Best time I've ever had playing a game. It was a truly magical moment when you first got this back in the day and booted it up to be greeted by the Darnassus Night Elf intro.

I could spend hours at a time running around the world and I'd be having the time of my life every second. You'd group with people for quests or dungeons, get stuck on them for fucking ages and make strong as fuck friendships.

All those moments are lost in time like tears in rain.

There was, ever been to the North of Ascalon in the EotN parts? There's a fuckload of them there.
You also saw more death because during your Shiverpeak trek you were with the people, before the Shiverpeak trek you were pretty much a Spec Ops. unit operating behind enemy lines. No Ascalonians to see there.

You do have a point, the Black Vanguard still operating during EotN did imply that Ascalon held out all that time, but the degree to which it did and the state it was in was left vague.

I still think the Lich was the best villain considering how intimately involved he was with manipulating the heroes throughout. Varesh was like Randall Flagg or Giygas - no one else really makes contact with her at all except Morgahn and Bayel and her character is stagnant and uninteresting throughout her transformation. Every weapon could dps for warrior, even hammer. Axe, hammer, and sword all had at least one meta build and every single one did good dps. Axe was all about deep wound and aoe, hammer was all about knockdowns and aoe, sword was simply aoe damage.

Axe was mostly a pvp thing, for spike teams. Hammer was always ok if only for the knockdowns. I always preferred dragonslash for pvp though, hammer was my pve thing.

He's specifically talking about hammers being good for DPS. They aren't and never have been. They are about crowd control. And deep wound is easily the best condition in game to apply, it's essentially a free 100 extra damage on top of whatever attack you did. And axe could spam that shit for days, and then you have carp like cyclone axe and triple chop.

The only thing that can compare is hundred blades in very specific situations.

There are really old pictures on my portable HD of my old guild from Anarchy Online from nearly a decade ago.
