I hate the way they showcase the info they have. Images that can never be altered to forever float around the web and videos on YouTube which can't be edited either. On TCRF, it's all a wiki which can be easily edited if needs be.
I thought of this picture as soon as I saw OP.
Are you talking about file names? File names can be in any language. They don't have to be in English. They can be in Japanese whether that be as Romaji or Kanji and Kana. Look at the odd file called fRfs[ ' opening.bnr in the picture. The file name is actually in Japanese but the anon's computer doesn't have Japanese enabled on his computer.
Your new couldn't be more obvious. You should just leave.
Check out the cutting room floor link.
You use the numpad.
Looks like you can't play any other levels than the tutorial one.
I assume sound doesn't work at all because it isn't for me
You really couldn't be this dumb.
>There are strong indicators that PikiGame and sysCore.dll contain a complete level/cutscene/model editor for Pikmin, but they all seem to require this Age server. AgeServer() is an object that exists inside of the sysCore.dll, but more investigation is needed to see if it can be triggered without whatever the AtxServer is trying to connect to.
>There are strong indicators that PikiGame and sysCore.dll contain a complete level/cutscene/model editor for Pikmin
>One day a Pikmin level editor could be real
That's pretty fucking cool
>How do people find these things.
Basically what this anon said >>257811862 but there is more to it than that. You basically snoop around the files and file system and see if there is anything of interest whether that be files, strings or what have you. It helps to have played a game to death while snooping since you can tell what is and isn't used. I've done some fun stuff for TCRF.
Ayy lmao is an "ironic" meme which /sp/ and [s4s] stole from tumblr / reddit and use to derail threads, inevitably angering people like you who hate the meme. In that regard, think of it as this generation's version of "DESU," with the added benefit of being associated with one of 4chan's favorite boogeyman websites (therefore giving it even more ruse factor).
The problem is, it's currently going through the process every meme goes through where it gets parroted so many times as an obnoxious catchphrase that its context has been forgotten, and it's lost whatever tiny shred of self-awareness it once had. Now we're all just shamelessly using tumblr memes. Such funny much progressive wow.
It really is fun. People don't realize the amount of unused data that can be in video games. It paints a picture of what the game was going through during development. Plus when prototypes get leaked, it's fun to see the differences. I had fun when the Metroid Fusion Prototypes were leaked.
A year ago now. Where the fuck have you guys been? They are late prototypes. They are close to the final but not finished. They don't look like the early game trailers if that's what you are looking for. Metroid Zero Mission also had a prototype leaked but it hasn't been documented on TCRF. Haven't gotten around to it.
Old games use to have little computer files on them.
If you put the sega saturn game Dragon Force in your PC there is a txt file you can open with a bunch of lore and easter egg stuff on it. Pretty cool.
Nevermind, I'm a fucking idiot.
"who the fuck is gonna put this tiny ass cd in their pc" was pretty sound logic at the time
but this is THE FUTURE
the controls are weird, I'll tell you that much
feel like i should get a controller
You do realise that's something that only Windows executables have, yeah?
It's not an executable because it has .exe at the end, it's got .exe at the end because it's an executable and that's how you tell windows to run it as such.
>Move around with the numpad, throw Pikmin with the Spacebar, camera controls with the arrow keys
What the fuck? Was this made for people with 3 hands?
Probably made by the same ones that developed the N64 controller.
>Mfw you can probably run this on WINE
fuck I'm going to have to spend all night getting fucking PIKMIN working on my linux install now
DISCLAIMER: It's a debug tool used for debugging.
It has a shit ton of debug menu's, graphical bugs, and missing level parts.
If you want to play Pikmin on your PC get Dolphin and use the OpenGL setting.
Just so ya know.
If you put a dreamcast copy of SA2 in your PC you can get a bunch of desktop backgrounds and shit, I did it when I was younger.
Most dreamcast games will also play the OST in a CD player
Why don't modern console games do this? It would be fucking great to be able to watch all the MGS4 cutscenes on a blu-ray player, though I guess that would kinda have made getting a PS4 for the game worthless.
I know, but if you want to play PIKMIN PIKMIN and not DEBUG PIKMIN get dolphin. The emulator has gotten to a point in its dev process to where it can flawlessly run most games.
No doubt it will run Pikmin at full speed flawlessly.
Other than that go crazy. There's no sound though.
>It has a shit ton of debug menu's, graphical bugs, and missing level parts.
Yep. It's debugging stuff. I wouldn't use it to actually play the game. It just fun stuff to screw around with.
What is the possibility of modding this to make it a fully working PC port? Obviously the engine is already compatible with windows, it seems like with a few fixes the whole game could run on it.
I just wanted for someone to get a cheap laugh.
May or may not be possible, IDK. It depends on what needs fixing and the length needed to go and fix said things. I'd just play it in dolphin if you wanted to play it on a PC that badly.
What surprises me is how people took so long to learn how to open the executable, we could have had Gamecube emulation many years before if people had tried to see what that file really was
