Marth isn't that hard to use if you spend some time with him, I don't really get why an "easier Marth" was necessary.

Unlike Metaknight who was also supposed to be a beginner character I think Lucina is going to be low tier and the only people who will use her will do it because they like Lucina and not because they're serious about winning. In the hot springs DLC the MU tells Lucina that it's a mixed bath.
