Mother 2, for now the closest to an English translation you'll get is its US release as Earthbound.

I think the guys who translated Mother 3 also translated the Mother 1 part of Mother 1+2 for the GBA.

Avoid the Mother 2 part of the GBA port, it's pretty awful and utterly glitchy compared to the original Mother 2 / Earthbound on the SNES. The Mother 1 part was apparently really improved though.

The reason Mother 2 is partially translated in Mother 1+2 is mainly the really chaotic control code. It's amazing how it was even localized on the SNES.

Slingshot and the Yo-Yo have 13/16 accuracy. The Sand lot bat, which can be found at the Blue Blue Drusgtore, and the Tee ball bat, which can be bought at the Onett drugstore, have much better accuracy and are decent weapons for that point in the game.

No idea what the hexidecimal portions do, but I think the rest is self-explanatory. The letters are printed in the textbox one character at a time. PAUSE stops the printout requires the player to press A to continue scrolling the text. LINE starts printing characters on the next line down in the text box. OPENWIN and CLOSEALLWIN open and close text boxes. DELAY delays the printing of the next following characters to denote speech patterns. Not sure about GOSUB, maybe it's the character names?

This commercial always gives me the chills. It might be a little cheesy looking but I still find it amazing. That robot at the beginning and how it stares down at Ninten and his friends with some spotlight-sort of glare and that whole dang song. The lyrics to it are amazing and fit the original song perfectly, too.

I don't know why, but when I think back to Earthbound, I just get this weird feeling. Like everything I knew was innocent and pure.
