Guys I'm up to day 25 with only 18 ship parts in Pikmin 1
am I just casual or is Pikmin really fuckin difficult later on in the game? Seems like when you make it to the Forest Navel it gets knocked up a couple hundred notches
It does, if this is your first time playing it, don't expect to get every single part. You'll likely end up with anywhere from 20-25 your first playthrough. It's really all about Pikmin and time management.
you're fucked, kiddo
,no but really, unless you complete each area in a day (which is possible, check out this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2-lQB6Z_SQ&list=PL8A8BE605029424F7 ), you're fucked
also Pikmin can be very intimidating, it's very harsh to beginners, but when you master it, it's so relaxing and fun
well in that case is their any strategy to keeping your pikmin fully stocked? I see playthroughs all the time with people's onions with numbers well over 130, whereas I've only been able to manage like 40-50 per onion by day 15
It's been awhile since I've played Pikmin seeing as how I don't own a Wii U, but I always split my Pikmin up. I brought some back to the Onion to grow more Pikmin, I had others carryinng parts, I only took certain colors with me into certain areas.
Sometimes I would just designate a certain color of Pikmin to be on nothing but grow duty while the rest of them did things, and I would switch it out as the days changed, to keep optimal amount of Pikmin equal between them all.
It takes some time to get used to managing pikmin, learning how to fight enemies, and organizing time during the day.
Just get used to constantly planning out your days on the map, try to aim for 1-2 parts a day.
Use the C-stick (or d-pad on Wii).
The bright side is that pikmin 2 has no time limit.
oh sure, could you send me the Wii port of Pikmin 2 so I don't have to deal with the stressful as shit time limit, and maybe throw in Pikmin 3 if you're feeling generous
no seriously though, what are those ominous floating elephant guys in the Distant Springs? I've not done well enough to warrant fighting any of them since I'm gonna start over now, but they're really disarming and I'm frightened
Those are Puffyhogs. Because your pikmin are at a high risk to be blown in water, try to take them out with only blue pikmin. They can't directly hurt you otherwise and enough pikmin can drag them to the ground.
Puffy Blowhogs. They blow your pikmin away, off ship parts, and into hazards such as water and enemies. It's usually best to kill them before you have your pIkmin carry parts back. Use Yellows preferably since they're thrown the highest , but always use blues near the water. (which is most of the distant sprinhttp://www.google.com/recaptcha/api/image?c=03AHJ_VutuPIZPfF_ZU9nWMuxxNq3CM8ChXQxy3hMLB-y1eclsAevu871eFhZKwMBXEKrmtkI_LZnBM4VEaK21CVOUsQAk18e-BmY3vmPWkfjAg9QMqIln8hhbp6ipvWBwxtvBO5nyRZcWNzMkJdOumKDnThhBtfxkOn2q4lVD5U9p07CjrUgn3IAAn1lD6Ipdq-j7FdX8-ugOdt-mRnRSpW8ibOQAFG2QLIMpneg1-Gp-NO3K7y7Dzy1piULmeE1fl7QCymRvWJ8RJ0_bvsdxAr3XRGSd6mIRtkdsR1O64U7bbISjcDlpEb4&th=,8bDXJ49-WHg0LrYROC7tvbSHqvAAAAA1oAAAAAXYAMsmOq4pYVYQcJiToy9utIz4boWYB47LC1gw40ONGHlS3XR4R6icEFPauEoPzApaO-SBAbbXvHGRDt4r4QAnJJXtE8aDRQMzRDHh1gJ9cAVNC-S5jFMMfOrqH_cC77e10fpLda5WaFLD_HgUCB7v2mI5tVl3gRRUtrnkKtVOitlOgmiahmnfGTEBKJHcioIFtuPyyUL22vEmQvVYcSE2jpYyehoyrrtZ6-3dnd0IkfITdM6Thzt8_4nyw-iECbuiNE-euTBFQ_SyTyX93wg)
They remind me of like 3 week old puppies. They really don't understand anything and are thrown into a violent world where a guy is just tossing them around and fucking with them.
They have limitless trust in you anon. You're their leader and you give order to their lives. They want nothing more than to follow your every order and succeed with you . You are just experiencing undying loyalty. They await every order you will give and treat you like a god.
You should listen to Ai no uta with an english translation.
I despise these things.
I can swarm a single one with 100 Pikmin and it still manages to eat one
OP, here's my advice:
Get as many ship parts as you can
In the first area you can reproduce many pikmin
The final boss takes an entire day
Gain more pikmin by matching pikmin color to pellet color
Understand the C-Stick control, if you're playing with gc controller
Depending on what day you get to the watery area, there will be a secret enemy egg there
Also, fuck you. Read the first letter of each line. 8 year old me did better than you.
Fuck this guy.
Its so stressful going into that hellhole.
>First time playing Pikmin
>Find a weird egg in Distant Spring
>Ooh, wonder if there's something cool in there?
I REGRET MY DECISION
I never had the camera problem but I agree 3 is far easier.
I'm going into the Forest Navel for the first time in this playthrough.
I despise this place. The obligatory water level is always stressful as fuck (the Distant Spring and Tropical Wilds)
The water area in 3 is a cakewalk in comparison/
I actually just started a replay of it after beating it back when it first came out. You need to git gud at being a manager.
Don't feel bad, when I first played it I literally had only five ship parts on day 30. Granted, I was only five years old, but that still has to be the worst playthrough of this game in history.
>Guys I'm up to day 25 with only 18 ship parts in Pikmin 1
If you end a day without getting at least one part just restart it, unless you are spending the day opening paths or breeding pikmin.
Are you playing the wii or GC version? even if people say otherwise, the wii version has better controls, especially for things like shooting pikmin while moving.
not true, throw a pikmin on top of a sheargrub to kill it instantly
thinking quickly will save the pikmin, i used to hate these fuckers until I learned that

because I'm a casual babby and this is my first playthrough, actually really excited to start over though and I don't often get that with games
fuck wollywogs, I've yet to figure out a better strategy than throw a handful of pikmin then call them back within seconds to avoid being squashed, so it takes forever
Pikmin 1 is kinda harsh. Once you learn how to complete puzzles and memorize the locations of the things the only real answer on how to get better is to "git gud". Educate yourself on how to fight each boss and monster, if you're losing a ridiculous amount of pikmin to a single guy then chances are you're either doing it wrong or you haven't figured out the most optimal way to handle him.
During my first playthrough I ended up getting at least one part a day.
You only need 25/30 specific parts to get a okay end, and all 30 to get a good end.
The last boss is brutal. He ended up killing all my pikmin except 3.
When you learn where the parts are and how to get to them and such you will be able to clear out al evel and collect a few in the day or set it up so you get like 3 or 4 parts over a 2 day thing,
on day 3 i go back to level 1 with my red pikmin because the first level is the best for stocking up, and then when i unlock the other pikmin i go back and dedicate a day to them aswell.
Also you dont need to get all 30 parts some of them are optional
It depends, if I'm just gonna go back to the world the next day when I'm only missing one piece, you bet your ass I'm gonna restart and try to get it on the same day, unless it's impossible.
>Leave one behind
>He rushes to the ships as they're taking off
>Is eaten alive
