It says here that you don't play on the hardest setting.
i play on normal first. and if i like the game i will play it again on hard.
i don't mind playing a game multiple times if its fun
>can't choose hardest setting unless you've beaten the game on 2nd hardest difficulty
Depends on the game. If all I'm doing is playing the game longer due to enemies having more hp or taking less damage, then what's the point.
If I master the fights on normal I can just as easily beat them on hard.
You might want to stop outsourcing your background checks.
>Choose Hardest difficulty
>Game doesn't require you to change your strategy whatsoever or seek to challenge you but instead opts to completely fuck the pacing of the game by making enemies damage sponges and effectively making every encounter a boring, tedious chore
yeah nah, call me when there's a modern developer that isn't a fucking cunt
>play dark souls 2
>accidently join champions guild no knowing what it does
>go through half the game that way
>finally get lightning spears
>the next day they're nerfed from 10 to 4
>balancing was supposed to increase damage
>due to a b team error the damage is decreased along with the quantity
>Playing most games on the hardest setting nowadays is more about an exercise in patience or cheesing the AI than actual difficulty
>playing(..) on hard(..)
yeh but it sure as hell makes the experience significantly dull. What is says to me is that the devs couldn't think up of extra challenges to keep the player on their toes, so they just up the enemies health. I would much prefer it if they increased the enemy count instead
That's incorrect. You probably have someone else's profile. I always play on the hardest difficulty when given the option (don't like it when devs lock the hardest until I play through it a first time). Don't care about "artificial difficulty" nor do I do it to make a point. I just start on the hardest.
Why would I want to plays games on the hardest setting? I prefer playing for fun rather than frustration. Dont see a point in wanting added difficulty to a new game for a first run. Generally it lengthens your completion time and not in a good way.
High difficulty is better left to second run throughs in my opinion though I will play a game on hard if I hear/play part way though and it's easy as balls (Looking at you Last of Us and Ys:Memories of Celceta)
but it's high fantasy not realistic medieval
