Man, just beat the 4th dragon of EO4 a few hours ago. Felt pretty good about it, though I really relied on clutch head snipe (with quickstep). Only the last boss of the 6th stratum left now, but I think I'm in for some grinding before beating him.

Anyway

EO1: Huh, I dunno, it's been too long. Kinda liked the Survivalist, I guess.

EO2: The bear.

EO3: Hard one, so many good classes. The summoner guy was pretty inventive, and I really liked the concept for the prince and the robots as well.

EO4: Arcanist.

OH SHIT

Only played EO2 but are EO games the only ones that do instant kill attacks right? Climax was fucking awesome, it made some boss fights a lot easier just because it effectively reduced the max HP of a boss. It also made FOEs and stronger monsters a lot easier to deal with.

My Ronin specialized in the instant kill attacks for a while which was extremely helpful during exploration. Some enemies were so tough they could cost quite a bit of hp/tp to kill (FOE especially) that rolling for the instant kill could be a lot more resource efficient than trying something else.

Aside from this, what's your problem? Just spam heavy damage with midareba and try to force skill with dark hunter. Survivalist and hexer should focus on keeping up buffs and shit. Also it is highly negligible to not get the war magus' +atk or +def buff. You could also poison it since that's what I did with my hexer although it takes awhile for it to stick.

Defender/Hoplite/Fortress. Every game. I've lost count of the situations I would have been completely fucked without one in my party.

They're not glamorous, they don't deal truckloads of damage, but they are indispensable.

While there's an EO thread up, any tips for the Ant Queen in EO:U? I can beat her down to < 50% pretty easily, then I start running out of flash bombs to stave off the minion FOEs and she starts doing a truckload of damage and my healing can't keep up. Playing story mode, so no party switching is possible. Level 36, playing on Expert. Don't remember having this much trouble in EO1 at this point.

Started playing EO3 after beating EO4 cuz I got fed up with 4th stratum. Find out I have a Shogun/Gladiator with maxed 5-Ring Sword and Charge.

Almost all RPGs have "death" skills. But usually they're trash.

They're pretty good in SMT because when enemies are weak to them (which is frequent) they have a really, really high chance of working.

Alrighty, got a full party of lvl 33s, nightseeker with 4/10 ice knife max bladefury and speed boost, dancer with fan/sword dance max and only the novice waltzs tangos and samba's, arcanist with even distribution across the board for novice skills and half veteran, fortress with max line guard and taunt, and a medic with basic healing crap. I think I gots to respec them all, God damn did I ever fuck up on that, it's pretty bad now that I look at it. Haven't really focused on one thing which you're supposed to do in EO games.

It's been some months since I first faced Scylla haven't played much lately.
Here's what I have
Beast Lv 31 | Landsknecht Lv 38
Hexer Lv 29 | Survivalist Lv 39 | Medic Lv 39
Hexer skills are Poison and Frailty but still got 8 points left to distribute.
The Beast is pretty weak, wish I remained with Protector.
Landsknecht is good to explore but is kinda weak in boss fights.
Medic to heal and res.
Survivalist the only one that deals damage.
I also have a Lv 33 gunner that I rested and put everything in biding skills but they never work on scylla. All I got are misses every time I try to hit her with gunner.

Not sure what to do but grind some levels until I get strong enough to kill Scylla.

Yep, got it finally. I wasn't aware that the minion ants disappear when you destroy the last egg. Had I known that, it would have been trivial and obvious. The fight was still long and drawn out, but at least it was possible without them interrupting to buff the queen.

Personally, I'd like to see a class that can do some sort of animal morphing. They would get enormous stat gains, but they have to wearing nothing (barring accessories). Pick one or two animal transformations. They have a time limit and a cooldown period. Then their skills would differ a little between human form and animal form. For example, if they had a dragon transformation, they would a fire-based skill and depending on which form they are in, it could be calculated by either TEC or STR.

At least that's my idea. They probably won't do something like that.
