Alright /v/ Iwata has just committed soduku
You are now the president of Nintendo. How do you save the wii u?
>all those "4K, see more details, 4K, be moved! 4K" during the WC
>4K cameras, and other stuff being made -- whenever they present stuff it's 4K this, 4K that
>most stuff is still 720p, may it be TV, gaming, etc... with the exception of blu-rays at 1080p
before it that, it was 3D... which also nothing uses.. and no one really wants
that would be the appropriate reply if he said "seppuku instead of sudoku"
but OP only looks retarded for not writing sudoku properly
or what, is typing it wrong on top of saying the wrong word is the new epic meme?
I carry on with Iwata's principles of making video games as toys and not overly expensive cinematic pieces of drama.
I would try to make the Wii U the console of niche games for the supposedly 'hardcore' audience, while on the other hand also making sure kids get their fun high quality games. I'd also resurrect a bunch of dead IPs that Nintendo has locked away.
N64 and Gamecube Virtual Console would also be pretty sweet.
I'd also go around picking up dumb bitches with triforce tramp stamps and telling them I OWN fucking Zelda
I don't get the obsession with 4k tvs. Nobody is going to significally produce content for them. Cable/satellite companies? Have to compress the fuck out of any HD content they have already. Broadcasters? Fuck no, they are not redoing all their equipment again. Internet streaming? The internet infrastructure is already hard pressed to keep up with the demand for existing HD.
Nobody wants 4k.
Marketing campaign to ensure that people understand it's actually a new system in the casual crowd (I explained to a couple dozen people last week that the Wii U was different from a Wii, so clearly success of recognition is limited)
Continue with the MK8 displays to tempt people into buying.
Continue the sort of a"buy one, download one" promotions with the next big hits on the system (Smash, for example, logically).
Increase the robustness of the virtual console library while dropping the prices. Make it less about the profit margin per title and more as a reason for casuals to want the system (as casuals would actually want to buy Roms)
Sony is trying to be at the start of the race so that when the technology catches up, they'll be the established game in town.
However, that's a strategy that worked very well in the 90s, but not now. Innovations on things like cable/internet quality, television display quality and size (with which the aforementioned service quality could keep up, etc), the obvious and universal advantages of DVD over VHS that anyone with any TV could appreciate...those were big deals to be there for.
Comparatively, a slightly higher signal when many people don't have much graphical appreciation (hell, look at the ongoing FPS debate and tell me if someone who thinks 30 is as good as 60 can appreciate 4k over HD), at much greater expense and intensity.
4k is shaping up to be the new 3D; good for movie theaters, but little else.
even if there was content, there's generally no point -- especially on TVs since people are usually sitting at the other end of the room on the sofa
makes more sense on a PC monitor when you're sitting close
VR could use 8K though
Honestly the only thing Nintendo should do now is do some more marketing for the console itself, make it clear it's not an addon for the Wii and show more of it's games.
Other than that there's nothing else they could do.
Maybe a price cut or something but that's very improbable. Third Party developers are also dead to them. Maybe try to get some more Indie developers on board but have some real quality control over them.
i make every stupid NintenDOOMED rumor obsolete with a simple feedback
I would create with no gimmicks, slightly better hardware and tons of casual game to make a shitton of money. Then I could even invest in true games and fan favourites, pay some third party and invest on new ips while still using the old ones. This way I would have a console appreciated for it's vast choice of good games and I would gain a shitton of money thanks to the casual games.
Also, marketing. It's not that difficult Nintendo.
i thought sonyjabronies hate and don't want Nintendo games
it's really just about having something new
TVs are mostly stale and no one has a reason to replace their TV often
but TV companies really want you to get a new one every 2-3 years, and trying to find reasons to convince you to
>I would create with no gimmicks, slightly better hardware and tons of casual game to make a shitton of money.
pull a PS2 again with a slight of iOS games, no thank you.
thank god you don't work for Ninty
I didn't think you thought so highly of me
Nintendogs was a masterpiece that sold 25 million units, one of the best selling game of the generation, acclaimed by all
I meant the success of the first Wii.
They thought just because that console sold so much, they could name it the same and it would sell just as good, they didn't even do any marketing because they thought it didn't need it.
Also motion controls. Soccer moms latched on to it, that's why it sold so much
I never implied you went there, I said don't post shitty Gaf images because we know already that they are fanboys, idiot
The wiiU is fine, the problem is the marketing and the games, they should invest more money on both (also they made a console named exactly like the previous one exept for the U and there is still people who thinks is a wii with a tablet)
>implying Sony ponies like Zelda F-Zero and Metroid
your shitty wet dream ain't gonna happen at all though. no Nintendo games is not gonna be on your
retardedconsole, so fug off
1.Fire all the memelords at Noa
2.Hire COMPETENT viral marketers
3.Pay pewdiepie and other flavor of the month fags to play Nintendo games
4.Release Ashley as DLC for Smash 4
5.Make the following games:
Elite Beat 4U
Pokemon Snap U
Pokemon Stadium 3
-Force waifus in all of them, more waifus, more fanservice, more sex, sex sells
stop triggering me, you shitlord.
this people realize Nintendo is fucking rich while Sony is almost bankrupting right?
it is really simple, yet they keep making the same mistake, not only Nintendo, everyone.
You can't save it it's already dead.
I personally just view this entire era as a wash and want Nintendo to release there new console which will most likely bridge the gap between home and portability.
>It's a boring game made for casuals. fanboys and self proclaimed "gamers"
i think you're talking about Rehashio fans (NSMB/SM3D) and Super Mario Bros. fans.
not all mario games involves piss easy segements and samey as fuck looks
kid icarus was good,
people already know what F-zero is and, as much as I love it, sales wise is just a regular game.
i do would love a F-zero wiiu, but im sure there are more games that will atttact more people
seriously finding blue coins isn't really that tedious as you get far in game. it's really that fun when you get used to it
Sunshine and 64 wasn't platformy enough to please some Mario fans and B&K did a bit more better at open world level design. Also some Mario fans didn't like the unremovable FLUDD and cleaning stuff most of the time.
which is why Nintendo should do a sequel to fix all that stuff.
Honestly, I think the "Nintendo should go software only" threads are just proof that most of the internet has no idea how business works.
They think that just because Nintendo would sell more games, they'd make more money. They don't seem to realize that licensing fees are a thing. They don't realize that if they went third party, all we'd get are Mario and MAYBE Zelda. We wouldn't get stuff like Splatoon, and the new Star Fox game that's supposed to come out next year.
Sega had a bunch of interesting and colorful IPs. When they went third party, all they made were Sonic.
