There are a few sections of "hold forward to win", but those are well balanced with combat segments. And there are tons of unique mechanics too. For example, the purple girl has a Ristar-like charge attack which also serves as a mobility method, the green one can climb walls Mega Man X-style and has a motorcycle and the white one can create shields. It's pretty damn fun.

Wow they added new music and voice acting and touched up the sprites a tiny bit, but they're still just retraced sonic sprites.

I used to use things like blackcats, but my ISP throttles my upload to a molasses pace. No matter what I try, my maximum upload speed is 150Kb/s (despite having 5+Mb/s doanload). Thus, I cannot use private trackers due to being unable to keep a decent ratio.

So after spending a good few minutes on the demo I just wanna say that while the art isn't great it's servicable, and the game handles like a dream. Not sure if I'd recommend it at $15 but it's easily worth $10.

I feel sorry for the devs of this. They made a legitimately good, if not great, game, but they can't escape the 'original character, do not steal' stigma, despite their characters looking better than anything any OC 'artist' has ever put out. I've probably had more fun with this than any other game I've played this year, so far, though, admittingly, I am a huge fan of the original Sonics, and even the newer ones to some extent.

Basically, don't be an asshole, try the demo at least before you automatically decide it's shit. If you don't like it, maybe fast just isn't for you.
