No EO thread? Let's fix that.
/v/, what's your favorite each class
EO1: Pic Related
EO2: War Magus
EOU: Still pic related, but Alchemist is a close second.
Man, just beat the 4th dragon of EO4 a few hours ago. Felt pretty good about it, though I really relied on clutch head snipe (with quickstep). Only the last boss of the 6th stratum left now, but I think I'm in for some grinding before beating him.
EO1: Huh, I dunno, it's been too long. Kinda liked the Survivalist, I guess.
EO2: The bear.
EO3: Hard one, so many good classes. The summoner guy was pretty inventive, and I really liked the concept for the prince and the robots as well.
EO1: Candy Medic
EO2: FUCK YEAH MIDAREBA Ronin
EO3: Pink Ninja
EO4: Middle aged man Medic
>Middle ages man medic
I thought I was the only one...
1 - Protector
2 - Hexer
3 - Princess
4 - Fortress
U - Raquna
Any news on 2DX?
I'm kinda surprised by how popular he is. He's like the medic in 80% of the streetpass teams I've met.
He looks really cool though. I was first going for the purple-haired girl to satisfy my glasses fetish, but I ended up picking the manly dude.
Nigger its either cute little girls or rough middle aged men in my favorite character lists. Actually scratch that, I like the old man shogun and monk in EO3 too.
Good god that would be fun as hell. 20 floor Stratums...all my wants.
EO2: Didn't play it, but I like the Gunner's design.
EO3: Buccaneer (Female pirates are god-tier designs)
not a furfag. Just wanted to test them out and I love the Blood Rage as a mechanic
I've just finished 4 some days ago, found it really fun and not really all that hard
Are the others good too? Should I go after all of them?
Oh, and my favorite class was Runemaster ( with Imperial sub)
EO3 isn't that hard since subclassing is broken.
EO3 IS a fucking great game though and my number 1 in the whole series.
It will happen right after they port PQ to the vita
Only played EO2 but are EO games the only ones that do instant kill attacks right? Climax was fucking awesome, it made some boss fights a lot easier just because it effectively reduced the max HP of a boss. It also made FOEs and stronger monsters a lot easier to deal with.
My Ronin specialized in the instant kill attacks for a while which was extremely helpful during exploration. Some enemies were so tough they could cost quite a bit of hp/tp to kill (FOE especially) that rolling for the instant kill could be a lot more resource efficient than trying something else.
>war magus at the back
>survivalist at the front
Aside from this, what's your problem? Just spam heavy damage with midareba and try to force skill with dark hunter. Survivalist and hexer should focus on keeping up buffs and shit. Also it is highly negligible to not get the war magus' +atk or +def buff. You could also poison it since that's what I did with my hexer although it takes awhile for it to stick.
Defender/Hoplite/Fortress. Every game. I've lost count of the situations I would have been completely fucked without one in my party.
They're not glamorous, they don't deal truckloads of damage, but they are indispensable.
I finished 7th Dragon last week, and it was pretty nice.
>not picking best mage
>not picking loli rushe princess
Why in gods name would you not?
Because they don't have the best hairstyle and it is a guild requirement.
While there's an EO thread up, any tips for the Ant Queen in EO:U? I can beat her down to < 50% pretty easily, then I start running out of flash bombs to stave off the minion FOEs and she starts doing a truckload of damage and my healing can't keep up. Playing story mode, so no party switching is possible. Level 36, playing on Expert. Don't remember having this much trouble in EO1 at this point.
It's okay, the blond mage is good too, anon. But it would be strange to have three blondes in the same party.
That's why I'm saying. Fuck the human princess, WE HAVE A LOLI RUSHE PRINCESS.
Creepy gloomy expressionless loli princess.
Thanks, I hadn't thought to check the boards there. I looked up the (single) FAQ and the author wrote it based on easymode, so it wasn't much help.
>it's a pretty easy fight
20 years old is still young.
EO2: War Magus
EO4: Tie between Dancer and Runemaster
EOU: Didn't play
Should have brought some threads
Started playing EO3 after beating EO4 cuz I got fed up with 4th stratum. Find out I have a Shogun/Gladiator with maxed 5-Ring Sword and Charge.
>Find a Deep Raider and 2 Deep magic chicks
>Charge then Ring Sword
>Ten slashes, no Survivors.
Why did I drop this game and why is Shogun the best class?
>Game that was designed with the DS touch screen and dual screen in mind, and is severely crippled without it's use
>"Lol lets port it on the Vita"
The only other platform besides the DS family that'd be able to have EO on it without being shit is the Wii U, and I doubt we'll get a console release of EO.
Christ trying to play EO on the PC is a pain. Having the dungeons in HD looks nice though.
That's not ninja.
>dat instakill move
>dat tp saving skill
>Only played EO2 but are EO games the only ones that do instant kill attacks right?
Almost all RPGs have "death" skills. But usually they're trash.
They're pretty good in SMT because when enemies are weak to them (which is frequent) they have a really, really high chance of working.
I guess I have to remake my entire team then... Only got 2 ice attacks, my night-seeker's ice thing, and my imperials ice bash thing. Have a medic, night seeker, imperial, dancer, and arcanist. I quit after dying to the thing about 20 times, and just went to play something else since I concluded that I'd have to grind a runemaster to lvl 20.
Oh, is the imperial not available yet? Then, it's the landshark. Something that has a shield and can do a bash, haven't played it since last september so, memorie's iffy. Gonna start 'er up now. Don't remember anything about ice for my lansnuckit or whatever it is.
Alrighty, got a full party of lvl 33s, nightseeker with 4/10 ice knife max bladefury and speed boost, dancer with fan/sword dance max and only the novice waltzs tangos and samba's, arcanist with even distribution across the board for novice skills and half veteran, fortress with max line guard and taunt, and a medic with basic healing crap. I think I gots to respec them all, God damn did I ever fuck up on that, it's pretty bad now that I look at it. Haven't really focused on one thing which you're supposed to do in EO games.
Nah, any party works if you do it right
I finished the game with a Party composed of Landshark/Fortress/Medic/Sniper/Runemaster
You can't get any more cookie cutter than this, but it worked well
What's a class that does good damage throughout the entire game? Is landshark good? I'm thinking of swapping out my nightseeker and dancer 'cause my arcanist does enough status ailments and boosting stuff, and my medic is good on healing.
Okay, I misspoke. I don't do that. I draw walls around doors and stairs. However, I sometimes draw walls around water to indicate clearly to myself that that square can't be entered. That's probably just as bad.
I missed my chance to by it a long time. Wish I had though. At least I got Paladin chan.
EO2: Dark Hunter. Actually felt useful this time, too.
EO3: Yggdroid or Ninja. Probably Ninja more tho.
EO4: Bushi. Lot's of cool looking classes in this game, but I can't resist the fluff.
I'm playing Untold again. I get a good hour before work to do a bit. Nice way to start the day.
I'm stuck in EO2.
My party is around 20-30 and I can't kill Scylla.
I remember I had a tough time too with her, but it was ages ago so I forget how I dealt with it. Didn't all of the bosses in 2 had some massive weakness you could cheese them with? or am I thinking of something else
What kind did you have in mind?
EO4: Bandana Landshark
IV was mir first EO and my first Dungeon Crawler. I got Untold and so far I like the story mode. Any onther game like this were you can custon your party and go on an adventure
It's been some months since I first faced Scylla haven't played much lately.
Here's what I have
Beast Lv 31 | Landsknecht Lv 38
Hexer Lv 29 | Survivalist Lv 39 | Medic Lv 39
Hexer skills are Poison and Frailty but still got 8 points left to distribute.
The Beast is pretty weak, wish I remained with Protector.
Landsknecht is good to explore but is kinda weak in boss fights.
Medic to heal and res.
Survivalist the only one that deals damage.
I also have a Lv 33 gunner that I rested and put everything in biding skills but they never work on scylla. All I got are misses every time I try to hit her with gunner.
Not sure what to do but grind some levels until I get strong enough to kill Scylla.
Unless someone asks I never post anything. I got 3 gigs of EO art just sitting there
Yep, got it finally. I wasn't aware that the minion ants disappear when you destroy the last egg. Had I known that, it would have been trivial and obvious. The fight was still long and drawn out, but at least it was possible without them interrupting to buff the queen.
It will come out after the remake of EOIII.
Bunny Bushi is best Bushi.
Arcanists are just cute in general.
Personally, I'd like to see a class that can do some sort of animal morphing. They would get enormous stat gains, but they have to wearing nothing (barring accessories). Pick one or two animal transformations. They have a time limit and a cooldown period. Then their skills would differ a little between human form and animal form. For example, if they had a dragon transformation, they would a fire-based skill and depending on which form they are in, it could be calculated by either TEC or STR.
At least that's my idea. They probably won't do something like that.
EO1/U: Hexer or dark hunter. Can't decide.
2: Jack Frost gunner
He's based on Gabriel Cunningham from Trauma Team. How can you not Luke him?
I was thinking about this, and although it'd be really stupid, I kinda want a puppy class to serve as a trobadour or hexer proxy in the next game.
>Makes the party happy, boosting their stats
>Runs around enemies, confusing them
>Pees on them to paralyze and poops to inflict fear
You don't have to grind.
Equip everyone in your team with two bash walls and if possible buy yourself a bash mist.
On turn 1, open up with
War Might Ronin
War Might DH
Revenge or whatever floats your boat
Turn 3 onwards
Just hit him with your strongest moves.
The EO1 artbook seems to have what appears like an early Imperial design, so we might see them eventually
>Just starting this series because friend said he hated it
>Shit is cash the fuck was he on
>omg Medics and Alchemists rule the first seven floors
I eventually leveled up to beast his ass. I'm just miffed all I have to show for it is an item that doesn't become a cool weapon for the next five/ten floors.
Says you. If I can keep that useless ass robot in Shining Force in my party right until the last fight, then my dream of an all-mech girls team from the Knight Sabers guild will become a reality
They're really on good until you get to post game and you start doing crazy gimmicky sub-class builds. The other class you can unlock instead would be better for getting through the game first
To be fair it is a niche dungeon crawler. I recently picked up the third on a recommendation because I heard it was the most accessible. Having fun so far, got to the first boss and got decimated so I guess I need to grind for equipment and items before I try it again.
No EOV that's why
Best girl also needs to be in it
This is best girl though. ATLUS says so
