FOR 4 FUCKING HOURS I'VE BEEN RUNNING AROUND USE WOOD CHIPS AND YOU CONTINUE TO OFFER ME AQUA
I FUCKING HATE AQUA, I FUCKING HATE THIS GAME
Isn't it like based off your actual playstyle or something? Not elements etc, but whether you're full on offensive, or prone to using stuns etc.
I started with that ElecRing one; stun was great but damage was pitiful, and eventually ended up with wood (which, remember is SUPPOSED to be the defensive one, due to the shield). So maybe try using more chips that would fit a defensive playstyle?
>Playing BN3 for the first time
>mfw Electric Guts when the only enemies are ones that move too fast or attack when you're trying to machine gun
I did a shadowstyle playthrough recently. It looks cool, but it's pretty worthless except for the antidamage navicust program it gives.
Custom for life.
I never played BN3, how are styles different from Crosses in 6 or Souls in 4?
Styles are permanent until you fight a certain number of battles, then you can change it, or level it up. You don't have to spend a chip or anything, it's just on when you start the battle.
>not wrecking shit as WoodShield
>GrassStage as default chip
>mfw all this health
until the stage gets destroyed
Start from 1 and play until 6, don't let any faggots tell you that 1 is outdated or some shit.
The combat is hard to describe, you gotta play it. You won't regret it.
It's a grid based action RPG with a card-game element.
You move around on a 3x3 grid and your opponent(s) move in the same amount of space. You line yourself up with them to shoot or dodge attacks. You collect cards ("battle chips") in order to use far more powerful special attacks that all work in different ways.
>mfw I've played through BN3 like 4 times and have gotten aqua guts every time
I don't even know what other elements or styles there are, let alone what they do
More or less, yeah. You play as an elementary school kid named Lan, and Megaman.exe is your "Navi" or online avatar that you control to destroy viruses and other such shit.
The storyline seems to be aimed at younger audiences, but tge gameplay itself can be pretty fucking tough. MMBN2 probably has the most "adult" storyline, plus some swearing and some really funny racial stereotypes.
>wasting space in your NaviCust
Although I suppose you could run GrassStg in the NaviCust and also preseta GrassStg chip just in case you come across breakers and fire. Still, you shouldn't waste NaviCust space like that.
Only if they offered me to be Bass' NetOp.
I liked the thought of 6's enemies being sentient yet uncommunicative gods
then again it's often ranked that the "I just want to destroy shit" bad guys are shit but I liked its execution
You can access most, if not all of the content you can't get to in the GBA Versions in the DS Versions, provided you still have a DS Lite or Phat to put the GBA Games in the GBA slot.
F Code was popular because it was incredibly easy to stunlock navis with Plasma and Flashman chips. Add Ice Stage doing double damage to everything and F Code was in the running for the most powerful folder in the game. Shoutouts to P Code doing something similar.
>B and J folder
>Paralyze everything with ElecCross, use ProtomanSP/BlastmanSP
>Use DoublePoint + Bass, get my zone back with JudgeMan*/JudgeManSP
Audio version: http://a.pomf.se/chtnxo.webm
whoops, wrong source video.
I'm bored and too jittery atm to play vidya without fucking up so yes.
These are very quick to make, by the way. I'm making them faster than my post timer is counting down.
Never played BCC but I heard it was terrible
Last from that video. I'm going to go grab some food, if you want me to make more webms from different video's just give me a reply.
incidentally Bass' theme is edgy as fuck predictably. While all of the other Navis in 4.5 have remixed versions of their classic theme.
>First style change in BN3, before BubbleMan
Aqua's buster is ridiculously weak in exchange for the stupidly fast charge time in 2.
However in 3, it's got a slightly longer charge (I believe slightly faster than the normal buster) for a modestly high attack.
The only negative effect of merit is that the panel bonus for Aqua's buster is extremely limited (Double damage to enemies on Lava, which can only apply to heat element enemies as is)
>Use GrassStage and Undershirt
You're also missing Network Transmission. And Rockman EXE WS, and Rockman EXE 4.5.
Was there ever a full translation done of 4.5? I started playing it once but I am way too
Americanto deal with a partially-translated game.
>Roll enslaved all the viruses simply by being cute
Roll's tournament scenario is funny. Because Mayl joins the Eagle Tournament to prove that she doesn't need to be saved all the time and then immediately gets kidnapped and thrown into that weirdo's sex dungeon
>dying in regular boss fights
Anon please, the main challenge is S-ranking enemies. Invincibility does not tend to contribute towards that as you don't get to pick 10 chips with Shield style.
Why is Sol Cross Megaman so awesome
>super armor (which takes a shitload of space on the navicust)
>Gun Del Sol Charge shot
>kickass sun burning above you if you jack in outside
>Gun Del Sol Chips get a boost
>gradually rising attack power for chips due to the sun
>isn't annoying as fuck to get (just slot in Boktai 2) compared to Bass Cross, which requires a BN5 cart (ie: redundancy) that has all stars
Plus it looks cool as hell
Alright, last of this set. Not as good as last set of webms because this guy takes longer to think out his stuff, but still good.
Why are ocean panels so OP
>main feature is that non-aqua units have delayed movement, making it harder to avoid attacks
>Aqua element units can hide in ocean panels and be invincible to anything but elec element
>Elec attacks deal double damage
>Tornado doubles in strength
I think it drained heat element units health while they stood on it too.
How do all you faggors feel about the fanmade shit like Chrono X? I don't wanna replay my games until I have some people to play with, and all my friends are casual pace.
>youtube broke "Add To Favorites" with their latest update
It's eh as of the last version I played. I like the Memento system and it's great that the job board is back but the music is blegh and the first dungeon is asinine.
>Your health is constantly draining until you clear the vents
I enjoyed playing the demo, but I have to wonder why the first boss was harder than the second.
He had evil in his heart and evil must be punished
Going to go afk for a bit to do real life stuff then I'll do >>256829589
The combat system, and the trading card game-esque aspect. The combat was unique and something not found in most RPGs, and used a strange mixture of real-time and turn-based combat, with the weapons you used being a library of collectable "Battle Chips" which you could find as monster drops
Not to mention the overall theme was cool.
You fought viruses in a computer, come on.
The concept of a world run completely by videogames is funny.
>Our entire defense infrastructure has been hacked and we're not good enough at videogames to fight it
>Hey kid are you good at videogames?
>Well go retake that tank over there for us
One of the hard found improvements of 4 is that small rails could be traveled via 2radical4u skateboards
Your styles in BN2 and BN3 are all based on how often you use certain battle techniques. There's a hidden point value system, and when a Style Change occurs, the highest point value gives you a style.
Elements are randomized.
If you use your buster frequently in battle to finish off viruses, you will get Guts. If you don't want Guts, never use your buster.
If you use Navi chips frequently, you'll get Team.
If you use defensive and recovery chips, like Invis, Barrier, Guard, Recovery, Rockcube, and Rook, you'll get Shield.
If you select as many chips as possible, 3-5, per turn and per battle, and make use of the ADD function, you'll get Custom style.
If you use Invis, Shadow, and Anti-Damage, you'll get Shadow Style. (Blue Only)
If you use stage change chips, panel breaking chips, and Repair chips, you'll get Ground Style. (White Only)
Question: I've only played Battle Network 3 Blue, 5 Protoman, and 6 Falzar.
I was looking at gameplay vids of 4, and what the fuck is up with the translation or whatever? I spotted like 20+ grammar errors. Was the translation team half-dead at the time or something?
Not at all or just not the best ones?
Doing a NeoVariable Doube Lifesword and such was beyond me, but turning a Variable Sword into a long sword or a fighter sword wasn't too hard.
>really funny racial stereotypes
Hell yeah motherfucker
>Had no idea what the fuck i was doing as a kid with the program system
>End up with a buggy as fuck megaman that permanently has 1 health because i spammed dark chips like a faggot
>Mr. Match set fire to the entire internet, crippled SciLab, and laughed as Lan watched his father burn alive
>A few games later
>He's Lan's guidance counselor at school
U fucking w0t m8?
Totally worth it, it's few flaws are pretty much negligible.
>Energy Change program in the tree when you barely have fire chips at that point
But there plenty of spikeys to murder early on, you can buy fire chips from Higsby, and there those totem enemies too. But Iceball M was total bull.
Mr. Match was a dick but it did kind of bring a smile to my face knowing he became truly good as a teacher.
I don't know, whenever a villain reforms that sort of thing always manages to make me smile.
You had to one shot each statue. But only the silver ones. If you hit the black ones then you'd end up taking a hit in return. It got hard towards the end since they'd end up having 400 HP.
Elements are completely random and you cannot affect their outcome. You can only affect what Style you get.
Also ShieldStyle is the fucking best and i try to get it every time in 2 and 3
Ironically he's at his best with Heatman who looks like his most insane navi.
>has no beef with you and is an optional fight in 2
>is truly a good guy in 6
But yeah it's weird how he mostly gets off scott free when Count Zapp is still in prison for causing a power outage?
In the Blue Version they were pretty easy. Just use Lifesword and folderback. I also remember having to use Timebomb+ once, but that's still nothing special.
The only one that was really fucking had was the 650 hp one. It was pretty clear you had that you had to use something like heatspread, but getting them all 3 was the annoying part. Only far too late I realized you could just use Copy Damage.
>You will never get to delete Mr Progs out of their misery outside of BN1
Everyone won't shut the fuck up about a real life SAO (even though SAO seemed like a pretty bad MMORPG in-universe), but if anything I'm looking forward to some real-life netnavis. Even if they're just in your computer, it'd be cool if we could transfer them to websites, which would have a space built for them complete with winding pathways and viruses to fight. Obviously, we couldn't transfer them to all websites, but a website could have a notice that would let you know if it's "PET-compatible" and give you some sort of code to give to your NetNavi application that would allow your Navi to traverse the site.
>compression codes for customizer blocks
>special tools that let you use codes to bypass navicust errors involving block limitations
>alternatively, input special codes for more customizer abilities, often at the cost of glitches
Assuming you don't have an error that you need to bypass, you could give yourself some extra HP (going above +350 gives you glitches, you can go as high as +1000), Mega folder+, and other supplementary abilities and whatnot. I'm not sure if they can be neutralized with Bugstop though.
The worst part is that the last Standard Chip in the game is hidden behind the 650 HP one, so you can't just say "fuck it" and move on unless you get lucky as shit with the chip trader.
>not intentionally bugging Megaman in an effort to attain glorious power
The Statues in secret area were easy as shit.
Heat spread + grass stage + Prism
easy 1200. There's a reason Multiplayer turned into "Whoever presses A first wins" Because of shit like this
>The paywall is up again
I was in time to read the Plantman update at least.
don't forget that it was unfair that bugstop dimisses hub bat's HP halving.
There's bugs that are useful such as the buster bug that lays rock cubes instead of firing normally.
You can use it as a guaranteed setup for poltergeist and lightning
I know, my ass was blasted when I went to check for updates and found the wall back up. Total bullshit.
too bad the final verson of the final boss breaks the back row of panels...
Hitting prism with anything causes it to do damage equal to what hit it on all panels around it.
Heatspread does 300, boosted to 600 with grass panels. Then due to hitting prism, another 600 is spread around it, thus 1200 damage.
Holes don;t matter, just have undershrt/fucktons of HP, and airshot the statues into position.
>Brother is a cunt that uses lavastage when I'm grass style
>Go bug style
>Hubbatch+Bugstop on Aquastyle
He cried bitch tears and stopped playing with me, even though he was the baby using folderback.
I love movebugs, those things were so helpful for the OmegaNavi and Bass fights in BN3.
When I fought Bass GS, I had movebug, Barrier, Green Invis, and max chip selection. I had alphabet soup and I still S-ranked the bastard.
I don't think you remember the layout of the 650 HP statue, Airshot was incapable of moving any of them due to setup, and the hole prevents prism from spreading damage to all three. Plus I'm not sure if the secondary shot from Prism itself deals the bonus 600 simultaneously.
>Always heard about prism for years
>Every time I hit it, it seems to just break without doing any damage
What am I doing wrong?
>There's bugs that are useful such as the buster bug that lays rock cubes instead of firing normally
>fill folder full of airshots
I have 3
What's the best strategy to get through the game? I've beaten it before. I beat Bubbleman, last I played.
Which style? I'm liking all this wood ground grasstage I'm hearing.
My bad, I meant paralysis/vine locking.
Same principle as how I pussywhipped Bass GS.
>fighting Alpha with bug style
>vertical movement bug
i remember playing the early battle network games and loving them, though i cant remember the exact ones i played i believe it was 1-3. can i get a tier list? also how are the star force games?
Wicked combo folders never felt like a real win, I mean when the folder works you're guaranteed to win without much power
I think my best serious accomplishment was S ranking GS omega with some sword folder
OFFICIAL UNDENIABLE TIER LIST
BN: 3 = 6 > 2 > 5 > 4 > 1. 1 and 4 can be swapped to your liking. I suggest playing them all in order, but if don't feel like putting up with 1 and 4's bullshit that's fine.
SF: 3 > 1 > 2. Play all of them, they're all really solid and SF3 rivals BN3 and 6.
>Did a no damage run of BN3 last year
>mfw 3 Ratties were more dangerous than the bosses
>mfw 3 Rattons and Ratty Omegas
SA requires you to pay to use it. They've been doing a LP on the forums for BN3 which was really good and amusing (also informative, I've learned a lot of shit about the game I never knew in the past, like Beastman's combos or the fact that Untrap is super fucking useful.)
Anyway, the paywall is back up so the forums cannot be viewed.
I'm going to recommend you to Mega Man Battle Network Chrono X, which is literally just Battle Network 7 created by fans. It's still a huge work in progress, but the little I've played is pretty damn faithful to the games, complete with its own system called MeMENTO, which replaces Style Changes from 3, Double Soul from 4 and 5, and Soul Cross from 6, but works more like the aforementioned Style Changes.
I don't know what you guys are bitching about. I never had a problem grinding for ice ball. Just grind with fish installed in the hades comp where the last getoutoffallingtoyourdoomcard was.
I get two every run, so I can toss it in my folder.
the fire senario was bullshit though I forgot where in the entire internet the last one is and don't have the patience or time to sweep it again.
Yeah I remember using R pretty well
It's not that I dislike combos, I've played this series to death but I never would have imagined that combo of coming road and going road combined with sensor that I saw here
I've just never considered it anything special to beat a boss when you have some consistent instadeath set up.
Because they don't always give you an Iceball M, right? So I go into Hades comp, kill twenty viruses waiting for the ice cannons, then when I kill them I get Iceball Q or some shit. It's just a bit tedious, if I recall correctly.
mega man is probably the one franchise where original characters fit in, after all every game has featured atleast 1 character submitted by a fan
then capcom's design team was there to make them not shit, but still
>alphabet soup folder
>don't have a good reaction speed
>die to the fucking virus king and his three fucking rattons
>only win because I got a lucky Gutsman G
Fuck rattons, seriously.
Raven's sprites are edits of Swallowman, now that I remembered.
Riffman I dunno. I'm not a fan of the sprites, they look like they dont' have any movement at all, mostly because the legs don't move.
I don't know, Riffman looks alright but Raven looks really out of place.
I think they're trying to avoid using already existing Megaman bosses. Plus, who doesn't have robot master OCs at the ready?
Oh wait to be specific, it's basically swallowman's sprites combined with Corvus.
Meh, that video was 3 years old and we haven't gotten any new update about him since then. I hope they at least revised his sprite designs.
The new CactusMan boss they introduced recently was actually pretty alright in my book. Nothing super special, but nothing horrible either. I wonder if this game will have a postgame comparable in size to BN3's. They've been working on it for a damn long time by now.
Hey, I'm finally playing through Star Force 3!
Anyone like Star Force?
I want to watch a newbie play through MMBN3 on a stream so fucking bad.
I called it official and undeniable for a reason. Some people think 4 should be higher and I think 2 is at least as good as 3, but that and the SF list are pretty much /v/'s agreed on ranking.
>tfw no more rubberbands
Cygnus Noise master race reporting
Why's that? To relive all the frustrations or what?
I've seen quite some people playing MMBN1 on the Wii U VC recently, so when 3 hits the store there might be an influx of new people playing it.
You either love it or hate it. The NG+ bullshit was removed and in its place you can just globally set the virus level. But the biggest dividing factor is the Liberation Missions which is Battle Network with a bit of Fire Emblem injected into it. Personally it's stolen my heart but it's something that I had to work towards.
6 is kind of yeah kind of no. the game is really really easy and I don't know if it's because the bosses are too easy or if its because you have a billion different ways to overpower the fuck out of yourself. But it pretty much puts Lan's story to bed.
6 is god tier and well worth playing, plus it ties up the series just as well as 3 does. 5 is pretty solid but has liberation missions, which may or may not annoy you. 5 basically requires you to make single code folders though, the liberation mission can get pretty demanding later.
There are only 2 infinite things, the universe and DSP's stupidity. And I'm not sure about the former.
5 is okay. it did a decent job of fixing 4 but has some issues
>Liberation missions in lieu of proper dungeons
>maybe the shittiest undernet ever (2spooky daily dose)
>in fact the final boss is literally darkness
>terrible, terrible library
>maybe the dumbest fan designed navis yet (Gridman, Swallowman)
>someone allowed pic related to happen
Guts: Just use the buster a lot. This is the easiest style to get and thus the most common people get first time.
Custom: Select multiple chips at the same time, more chips selected = more points towards Custom. using PAs also count toward Custom
Team: Use Navi chips most often
Bug: Just fight with a bugged Navi cust
Shield: Use Barrier type and recovery chips most often
Shadow: Blue Only, Use Mole/Invis chips most often
Ground: White only. Use Panel changing chips most often
Hub: BN2 only. S rank all Navis, except Bass.
Elements are completely random, and are locked from when you hit new game (for your first style) or when you choose the option "Work toward another style" (all others after) You cannot get the same Element twice in a row.
Man I just love Regal. For all the complex tragic villains in games I'm glad we still have "I WILL CAUSE DARKNESS IN EVERYONES HEARTS VIA CHIPS AND LINKING EVERYONE'S SOULS" Reggal.
The best part is, because of lazy changes when making the two versions of BN5. Dusk has a valid reason to resist the Soulnet, but Charlie is never fucking explained. He just basically disregards it, completely out of character.
Yeah, Colonel was the clear original and they did Protoman for the obligatory 2 versions.
Chaud basically had nothing to do with anything while Baryl was really important to the plot
Does anyone remember what Regal's actual plan was? Because all I can remember is make everyone evil for no reason. Seems like it'd be really hard to control a world of assholes.
The existance of BN6 makes Colonel version Legit canon, Because otherwise Lan would have no fucking clue who Barry is, and would have no strong relation (He showed up for one scene in Protoman version, then never appeared again)
Basically upload a virus on soul net which means infecting people.
beyond this measure there really wasn't anything wrong with soul net, and I'm pretty sure Lan used it as the base for Brotherband.
>Jumping across rooftops
>Taking a nap inside your girlfriend's cell phone
>Killing aliens. Befriending aliens.
>Ignoring race of edgy radio sky people
>Going DBZ levels of explosive rage to save your pals on their dying alien planet
What's not to like?
Take control of an alien meteor and force the world to be evil because people who try to be good are evil even when they're not trying to be
what the fuck?
Use SoulNet to force everyone's evil tendencies to the surface to they can do diabolical things like steal people's PET and smear garbage all over walls
>You will never have a young qt3.14 elementary school teacher who watches you grow up and save the internet
>A wimpy, unlikable pussy protagonist who only gets moderately likable by the third game
>The third dimension means a lack of movement in fights, hence being unable to move up and a severe dumbing-down of strategy
>Geo's friends aren't as likable as Lan's
Despite this, I have a major thing for ol' Prez, as well as Sonia.
Also, Omega-Xis is awesome.
Just you wait, huh! I'm gonna show Ms. Mari how much of a man I am, huh!
But for what purpose? What end goal?
>ahaha everyone is evil now, guess it's time to retire
Did he just want to make everyone evil for no reason? Because that would mean Regal is so much more retarded than I thought he was.
No that seriously was the reason. He figured that everyone evil at heart and the hypocrisy of good should be extinguished because darkness is better. At least until Dr. Wily showed up who mind you was in hiding ever since the BN3 incident, and deleted his son's brain, which made Dr. Regal a good guy.
What is it about his BN2/3 profile though, that looks so...swag?
He looks like he could be the lead vocalist of a good band.
To my knowledge, no. The closest to a translated 4.5 you'll get is playing Bn 4 with the battlechip gate addon the GBA had. I need to buy one of those before they get too rare.
>I'm pretty sure Lan used it as the base for Brotherband.
>200 years in the future, preteens were able to access world smiting WMDs after linking some feels with their first crushes
Well dang. That sounds exactly like what Lan would do.
We need fucking PETs or something, I swear.
>battle with qt netbattlers and qt netnavis
>have your netnavi pull up porn for you
>uninstall avast and use your netnavi instead to fight viruses and have actual fucking fun doing it
Actually you can use an action replay to play 5 (at least the DS version?) in 4.5 mode
Just a PET app for the smartphone would be fine by me. Run it on your phone, plug your phone up to the computer to transfer your navi to the computer and back, use bluetooth/lan to fight other players -
Why has no one done this yet.
BN4 Regal and BN5 Regal are almost completely fucking different characters, to be honest.
The first guy had much more of a basis for doing what he did, recognising the darkness all people are capable of.
The second was DAAAAARKNEEEEESSSSS
>Want to play BN now
>Can't find the cartridges that I put in my GBA box
I can understand how Higs was reformed and selected to assist the logistical maneuvers of Team Colonel with his fancy calculator navi, but how in blazes did Dr. Dark get a presidential pardon to be on the team?
Shadowman caused more mayhem on the Internet than all the Darkloids combined, not to mention crippling the entire economy of a whole country and assassinating its network's king.
I think BN5 Regal was better than 4 Regal just because 5 Regal didn't even attempt to be deep
>That final speech in BN4
>tfw when all these videos and webm's show people literally making omega bosses their bitches
>my fucking face when I felt proud at discovering the lifesword program advance
>My folder is alphabet soup
Fuck this. Fuck it. Nothing I can do to make myself feel better in any of these games now.
Also, UK got screwed. Only ever seen BN3 (GBA) and 5 Double Team DS in retail. Only seen Starforce 1 in retail, never saw the other two.
The entire internet was completely occupied by the darkloids. Sure, Shadowman genocided Yumland net, but the Darkloids had global domination. Who knows how many navis they deleted during their reign of terror.
They probably needed every skilled netbattler they could get, and Dark Miyuubi was quite skilled.
They do a bunch of weird shit.
Like they make a zero inspired armor for OVER, but apparently the technology for beam weapons isn't a thing yet so they made this (the edges of the sword is energized)
Have Dark karma be rated on percentages. At maximum Dark karma you're stuck on 1 HP. Once you start using light again your HP goes back to 100% eventually.
Do what 5 did and have Soul strength scale with buster levels.
Have the net have set areas with set viruses like every other game sans 5. NG+ is just if you want to relive the game. Scaled up bosses is fine.
Jesus please hire someone who understands how the english language works to revise the script.
and yet they make these respec'd armors which are all using beam technology.
And also the gaudiest colorscheme known to man.
it's some weird timey shit, I think Over is made before X or something.
So, anyone excited for the upcoming Rockman Neo?
i miss this shit yo ;_;
>play it first so you don't realize how fucking awful it was
I made my friend do that. He stopped giving a shit at Duo and doesn't want to play the other BNs because 4 is his only reference point. Bad idea.
Just cleaning up the text is a good start.
Also have normal/heel navi battles strewn throughout the Internet instead of just in the tourney or Higsby's battle board.
In fact, remove normal navis from the tournament altogether. Why would you even make Flave's fodder navi the boss of a scenario?
seriously I might liked these respec'd armors if they used the original color scheme.
It's a super ugly shade of gold
>That one scenario where that little girl's ghost came back from the dead
>her coming back brought back internet ghosts and Megaman had to Cyber Sutra away
>Beating her in a netbattle exorcises her
>No one but the judge is alarmed at this
>BN3 was my first Battle Network game
>HeatGuts was my first StyleChange
That with an alphabet soup folder made BubbleMan so much harder than he needed to be.
As I understand it, Over-1 was made by Cossack and Light in the past after some time traveling Wily went to the X timeline and collaborated with Sigma. That's as deep as it goes so nothing even has to make some sort of sense.
This could actually be really cool if they used the Overs as some sort of attack of the clones plot in the Elf Wars.
it's amazing. i'm surprised /v/ doesn't talk about this game more. it's an RPG with card game elements, but only it's not shitty. you create a deck of chips to send to megaman every "turn" which is a lapse of time. there are cool summons chips of other net navis, a lot of strategy and an overall fun experience.
Over-8 is honestly my favorite
It just bothers me that there's so much wasted potential in this character when he has like, literally 2 frame attacks and shit
>Check out a hacking tool for BN6 to modify battles
>mfw it's a clusterfuck and I can't even find anything I want to edit because it's not even listing battles by actual location, just AREA(NUMBER) with Sub-Areas out of the ass
For a game whose last entry was like over 8 years old this game still gets talked about quite a lot imo. Every few days there's probably a BN thread that reaches 500+ posts (this one is on course to do that too) and BN gets probably more discussion on /v/ than the rest of the Mega Man franchise combined.
Granted, it's quite niche over here in the west as it is compared to Japan, but I wouldn't call it too underrated on /v/ yet. It's mainly the mainstream media/gamers that don't know much about this series.
It's wasted potential because its not an actual game.
Literally all they had to do was pull some fan generated levels from Powered Up, make them 8-bit, reskin sprites from Xtreme and slap together some shovel ware that you could actually play. A fan group could do this in a month with the right resources.
early on it's a lot of alphabet soup so buster reliance is pretty high. Thus, Guts style is almost always what the player gets the first time unless they managed to make a good folder early.
i'm with you,
i think 6 could have been better
battle system and folder building feels more polished than ever, there's some pretty fun new chips and a lot of old good ones make a return
story mode feels pretty streamlined there's less extremely tedious crap to do
but having crosses on top of beast form is kind of overkill
