Twin Snakes shits on this and is better taken as Otacon retelling MGS1.

ALBW is a sequel in terms of Story and the semantics, yes. But in mechanics, it's barely new. It's mostly a remake of the same world

Pokemon is clearly a new game Though I'll honestly say they all seem the mostly the same to me with all the new additions there to "hide" the fact it's the same thing. and Super Metroid is easily a sequel, it's set in the same world, but the whole layout is different and expanded upon, your arsenal is VASTLY improved upon and it's practically a new experience. Semantics obviously tell it's new, but ALBW in it's essense REALLY feels like they wanted to make a Sequel but they couldn't let go of the awesome Dark World of ALTTP, EVEN IF it'll throw a massive hole into their story with Lorule being IDENTICAL to the Dark world, which was GANON's VISION.

So, in the end, the Semantics are bullshit and nonsensical to the point.

Amzing fucking game. I don't care what /v thinks, they did this shit RIGHT. I played MGS1 first and loved it to death, and playing this as 14 year old anon, felt refreshing after playing the original to hell and back. Porting exclusives from Sony to Nintendo was rare back in these days, so I considered the MGS2 control option along with Krazy cutscenes to be the necessary flare to truly separate the game from it's PS1 Sony counterpart. Final Mix was in Japan for years. Just got HD upgraded and finally released internationally. So for anyone not in nippon who hasn't emulated it's a whole bunch of new content.

Developer often fuck up the remakes because they try to make them look better and show off how it looks better. Old games often have fog and really dark lightning in order to hide imperfections, low textures, bad models or even the complete lack of a model at all.
Those things then end up creating a certain atmosphere which the player may or may not like.
When they make a remake, the remove those curtains used to hide bad textures because now they have good ones, not realizing that the very same curtains that were hiding bad stuff were adding good stuff.
Which is the reason why you get shit like the Silent Hill remake.
