I added dismemberment. Now you can chop up a schoolgirl's corpse.
What feature are you looking forward to the most? What would you like to see me implement next?
If you don't know what Yandere Sim is: http://yanderedev.wordpress.com/2014/04/04/what-is-this-game-about/
Why did you waste your time making this post?
I think that sounds reasonable, although I think it should be limited. Only one spare uniform in your own locker, and if you want more spare uniforms than that, you have to steal uniforms from other girls who are bathing in the shower room.
I dunno, Metal Gear Rising has all kinds of dismemberment and Hitman games allow you to kill civilians...
I don't think it's too unreasonable to think that this game might be able to get released on Steam. If not, I'll have to come up with some way to sell it via an official website. But since it would just get pirated anyway, maybe I should just release it for free and ask people to donate if they enjoyed it.
There's no plan for that currently. I think it would be okay to let the player "customize" Senpai at the beginning of the game, but not choose boys from a list.
The "customization" would come in the form of Yandere-chan daydreaming about what her ideal boyfriend would look like.
Its always good to hear about you and your proyect. beta when?
>no lesbian rape/sexual scenes
>hitman clone with schoolgirls without lewdness
It sounds to me like you don't know your audience. At all.
Yeah, you won't accomplish anything in your life so why bother.
>But since it would just get pirated anyway, maybe I should just release it for free and ask people to donate if they enjoyed it.
This is actually a pretty chill way to market your shit.
If it works for crappy bandcamp artists it'll work for you
Before I release a playable demo, I'd want to have a target girl and at least 10 ways to kill her. Stuff like:
1. Stab/Bludgeon/Strangle, dispose of body.
2. Push off rooftop
3. Push down stairs
4. Drown in toilet bowl
5. Frame her for one of your crimes, getting her arrested
6. Frame her for breaking school rules, getting her expelled
7. Convince the rest of the girls to bully her until she commits suicide
8. Find out who else in the school she has a crush on, and set her up with that boy instead.
9. Knock her out, bring her home with you (will probably be extremely difficult, haven't worked out all the details yet).
10. A method that will only apply to that one girl and won't work on any other girls.
After all of this is in place, it should be possible for people to "get" how the game plays, and provide feedback on how to improve the game.
The demo would also have to have working NPC AI and working "fail" conditions (getting arrested, permanently ruining your reputation at school, etc).
Yep, you got it! Every 2 weeks.
I had to re-factor a lot of code last week; had to re-program the way that item pickups work. Basically, what >>255976160 said; making it easy to target nearby people / objects for actions.
I might do another code re-factor / overhaul to once again improve that aspect of the game. It's super important to have a solid base before moving forward and adding a bunch of new features.
Jesus, that sounds like a shitload of freedom and choices for a yandere game. Not that that's bad or anything. I assume this means that the game will have multiple different endings and routes to take depending on your choices, right?
I don't know if it will wind up being the final logo, but it was some concept art for a potential logo made by a really swell guy.
>5. Frame her for one of your crimes, getting her arrested
>6. Frame her for breaking school rules, getting her expelled
>7. Convince the rest of the girls to bully her until she commits suicide
These are really ambitious. Coding will be a mess. Beware of feature creep.
Senpai's what? Senpai's boxer shorts? Senpai's toothbrush? A lock of Senpai's hair?
In short, yes, I'd love to add optional "objectives" like stealing these things to build a Helga-like shrine to Senpai. It could grant buffs to Yandere-chan.
Wow, I finally caught another thread after missing pretty much every single one since near the beginning
Keep being great, YanDev!
I think it should be something like what you said, but with YandereMC doing shit behind the scenes like blackmail, beating them up, causing them to "Vanish", and the guy she's in love with being like "Wow, I'm glad that things are working out for me now."
I dunno. Something like that maybe?
Wow if you pull through with this I can see this game really taking you places. I don't think the content is too disturbing considering something like corpse party got released on psn. I'm rooting for you man!
>drowning in a toilet bowl
If we're allowed to jump someone in a bathroom, you should have the open to kick the door of the stall they're in to surprise them/knock them down if they're close enough
Probably something like...
You can only have that case if you belong to the Light Music club (populated by characters who are obvious parodies of the K-ON characters).
If you lose the case, this counts as losing club property, so you're kicked out of the club.
Also, if you kill any members of the club, it will be shut down for not having enough members, so bye-bye guitar case.
Also, if you're NOT a member of that club and you are carrying a guitar case around, people will get real suspicious of you, and call you a thief.
Basically, the guitar case could be so freakin' OP that it will need a bunch of checks and balances to prevent it from breaking the game.
>These are really ambitious. Coding will be a mess. Beware of feature creep.
Agreed, he should cut out framing the rival, and setting her up with another boy, at least until the murders are polished.
Please continue working on this.
It looks like such a nice concept.
>Also, if you're NOT a member of that club and you are carrying a guitar case around, people will get real suspicious of you, and call you a thief.
I dunno how is it on japan, but not everyone has to belong to the music club to carry a guitar case.
I love seeing these videos of yours
>the video where you made a staircase of corpses
That was when I knew I supported you. Good luck, I'm sure it will be worth the effort you've put into it.
You know as well as I do that some SJW fuck will slam this game and cry to polygon to the point where polygon cries to kotaku and kotaku cries to the authorities.
SJW want games to be censored if it doesn't fit their sensibilities but at the same time want games to be art. They're hypocritical parasites.
That's right. The method you use to dispose of the girls affects Senpai in different ways.
If Senpai stumbles across murder scenes, he will become traumatized. If he discovers enough dead bodies, he will become mind-broken. It will be easy to make him your boyfriend, since he's not all-there-in-the-head anymore.
If your reputation at school is low, Senpai might suspect that you're the serial killer, and might agree to date you only because he's afraid of you.
If you make all the girls fall in love with other boys, Senpai will get lonely and desperate for a relationship, so it'll be easy to nab him.
If you get all girls expelled / arrested, Senpai will get the impression that girls are all a bunch of juvenile delinquents, and he will only be attracted to you because he suspects you're a pure gentle snowflake.
The feature is currently disabled to prevent some bugs from occurring, but it's no problem to reactivate it at any time.
It's a little suspicious, though. If a cop showed up after a murder, they would ask if anyone other than the victim was acting differently than usual, and "Yandere was carrying a guitar case around the school but I've never seen her play guitar" is a detail a student might notice.
Oh my lord okay to the people who are sitting here wasting their time shitposting this thread, how about you fuck off.
Be a mature fucking adult
Hide the thread
And move on with your life
Nobody is forcing this on you, you autists.
You know the AAA industry is fucked when an anon can come up with a more interesting mechanic than the latest Hitman.
Keep you the good work. Also, is there going to be a way to clean bloodstains because people might a bit suspicious when they find a huge pool of blood in the storage room.
In my game, you play as a strong independent female who can be either straight or lesbian depending on the player's choices. It's a love story about an eccentric young woman. SJWs should love it!
I've never heard of Kotaku trying to get someone arrested, though.
Definitely. I'll have to spend some time thinking up perks for every club, though.
Nah, Yandere-chan could never bring herself to hurt or scare Senpai-kun.
Any idea how you'll handle saving? Will players be able to save anytime they want or will they only be able to save at the beginning of each day/mission?
Also, will there be keyboard/mouse support or will I have to go out and buy a 360 controller and plug it into my computer to play the game?
MAKE IT HAPPEN!
50% SLAM and 100% reason to remember the JAM
this sounds amazing. gotta ask, how easy will it be to kill someone? i've been looking yer videos and it pretty much is "press x to ded". but i'm guessing that's just because there are no struggling animations for now right?
because i want to see my victim struggle
Check this out, bro:
I don't have mopping animations yet, though, so she just uses telekinesis for now.
This is going to sound really crazy, but have you considered the possibility of a Game Over being a possible ending? Like, if at any point in the game Yandere-chan dies for whatever reason, the game just ends on a bad end where Yandere-chan died and the player is forced to restart the game from the beginning?
How many clubs are you thinking about implementing in this game?
Have you thought about each chapter revolving around a girl from a certain club and having a mission specific perk that ties in with the club?
In the OP of this thread, I linked to a blog post that I made on April 4th, in which I state that I may or may not eventually charge for the game, depending on various factors.
I have never hidden this or lied about this.
Oh dear this sounds too much like what happened to the D&P dev.
Feature creep is a nasty thing. But a still image on the other hand shouldn't be too hard. Just make the characters pose, screenshot it, do some photoshop magic and you're done. Like an hour tops.
You just described Yandere Clicker
>>Yep, you got it! Every 2 weeks.
Dude, that means I'm getting a Yandere update as a birthday present. You should totally try to make like a sandbox demo, just to show the idea's playable.
Maybe have one summer uniform and one winter uniform. So you won't look as shady as you would covered in blood, but people will think it's kind of strange that you're wearing the wrong uniform.
I love how in Hitman you can save multiple times during a mission, so I'll strive to add that feature to Yandere Sim. I can't promise it yet, though, so the player might only be able to save at "checkpoints" throughout the day (homeroom, lunch break, after school, etc).
There's already keyboard support, I just don't use the keyboard+mouse controls when recording the videos.
That isn't necessarily going to stay in the game, I just kind of enjoy it.
I might ditch it or keep it in the game as an optional toggle or easter egg.
You mention here and on your blog that it's pretty much hitman gameplay but how exactly is it structured?
Is it one big mission or split up in separate missions. I'm assuming the goal is always the same sempai of course.
What kind of game length can we expect?
>yfw OP's game becomes successful and he migrates to reddit/tumblr and denies any and all involvement he ever had with 4chan
He still makes that face in Yandere Clicker, but in Yandere Sim, his facial expression would definitely change if he got stabbed.
The game is supposed to be about feeling like a predator preying on defenseless victims; like being the monster in a horror film.
It’s easy to get a messy kill. It’s difficult to get a clean kill. It’s very challenging to pull off the perfect crime. You will have the freedom to slaughter schoolgirls indiscriminately, but you will also have to deal with the consequences of doing so.
I might implement “Hit buttons in a sequence” kills if I have a 3D animator who can animate all of the outcomes of failing each button in that sequence. But without the resources to do otherwise, I’ll probably just leave it at “Press X to kill” for now.
I’ll consider changing it after the playable demo is out and people provide their feedback.
Yep! That's been part of the plan since the first or second thread back in April.
If you enter a state in which you've "lost" (the police are coming for you, Senpai hates you, Senpai has fallen in love with another girl) then you enter a "playable Game Over" where your new objective is to kill Senpai and then kill yourself.
>reading through the site
>Rival Yandere Boss Fight
Thought I'd never read something like that.
Long time no see.
I should try to see what my Jap friends think of your game right now.
I don't plan on every single girl being club-related, but I would like at least a few of them to be related to a specific club.
Some of the current ideas for target girls are:
1. Generic girl who just has a crush on Senpai (Tutorial girl, not meant to be memorable)
2. President / member of the cooking club
3. President / actress of the drama club
4. Fit, athletic captain of the swim team
5. Juvenile delinquent who bullies other girls
6. Busty sultry school nurse
7. Horny MILF teacher
8. Senpai’s adorable little sister
9. The most popular girl in school, a rich athletic beautiful genius Mary Sue
Another Yandere girl who has all of your abilities
Another idea for a target girl is an "occult otaku", a character like Tomoko / Tharja / Hex Maniac.
>the player might only be able to save at "checkpoints" throughout the day (homeroom, lunch break, after school, etc).
Like writing them in a journal or something? Or saving in the washroom like No More Heroes?
People can hear you laugh like a maniac. They will come over and investigate if they hear it. And if they see you doing it, then your reputation in school will drop drastically, so you have to do it in secluded areas.
>Going to the bathroom to write down your progress in the Senpai Diary to save.
That would be pretty neat.
I reached out to the owners of the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure franchise, but they denied my request to make Dio the playable character. I'm sorry, it won't be possible.
Damn, he changed his mind from the very first time he talked about it. You know what this means. He might change his mind...AGAIN! What a horrible thought. People should know exactly what they wanna do at all times, and never change ever.
>Rival Yandere Boss Fights
I'm going to blast the shit out of my MGR soundtrack when this shit goes down.
Please allow a regular Bare-Fists attack as a weaponless move. I must have my manly 1v1
How about she's from the other high school and has a secret crush on the boyfriend despite never talking to him.
You can only discover her if you go out of your way to discover each secret clue from each level.
I will hum this tune while playing this game.
I'm not the biggest fan of yandere, but this looks like a promising idea. I'm legitimately excited to see where it goes from here.
Do you have to laugh like a maniac or can you just let off a little steam and just laugh normally?
Will there be events where you can laugh all you want and not look like a crazy Yandere?
When you are given a target girl, you have 5 school days to kill her. You can freely wander all around the highschool and find a bunch of different methods / opportunities to kill her, some of which might require 5 full days of preparation and mastermind planning. It's pretty much free-roam / sandbox / free-style, but you do have a specific objective that you can accomplish by using the game engine however you want to.
Yo Yandere Dev if you're still here and reading posts and shit, I just want to say I love the work you've done. I've been following it for a few months (i think), not like incredibly long. I'd support you as much as I could, depending on dosh status when the game is released. I'm sending links to the youtube vid to a lot of friends and they enjoy it.
Just wanted to tell you you are based. Got an update from you and quite a few Woodchuck ciders tonight so its a good night in my book.
When would the playable demo be ready in your eyes? You've made a considerable amount of progress and seem to be doing pretty well.
I don't know if this question has been answered yet so I'm sorry if I've made you repeat an answer
Oh god the fucking chills.
but not as chilled as my victims will be.
For girls 2-9, have you thought about there being a "optimal route"?
A certain method (lethal or nonlethal) that would dispose of the target in a sort of fitting / cruel twist of fate?
Should all of the girls be disposed of such a manner, perhaps something will be unlocked later on
like an extended ending or stage 11
Thinking of possibly implementing things like cheat codes or New Game+ a good while down the line YandereDev?
You know, possibly things like additional costumes, or additional minigames or scenarios that unlock upon completing the game. And for cheat codes having them to be found in places like carved into a wall or desk, written in a textbook or being on a school poster. Maybe even scrap pieces of paper.
The NPCs in the current build of the game just stand there because their AI is not completed yet.
In the final version of the game, NPCs will struggle if they see you approaching them with a weapon drawn, but if you take them by surprise from behind, they will not struggle. Killing animations will also be longer / more elaborate / more noisy the higher the Yandere Meter is.
Students will not attempt to fight a crazy girl with a weapon. Yandere-chan will always win physical confrontations. The only girls who might fight back against her are the present of the Judo club and
the other Yandere schoolgirl.
Yandere dev, take this as an example of what kind of music should be in the game, some chilling shit like this.
Stealth kills will be silent. If the NPC is alerted / scared before you kill them, they will make a hell of a lot of noise when dying.
Automatic checkpoints by the game.
Well, there will be other ways to decrease the Yandere Meter, such as taking a picture of Senpai with your phone's camera, and staring at it for 5 seconds to calm yourself down. The creepy laugh is just one method that you may wish to use depending on the situation you're in (I.E. secluded area).
I DO LIKE THIS
>Students will not attempt to fight a crazy girl with a weapon. Yandere-chan will always win physical confrontations. The only girls who might fight back against her are the present of the Judo club and the other Yandere schoolgirl.
I don't know, wouldn't someone who is having his own life at risk try to do whatever it takes to survive? peraphs if you try to attack one single person it might run away, but if we talk about two or more, numeric superiority might give them bravery or somethin'
You gotta spice it up with several real boss fights.
The delinquent girl would obviously fight back, for instance. And maybe the class president has several goons who gang up on you and you have to desperately knife them before they rape you.
It would be good variety for the gameplay and also some character development.
Maybe if you set up the perfect murder you can cheap shot the boss girl with a special kill scenario, but if you haven't planned ahead enough you have to play the default boss fight.
You're a cool guy. Thanks! In this post >>255976709 I detail what kind of features I want to have in the demo. I basically want it to be one playable "week" of the game - 5 school days to kill a girl, with most "necessary for gameplay" features present.
Can you make deaths look like accidents? Like if you push a girl down the stairs and she dies from it, can you set it up in a way that makes it look like she tripped?
Or if you stab a girl, can you put the knife in her hand and somehow make it look like she slipped and fell on the knife?
>Well, there will be other ways to decrease the Yandere Meter,
adding to my post below-
yandere can get extra points by torturing the victim first, laughing maniacally, cliched evil dialogue, etc. Doing this can play piano music, psycho strings, or some other creepy music. You could get ranked at the end for being a more violent or a stealthier killer, obv since it's a stealth game the latter would get you more points but the former would be more fun
I like the idea of every girl having a specific "fitting" execution method. Like killing the president of the cooking club in a kitchen "accident", or exposing the darkest secret of the most popular girl in school, or convincing Senpai's little sister that she's adopted, or something along those lines.
Can I use my fists, MAY I PUNCH THOSE BITCHES IN THE FACE. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT
I was wondering if you've given any more thought on voicing in the game.
I love cheat codes. In the last thread I showed off the "rainbow blood" cheat code although I don't have the webm anymore. Check out this "characters hands are replaced with chainsaws" cheat code instead.
>Break into the popular girl's house.
>Steal her diary.
>Print copies of the pages and scatter them all over the school without anyone knowing it's you who did it.
>The whole school knows her darkest secrets.
>She's so distraught and utterly broken that she commits suicide.
Make it happen bro.
>convincing Senpai's little sister that she's adopted
Shit that's some high level evil.
I love it.
>Senpai's little sister that she's adopted
Won't that just give her a reason to put on the charm even stronger?
Or are you hoping that she throws her naked body at senpai and he gets disgusted, so he instantly shoots down imouto?
>convincing Senpai's little sister that she's adopted
oh dats evil. i love it.
I'm still loving the idea, and I still really want to keep it in the game.
Definitely. You could put a love letter into a girl's locker saying "Meet me on the rooftop, I want to confess my love to you." Then later when she's on the rooftop, push her off and leave a suicide note behind so that her death is ruled a suicide.
Of course, after this, the school will install suicide nets / a fence on the roof / lock the roof so you can't just spam / abuse this method.
She probably wont even be trying to fuck his brother. It is just yandere-chan imagining things and jumping the gun, because she is really fucking crazy by the end of the game.
>or convincing Senpai's little sister that she's adopted,
As long as those are "challange" executions and it doesn't force you into a linear way of killing the girls that sounds fucking amazing.
Could just have it more like
>Little sister is heavy forbidden love fanatic
>Tell her she is adopted
>Love with her brother is no longer 'forbidden'
or she would just run away from home and never be found again.
I think that it should be that every girl is actually just innocent and the main character just imagines a twisted shadow version of how they act.
Maybe have inner monologe about how she HAS to kill them otherwise yada yada and I WON'T ALLOW THAT!~
Neat, nice to see you are still around.
Wish I had actually good ideas to contribute but I'm about as creative as a lobotomy patient on a cocktail of Haldol and other tranquilizers.
Oh well, anyways keep up the good work it's really shaping up to something impressive.
In doing so, isn't Yandere attempting to psychologically break Senpai's little sister.
Somehow, by revealing that she has been living a lie for (nearly) the entirety of her life, she would go on to question the her other long held truths until she loses her sanity
or something alongside those lines
>Death methods can't be spammed/abused.
If you're seriously that dedicated to your game, I have a suggestion.
Make it so that if Yandere-chan murders a student and the body is found, but no one knows who killed her, the school staff adds security cameras to the school to monitor everything at all times, making things harder for the player if they fuck up and don't dispose of the body properly.
Perfect time for some Eternal Darkness shit to happen.
Why not both? If you silently get them to a secluded location and keep them alive for hours before granting them the sweet release of death it should get you an ever-loving fuckton of points.
>. Knock her out, bring her home with you (will probably be extremely difficult, haven't worked out all the details yet).
Hmm, any chances of getting a girl to willingly hang out with us? Pretend friendship? Though I guess that would be stupid because if she disappeared when she was supposed to be with us it might be suspcious.
If you plan yo incorporate out of school areas, we might be able to follow a girl hoe and kidnap her on the way there. (sorry I can't remember if you said you planned to incorporate those or not, it's been a while since I saw the last thread.
Maybe the first tutorial girl one was legitimately a rival and after that the main character kinda imprints that behavior onto the others because she's paranoid. Kind of a character arc, the trigger that sets the events in motion. Like a greek tragedy.
I thought I read on the Internet that most Japanese schools have now switched over to a 5-schooldays-per-week system. Isn't that true?
Perhaps if you join the Judo club, you unlock melee takedowns and don't need to use weapons.
>Every target girl actually evil
This is what yanderes actually believe
I'd love it if the game could be fully voiced, but I have to keep my expectations realistic. That's a "polish" feature and the sort of thing I'd add in if I either had a bunch of volunteers willing to work for free, or a respectable budget.
What would you prefer, an innocent sweet little sister or an incestuous jailbait loli with an oni-chan complex?
I remember some game, I think it was hitman, that had a little screen appear in the corner showing stuff as it happened. It could be a nice touch if you have good emotional level animations. It could heighten dramatic moments like someone asking to see your hall pass when you just killed someone in the next room and haven't had a chance to clean up.
So how many games were shown off on /v/ recently now?
There's this Yandere game and the NEET game.
Kinda impressed, can't wait to play them.
Right on. This has been the plan all along. You can play the game however you like, but there may be certain consequences tied to just indiscriminately slaughtering students and leaving evidence everywhere.
adding to my previous post, there could be a list of challenges on the menu you could fill out by killing people in a certain way. This wouldn't affect anything in your mission, it would just be some cool stuff to try. Maybe after getting a certain amount you can unlock costumes. Here's some ideas I had-
Psycho/Mrs Bates - Kill a victim in the shower
Krueger - Kill a victim in their sleep
Ed Gein - Hide a body in the cafeteria
Agent 47 - Garotte a victim
Irisu Syndrome - Kill with a baseball bat
Mariachi - Hide a body in a guitar case (easy mode)
When They Cry - Kill a victim using nails
(character name's) Revenge - Kill Sempai's competition (I wanted to name this after the character in that one VN who kills the girl from the previous route and stops you from saving the game but I couldn't find it)
Subway Bomber - Hide a body in a bin
BTK - Kill a bound victim
Manson - Convince someone else to kill your victim
Concrete Girl- Hide a body in a blocked-off area
Sudoku - Convince your victim to kill themselves
Do you really need to ask?
>Incest jailbait anyday everyday
If the little sister was actually just a regular sister we might end up feeling bad for murderlurdering her.
If you are trying to make the main character sympathetic then you make the murder victims ahve negative traits so they are more deserving.
If you are trying to portray her as an antihero then you should give each girl very positive traits so the contrast for the player having to kill them is more stark and depraved.
Personally I'll lean toward each victim being likeable to give the game more shock value and help characterize the main character as actually insane instead of a vigilante.
Kojima wouldn't give me the rights to Solid Snake but he agreed to sell me the rights to the guy who called Naked Snake a pantywaist.
An idea like "follow a girl home" requires a lot of 3D environment work, so this is not the kind of feature I can promise unless my 3D modeller is onboard with the idea. I don't want to say "Yeah, that's absolutely fine, I can do that" if my 3D modeller is not comfortable modelling an entire suburban Japanese neighborhood.
I am going to be the classiest yandere ever.
No unnecessary deaths, only those that block the way to true love.
Would you perhaps ever consider putting in a black suit with a red tie in as an unlockable costume?
If you're implementing imouto and customizeable senpai, make sure that her hair color changes to match his. I don't know how hard it would be to implement, but it would be a very nice touch.
Speaking of which if you are making a game with an anime art style then you have to NAIL each girl's hair color and style to conform to the appropriate archetypes. I can't stress how important this is.
Yeah that's what I thought, I understand completely that you can't say either way, just thought I would through my thoughts out there and see what you had to say. Thanks for the reply in any case.
>Black suit with red tie as drama club costume, complete with bald cap
>it actually makes it so that if you're spotted doing something sinister there's a chance they don't realise it was actually you
That'd be neat.
Would an arena type game mode be possible, for the really blood-thirsty types?
Hey anon, I've got an idea. What about an optional boss fight against your mom that can be accessed by you sneaking into your basement at one point and finding your dad's skeleton there and having your mom catch you?
>Horde mode in the school gym with every type of NPC, only you and your fists/ 1 weapon to beat them all.
Like an alternate game mode that take's place in the main character's nightmare, and it's a big murder maze with time trial. The generic girls are reskined to look like her subconsous fears.
>OP will never pander to your fetish like he did with yurifags
If it's a cartoon anime game with many characters you don't have much room for complex development. Just establish strong stereotypical traits up front.
Besides it's not like the main character is a empathic sensative person so the game should mimic her thought process and views of others.
But I think girls in suits are seriously cute, why would I stop?
Will Yandere-chan be able to wear an eyepatch? I have an eyepatch fetish so this is important to me.
I know Hitman: Blood Money had some of that, and I think a PS2 FPS called "XIII" had some of that. I'd love to implement that. I already know how to do picture-in-picture camera stuff, so it's feasible.
What kind of "enemies" would there be in this game?
I haven't though about it very much.
You will be encouraged to take pictures of schoolgirls' panties because you can trade these pictures for information. There will probably also be some other fanservice as well. Yandere-chan desiring to take pictures of Senpai in his swimming trunks while he swims in the school pool might count as a type of fanservice, I suppose.
I would love this, but it depends entirely on whether or not I can find a character modeler who is onboard with modelling, rigging, and texturing it.
yo yanderedev, lucky to catch this thread. I got your last e-mail and will start on that stuff soon. I have a question, is it actually necessary to have the shower room or can it just be the changing room?
I'd love to see something like an Ouendan girl as an NPC, strong, loud, serious and shit.
I think different pictures should have different values. Like a picture of a girl's breasts in the changing room is worth 3 or 4 panty shots. Also, maybe the guys you trade information with have different preferences. Like one guy likes plain white pantsu while another likes ones with strawberries on them or something.
There are several talented people who have volunteered to help me out in their free time. A character artist, a character modeller, a girl who can do a great "Yandere" voice, a few musicians, a storyboard artist, a few writers, etc. But there's no "official" team or solid group.
I love all of the people who have chipped in and contributed some art assets so far, but they are not my "employees" or anything of the sort.
Hey, that's a good idea!
Yeah, Yandere-chan's room is a playable area. So far I haven't though of much that can be done there, just arranging photographs of Senpai on a corkboard, checking out your shrine to Senpai, and choosing which panties to wear (panties grant you buffs).
Interesting. Can you please go down this list:
And tell me what hair colors / hair styles these girls are "supposed" to have, according to anime stereotypes / archetypes?
someone in another thread had the idea of some other girl that helps the protag kill off competition by supplying her tools and advice, but towards the end of the game when it looks like you will finally get sempai's attention she turns on you because she likes sempai too and she was only using you so you would kill off the competition for her so she would only have to kill you to get to sempai.
Maybe something like a bulletin where you can only put a certain number of pictures of Senpai-sama. Each picture giving different stats buffs - Better pictures/angles/service better buffs
why don't you put this in Steam indie stuff.
you make more bucks.
and all the anime dweebs will gobble it up.
I like the idea that nobody in the school wants to enter a specific bathroom, because they believe it is "haunted". One of the ways to dispose of a girl with no witnesses is to call her a coward and challenge her to a "Test of Courage" - tell her that she has to go to the "Haunted Bathroom" and stay there alone for 5 minutes, or else she's branded as a coward forever.
Of course, that's when you go there and kill her. And everyone things the ghooooost did it.
And if you take out your camera, and take a picture in this bathroom, you will see a spooky ghost girl in the picture. The bathroom was haunted after all. Yandere-chan's mother went to this same high school. Yandere-chan's mother was also a Yandere girl when she was younger. The girl was murdered by Yandere-chan's mother. Yandere-chan's father would have married that ghost girl if she hadn't been killed.
I just want an in-game journal I can write or draw my crazed plans or general hate for girls who like senpai. Maybe place on the corkboard too.
What if, as a hidden event, you might trigger some flags that would make your mom kill you, because she thinks you are getting too close to dad?
I won't promise it now, but I'll look into it once all the core gameplay features are in and working.
I like the way eyepatches look, so it can be an unlockable customization item.
I'm sure everyone here would love to be able to enter the girl's shower room and see bathing anime girls (whose ecchi parts are hidden by wisps of white mist) so I think everyone here would be delighted if you would model the shower room. But I don't want to ask you to do anything you're uncomfortable with, so you only have to model what you're okay with modelling.
>Reads the comments
>Full of fucking Reddit-fags
>Cork board with all your crazy notes and pictures and shit that fills up as the game progresses
>Reflects your state of mind depending on how off the deep end you go
That would be pretty neat.
Hidden ghost pictures would kick ass.
Please let this happen.
>I like the way eyepatches look, so it can be an unlockable customization item.
OP, is this going to be something for masturbating or an actual game?
If actual game, what will the gameplay be like?
If it's for masturbation purposes, will you add things like rape scenes?
>End of game
>You're finally doing the deed with senpai tonight
>You sit on his bed, waiting for him
>The door opens
>Nothing >Suddenly, the spirit of every girl you've killed show up >They start dragging you
1. Brown, short hair; if she's meant to be forgettable then she should have a forgettable haircut
2. Either ashy blonde hair in a high ponytail/bun (to keep stray hairs out of food) or mossy green hair in a "mushroom" cut
3. Bright [primary color] hair in some outrageous hairdo
actually just has wavy platinum blonde hair under normal circumstances
4. Dark red cut in a short bob or navy blue twin braids
5. Jet black or bleach blonde hair (Jotaro cap/hair optional) with some kind of delinquent haircut
6. Not so sure about this one
7. Doomed Mom Haircut (pic related). Brunette is fine.
8. Not too well-versed on imoutos, go with your gut. Hair color SHOULD match Sempai's, though.
9. Must have a hime cut, no exceptions. Gradient two-toned hair color (don't forget the unique pupil shape!)
10. Equally forgettable like #1
so it's harder to find who the rival yandere is
What do you mean? Would it sound like Hatsune Miku's voice coming out of my protagonist's mouth?
I dunno if synthesized voices would sound very good...
I can't recall, has one of the special disposals, such as the disposal of the cooking club president, include grinding her up in the cafeteria meat grinder and feeding her to the rest of the school?
Because that would be a good ironic disposal option.
Will there be some sort of time limit? Or is it mission based? Like if there is a time limit and you wait too long, you see senpai fucking one of the girls in a classroom and Yandere-chan goes batshit and kills both
>Hidden Challenge: Blinded by the Light
>attempt to take multiple pictures of naked anime girls, you pervert.
I was going to suggest the same thing, except something like animal crossing, where you can understand they are speaking, but what they say doesn't make sense. That way if you really wanted to , you could alter the sounds to show emotion and such.
I've got two other jobs that I'm working, and I'm in the middle of moving to another city, so I can't devote as much time to this project as I'd like to. It's super tough for me to estimate the number of hours, since it varies a lot from day to day / week to week.
>1. Generic girl who just has a crush on Senpai (Tutorial girl, not meant to be memorable)
Brown straight hair shoulder-length with slight bangs
>2. President / member of the cooking club
Fluffy pink hair with center part
>3. President / actress of the drama club
Blue short bangs over one eye with short bob
>4. Fit, athletic captain of the swim team
Short spikey red hair
>5. Juvenile delinquent who bullies other girls
Shaggy dull red long hair styled upwardly
>6. Busty sultry school nurse
Magenta with long wavy flipped hair.
>7. Horny MILF teacher
Long dark green hair tied up the back
>8. Senpai’s adorable little sister
Light brown center part with small twintails
>9. The most popular girl in school, a rich athletic beautiful genius Mary Sue
Blonde with elaborate bangs and hair clip
>10. Another Yandere girl who has all of your abilities
White hair with long bangs and side hanging hair that covers her face.
It's not intentional, but due to a bug, it's possible right now.
It uses the "Stab in the neck" animation regardless of the body part you are wielding. I may or may not keep "bludgeon to death with body parts" in the game, depending on how people feel about it.
Panty-based abilities when?
>You have 7 pairs of panties, each with unique effects, such as increasing stealth, physical appeal, etc
>You can wear whichever ones you want on whichever day, but you can only wear a pair once a week because that's when the washing gets done
With the sister... we need to have it so that if she's killed off it affects our senpai to the core, so that if you didn't plan it perfectly it'll go into an auto-bad end. He will never forgive whoever killed his sister and will be unable to do anything but search for her killer, making your advances towards him useless.
Non-lethal takedown lets you get even closer as the sister trusts you...
For some reason...
>That feel when you get the reference
Feels good man.
Cool, you found a random online dictionary that also got it wrong.
Now go call up your local priest and ask him which is right, you fucking retard.
Being wrong is one thing, but being wrong and not wanting to admit it is absolutely fucking disgusting.
When did yandere become a sex thing?
>But since it would just get pirated anyway, maybe I should just release it for free and ask people to donate if they enjoyed it.
Depends on the price. If its $10-$20 then I would never pirate it but if its anything over that I wouldn't buy it.
>I don't think the bludgeoning will fit smoothly into the stealth gameplay. Especially not with bloody body parts.
Please listen to this:
Oh my god that's fucking disgusting
You'd be surprised. I'm a person who /v/ is aware of. I'm intentionally hiding my identity and saving it for a big reveal. Then you guys will be like "Whaaaaat, YandereDev was actually _____ this whole time? No waaaaay!" So, I don't intend on talking about the games I previously worked on.
I think the reason is simply that the yandere archetype gives a unique twist on classic gameplay. It allows you to have a Hitman-like game in a school setting with killing options related to school due to the girl being a yandere, as opposed to a trained assassin in generic environments.
It also opens up the gameplay to other options involving school life, not limiting the game to stealth killing due to the yandere archetype.
Hopefully this was the reason behind making a yandere sim and not just because it's the dev's fetish.
For another feature you could add to the game, how about choosing a club at the start of the game for certain perks? For example, the the guitar case you've shown would be what you could gain for choosing to be in a music club.
This feature could also be used to encourage players to balance between violent objectives and social ones. There could be both yandere objectives and social/club objectives, and meeting both would be advantageous to the player by giving them more perks.
Shit nigga, the ideas just keep on coming
I heavily recommend it. It's very different from most anime out there. It consistently maintains a slow pace, and a very realistic style (no fantastical powers or anime tropes). The animation style (rotoscoping) works really well, because it really emphasizes subtle movements, and because it's complemented by actors who do an amazing job at their roles.
In terms of theme/plot, this is one of the few animes to make me genuinely uncomfortable purely from the situations that occur (specifically, it manages to do this without using tropes such as gore).
Also, don't be turned off by the slow pace. It really helps establish the tone of the show.
oh my god..
oh my god who could you be now, I'm wondering. Holy shit. You're someone that /v/'s aware of, huh.. And you're using a plural for games so.. Shit, but you're no big-wig.
Who the fuck are you..
As a game developer, I wouldn't like to release games that are basically reskinned versions of previous games. I don't want to give people the exact same experience they've already had a million times. I want to give people brand new experiences.
As you've said, Hitman is about a trained assassin who travels to environments and then leaves, never to return to that location. He won't be recognized. He won't have to care about his reputation. But in Yandere Sim, you've got a reputation. People will recognize you and remember you. This is about your school life, just as much as it's about stealth. The school sim aspects - like choosing what club to join, choosing what school subjects to focus on, working around a student's schedule - should hopefully differentiate this game from Hitman and make it a completely new experience that people haven't had before.
At least, I hope so.
Dude, you're pipe-dreaming here.
Don't add in too much stuff that you'll never finish.
Do you have a team, or is it just you alone?
Get a team, dude. It worked for Katawa Shojou.
I'm sorry, but I strongly preferred the manga to the anime. Just my opinion though.
So you're saying that you're actually a big enough name to be instantly recognized by /v/ if even just one of the games you worked on was revealed?
That's actually pretty impressive. You're David Gaider amounts of well known, then. Ken Levine. Todd Howard. Michael Kirkbride. That one Obsidian writer. John Carmack.
These are the kind of people that /v/ would be aware of if the games they worked on were mentioned. Are you sure you're that big?
It won't be one of the first things I implement, because I'm going to implement all of the core gameplay mechanics and necessary functionality before I start adding in "polish" stuff, but it's something I have planned.
Stalking Senpai and snapping pictures of him feels a little...gay. If I'm going to be spending all this time stalking someone, I want it to be a girl.
Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.
