>calling an NPC a "mob"
>calling your player character or avatar a "toon"
>calling a potion a "pot"
WHY DO PEOPLE DO ANY OF THESE THINGS!?
ya i think mob is for enemies like monsters or some shit. but calling friendly NPCs mobs sounds dumb.
I would do so much to/for/with Rita you have no idea.
I suspect this, but others say it goes back further.
I thought it was one of the retarded terms developed by the portion of the WoW player base that's made of baddies who don't play other games.
Like how they call a "pub" a "pug"
watch both of these videos and then kill yourself
>My character? I can't say that, I should shorten it
>Toon! Yeah, that doesn't sound bumfuck retarded at all!
I've never heard of pub used for a group either, started hearing pug with content finder type systems. Maybe hub? Those were places to meet new players to form up in older online games.
Ah, it's like how old timey English slang got started than
>slang for fist
>use an existing slang
>"knives and forks"
>use a different phrase that rhymes
>"the dukes of York"
>that's the new slang for fist
>"put up your dukes"
