However, this was real.

Who was in charge of this port, and why didn't Capcom didn't approve that, but instead approved a Game.com version?

I was hyped as fuck for this in the end of 90s: Fucking portable RESI!

It's really interesting to see games like Chronicles of Riddick, Doom 3, Half Life 2, Counter Strike to even Morrowind as bad of a port as that was, even playing on the original Xbox. It made me wonder how much better the port of Deus Ex 1 would've been if it were on the Xbox instead of the PS2. Especially since that shit had fuck huge memory card saves.

>>
>>256675649
Half-life 1 was ported to Dreamcast. It never got released but I'm pretty sure a nearly completed iso has been leaked.
>>
>>256675649
I owned Half Life 2 for the original Xbox. It ran well and looked bretty gud.
>>
>>256676315
>even playing on the original Xbox

The original Xbox was easily the most powerful console of it's generation and had a slew of great titles the PS2 couldn't even begin to play. Put Morrowind on the PS2 and see what happens.
>>
Ultima 6 for the SNES.

Not sure how obscure it is, but it's notable for being one of the only console Ultima ports to actually be good.
>>
>>256675649
Honestly I'm more surprised that they ported Half Life 2 over to the PS2. It makes sense to put it on the xbox.

It always did impress me how powerful the original Xbox was. I have the collectors edition of Doom 3 for it and it always ran great and looked pretty good for the meager hardware. Still curious how a game like HL2 or Doom 3 would have looked on PS2 though,
>>
>>256674403
this game was incredible, only AITD i've played. i got my ass handed to me at first by that dreadful top-down combat thing, but i persevered and beat it. terrific game with some great atmosphere.

i wonder how it holds up nowadays
>>
>>256680067
i dug mine out recently and games like Riddick have held up incredibly. jaggies errywhere but it's a great-looking game, and it has lean! on a console! that's the sort of thing that shouldn't be a rare treat.
>>
>>256677360
>they ported Half life 2 to PS2
no they didn't.
>>
>>256678952
This version sucks. GBA didn't have the power to calculate trajectories of the bullets, so you couldn't actually dodge them. Bullet time just made you absolutely invincible and without it you just attracted bullets like a magnet and the enemies never missed.

The GBC Daikatana was an overhead action RPG that looked semi-competent in comparison

That is actually running at a higher framerate than the PC version. The original was capped at 5 fps, I'm dead fucking serious here, and can be uncapped to 10 with the Exult emulator. There's actual animation too when moving.

I've played a significant chunk of it and I suppose it could be worse.
Most of the original Deus Ex is there. The biggest change is the levels, they've been chopped up and loading times are everywhere. The PS2 had essentially no RAM.

Sorry to jump into your guys conversation buy you both seem knowledgeable about carts, what GBA flash cart should I grab?
I'm about to buy a GBA SP AGS 101, I see EZ-Flash IV and EZ Flash V, but is the V only for DS systems? What is the best cart as of now to grab for it? I'm tired of using my PSP, the emulation and sound on it is very unreliable and nothing like the originals that I used to have.

The V is a DS flash cart. The IV is a GBA flash cart.
My experience with the IV is very good. I don't know much about GBA carts, but I've not had any problems with this particular one.
Works on the DS as well, and if you manage to install the FlashMe firmware it plays DS games alongside GBA games.

Jesus! Usually on average, PS1 games use around 1-3 blocks depending on the game. What was Sony thinking making memory cards have so little space?

At least you can buy those 3rd party ones which has a switch on them to change "pages" to the next 15 blocks. I knew a friend that had a memory card that had 30 blocks and you can switch between the 2 pages of 15 with a press of a button thats on the card. Doom 1 is based on the Jaguar Port, it lacks a lot of levels and they fucked up the order of the music.

Doom 2 on the other hand uses a completely different engine to run the whole thing (i think it's the same engine used for Duke Nukem Advance), it has all the levels but some levels like MAP15 and 29 had to be split in two because the engine couldn't render such big levels.

The absolute best is The Sims 2 for the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube. In fact, it's probably the best game ever, for two main reasons:

1. You can actually control your character instead of just telling him what to do. So you walk around and press X or whatever to interact with objects.

2. IT HAS SPLIT SCREEN MULTIPLAYER. It's fucking awesome. You and a friend control separate characters. Me and my brother spent so many hours playing that fucking game.

This was so much fun but
>Escort mission: The videogame
Dang it. I wish it was a game with completely original design because the gameplay was damn perfect.

Good port, my friend and I used to take turns playing it. We played it all night on new years eve, and we ended up beating it.

How about obscure cartoons that never made it past the pilot?

I've got a whole set I'm about to sell on eBay. 2 guitars, drums, mic, and game. Only thing is the guitars don't have the dongles that you need to plug into the PS3 to play, so I can't test those.

I know that the chinese made a port of Final Fantasy 7

A port, of a book. With proper voice acting and all sorts of other MGS stuff.

Its been ported to PC but it was really glitchy last time I tried it

You need a USB hub if you want to use all the instruments at once. Just a small 4 port hub should work.
If you just want to use 1 instrument at a time it doesn't matter.

Not to mention there were two of them.

They were added into the PS3 MGS Legacy collection also as video files.

It's like they never Q&A tested that shit due to the shared hit points.

Have to rush certain sections on one character and get them in a safe enough spot, and then try to clear the enemies with the other character.

This is so bad, it's good. The jokes are just so weird and everything is so awkward that it's funny.

If flash storage media didn't skyrocket in size early on in the PSP's life cycle, I could have seen UMD films having been more than an experiment.

But nope, the iPhone had to come out and make portable video accessible for everyone with a PC.
>>
>>256724467
I tried, but only after taking the shot ansd putting them away did I notice Doom, whch had ended up in the middle of the F's for some reason.

>>256724592
Yes. It's got a few of the spin off ocmics as digital versions with music & sfx, an exclusive one for the psp, and a few bits & pieces like a jukebox of 20 or so tracks from the games, a theatre with trailers for all the games etc, plus various other small easter eggs.
>>
>>256724810
People soon figured out how to rip movies to the PSP anywhoo. And the problem with UMD's is sometimes they cost more than the DVD equivalent.
