Personally I hate how hunts have basically turned the game on its head. Let's release a feature that gives rewards so massive that there is literally no reason to do anything else.

I did everything in 1.0. Went back for ARR and didn't like the spammy combat, soulless quest grinding, and relearning all my jobs or the fact that my LS became dicks.

Mate said the new way to switch between hotbars with controller was good and that everyone is spamming hunts for tomes now and they felt like open world HNM's.

I really liked the 2 months I've played. I got a gatherer and crafting class to 50 and I've done most of the dungeons. The combat can be dull, but I like the bosses and the look of all the gear.

I know people that work as fucking merhcants in marchantile free companies. I got hired by some rich roegadyn miner to bodyguard him in the lvl.50 areas so he could mine without stealth slowing him down and gave me 600k gil and enough mats to get weaver from 1-50 for 30 minutes work.

As for the LB, near the end of the battle, when it can OHK the boss? Though the last few dungeons I've done (Not that I've done any recently) the Tank seems to wind up just using their Party Buff LB instead.

I would like it better if it's game play wasn't ass for 90% of their classes. Monk is the best game play and even that is simple as fuck at max level.

Also, I hate how the trash mobs in 99% of the dungeon and raid content are health sponges serving no purpose other then slowing you down. If there was a risk of death at any point I could at least enjoy it but there is not.

Well, if you can dodge at all times you're a halfway decent DRG but not using it to it's full potential. Mostly for a lack of understanding though.
Damage Buffs like B4B and HS can increase the DoT damage however mini macros like two to the skills, A buff and attack, can help set up for a better damage output. Using the LB efficiently, rather then just holding on to it all dungeon long is better due to the fact it resets all the way through the dungeon. OHK might not always be the answer and YOU have to defer to a BLM or SUM if you thing your DPS isn't enough to kill the adds quick enough. Don't just assume people will think about doing it because not alot of them are smart enough to think ahead.

If you went back in time and told the state of warlords of draenor looking like a melange of cobbled together shite and FFXIV going strong and still getting massive updates as a sub mmo 3 years ago i would call you insane.

Been playing for 5 months now. Finally got my first Zenith today (got distracted for a few months level-capping Land/Hands and horizontally leveling alt DoW/DoM classes).

If anything, the game has gotten even better as the time has gone along. Ultros has gotten visibly more populated, and hunts and Atma farming has added a sense of amazing vitality to every zone. I'm in a basically dead FC (joined out of pity), so I do nothing but DF Roulettes and literally everyone I've run with has been nothing but cool. The game is gorgeous, the GCD actually helps it feel kind of like a turn-based old-school RPG, and the content feels like more than enough.

I played WoW for several years and came off a decent year-long session of SWTOR at launch (which, as a primarily single-player kind of guy, wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be). ARR is, BY FAR, my favorite of the three. Sure, I'm a long-time FF fan, and the game itself doesn't do anything paradigm-shifting to the genre, but the game is safe, solid, and comfy as fuck.

Lost Saga just had a huge update patch today, so it's my new favorite MMO.

Wildstar Wildstar... propably fell on it's face. The problem the game has is that it's too hard for casuals(aka shit players). The first lvl 20 dungeons are harder than first tiers of coil. The veteran dungeons are harder than most raids in whole FFXIV. And yes, I quit FFXIV after farming Twintania for 12 weeks.

Wildstar will propably die, but don't even think about for a second that it's somehow inferior to FFXIV. FFXIV is boring, claustrophobic and casual as fuck compared Wildstar. The combat system and mechanics in Wildstar are way better in every possible way. Also the world is not filled with "MUH INVISIBLE WALLZ!"

No, I just want a game that's actually an MMO. Where I can see random shit happening, battles, raids, groups of people having their own goal, not everyone standing in front of an NPC or dungeon that's going to make their quest completely personal and detached from other players.

Why do you play an MMO, if the word MULTIPLAYER is in the genre's name. You can play Skyrim, for instance, and have an MMO experience without other players. Or play a co-op game with friends, so nobody can interrupt you. Lack of interactivity in the overworld makes the game a huge hub, not an MMO.

Yeah, I'm mad. About idiots passively running the genre into the ground since WoW came out. Before that - and a bit after that - there was a multitude of games with open-world PvP and nobody cried about it. It added tension to exploring, it made the world and the game engaging, instead of a boring, lifeless hub.

Honestly, I didn't like it. Not that you care, as there are no words I can put on this screen that will make you betray your rabid fanaticism.

The classes were nothing we haven't seen before, and done better by others (see Rift), the world, while pretty to look at still isn't as visually interesting as its competitors (see Tera) and it lacks the sheer quantity of content WoW has.

Personally, I never really managed to relate to my character. I always felt like another clone. Sure my eyes might be slightly further apart, and my shade of brown hair might a little different that the 17 people next to me... but the fact that everyone can be every thing with a single character just ruined the identity for me. Considering any idiot with half a brain cell can tell which piece of gear is better, the game is downright shallow in its customization.

Stock characters where nothing is unique and everything is the same, macroing system that makes everything so mindbogglingly easy you might as well not be there at all, and a very generic WoW-style combat, un-ironically enough, done much better by the game it wants to be.

And that's not even mentioning the fact the entire game might as well be set in one fucking room. Too many loading screens.

I hate WoW like the fucking plague, but at least it fucking knows what it is. Final Fantasy 14 wants to be WoW as well as re-invent the wheel with allowing your one over-sized bulk of a tank, prance around in a nice dress casting Cures.

The real sadness is that A Realm Stillborn didn't even try THAT many new things. Only about 1 or 2.

Except I am having fun. I actually enjoy FFXIV. I enjoy the world, the gameplay, the quests. Sure, it can get slogged down in a Grind-heavy side quest fest at times, but hey, that's MMOs.
