I'm gonna be completely honest. I played P3 on PSP and enjoyed it and I loved p4 and re-bought it when Golden came out. I had actually played the regular P3 on PS2 when it came out. I skipped out on FES because I didn't know the epilogue was such a big thing and thought it would only amount to about 30 minutes more of content. An actual summation is this:

Nyx itself isn't an entirely evil entity. It came to Earth because people yearned for it, egged on by Strega and the fact that the MC returned to the city, reawakening a piece of Nyx in the process. Or, really, it was the piece of Nyx inside of him that called him back to the city. Anyways, the only way to stop Nyx's true form is to perform the The Great Seal. MC becomes a door, but he's not blocking Nyx from getting to Earth. He's blocking all of humanity's malice and desire for self-destruction from reaching and summoning Nyx. In P4 Arena, Elizabeth says her main goal is to try and free P3 MC from being a Door.

At the end of her story she gets the Wild Card, a sign of a journey about to begin.

I'm thinking that Elizabeth will learn the true meaning of friendship or something, and defeat Nyarlothetop in P4AU, and use him as the seal, and free P3's soul.

But since P3's body is long since gone and rotted, MC can't return to the living world, so he and Elizabeth will guide others through their journeys so that they may find the answer as well.
