I recommend Kid Icarus, Mario Kart 7 and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate perhaps.

I don't have a large collection of games myself but these are my favorites so far.

A new pokemon game is coming out in november so I'd wait if I were you. I kind of regret buying pokemon x knowing this. I also regret buying New! Super Mario Bros 2 for the record.

Smash and Fantasy Life both come out in october. Smash is a no brainer but I'd look into Fantasy Life. It looks like it's going to be good and I'm looking forward to the /v/ and /vg/ fantasy life threads.

Fire Emblem: Awakening is my favorite 3DS title so far. Shin Megami Tensei IV is really good too and so is Mario and Luigi: Dream Team. Pokemon X/Y are really good, but I've been sorta sick of Pokemon since gen IV, so I'd only get X/Y if you know you'd enjoy it.

Super Mario 3D World and New Super Mario Bros 2 are both really fun for platformers.

Donkey Country Returns is amazing. Way better than the Wii version. That would be one of the first 3DS games I'd get if I were you.

You already have A Link Between Worlds, which is a great game, probably my second favorite 3DS Title.

You could always get the remakes of Ocarina of Time and Starfox 64, which were great remakes.

Luigi's Mansion was really fun. A lot more to do than the GCN version and it's a nice change of pace.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf was the best Animal Crossing, imo.

I haven't played Kid Icarus: Uprising, but I've heard it's pretty good. It's like an on-the-rails shooter sort of from what I understand, and it looks pretty cool.

Mario Kart 7 is probably the best multiplayer game on the 3DS.

Monster Hunter is fucking awesome too.

Bravely Default is supposed to be really good, but I haven't played it.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some good games, but I'd definitely consider any of the games I listed, especially Fire Emblem, DK Country Returns, and Animal Crossing. You can always get old DS games and play them, too

Kirby 3D is a shorter Super Star.
Bravely Default is an easier FF5, but shorter in a way, with less characters.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate it's Monster Hunter 3 again but with more stuff, why complain.
Etrian Odyssey is old school SMT action, but reworked to be about character classes and dungeon exploration instead of demon negotiation and fusion. In Untold there are Grimoire stones, which do sort of the same things as Personas. Really neat.
SMT4 is casual mode Nocturne.
Persona Q is Etrian Odyssey but with a Persona skin.
Link Between Worlds is LttP with vastly improved physics and mechanics, but more linear dungeons and way easier. Hero Mode is the challenge you expect, and 3 heart hero will destroy you.
New Super Mario Bros for if you don't own a Mario Game.
Cave Story + is the Original but with + features, excluding the music.
Kid Icarus Uprising is half Starfox half third person action shooter game, and it has a lot of really cool features like a difficulty slider. Co trols are hard as shit to get used to, and I would recommend against playing it for too long at a time.
Mario Kart 7 isn't great, but Mario Kart DS is.

All 3DS's minus the few lucky ones have manufacturing flaw where the top bottom screen scratches the top while closed. It should come out of the box like that though go ask for a return/exchange. You can stop the scratches by putting those bumps at the bottom of a 360 or laptop on the 3DS or a cloth in between while closed

A Link Between Worlds was pretty much a LTTP remake before they made it an all new game. Too many hints have been dropped and the idea has caught too much attention and generated too much hype for it not to happen. And Grezzo was hiring to make a "legend."

I have to wonder if the MM remake is coming first and based on sales, if they may be considering a sequel or spiritual successor with a similar clock mechanic. Maybe making it a whole week like originally intended for MM.

Remakes are all the rage. And the heavy lifting is being done by Grezzo who already have the engine and a lot of the assets thanks to OOT3D.

Hope they add in a bit of the shadows that were in the MM concept art, but I dunno how that would mesh with the 3D aspect of the game or if they'd go in that direction. Given that an aim of the art direction in OOT3D was to more closely match the original, I can see them doing that.
