>got myself an android
>my boy! emulator
>all those classic games now handheld, perfect emulation, save states, linking, everything
Why haven't you joined the smartphone master race?
Do you hate having a good life?
>Why haven't you joined the smartphone master race?
Everyone and their mothers are already part of the smartphone race. You must be a poorfag to finally get into it right now.
Get a job so you can join the idort master race, faggot.
Stay playing games with terrible touch screen controls. Fucking weirdo.
And for the record I do own an Android, but why the fuck would I want to play GBA games on it when they control like garbage? There are so many other superior alternatives.
First one to name your favourite gba games gets to stay on my thread
Well the dude could be using any of the fucking plethora of controller options
If your ass is rooted you can attach everything from a PS3/360/Wii/3rd Party Android controller to it
tho i've been playing it on my psp instead. my smarthone sucks dick and has a tiny ass screen and only runs android 2.2, so no. also
>depleting the battery of your phone to play games so when you finally need it's kaput
>charging your phone more than once every 10 days
so much for master race
Oh Boy! Oh boy, Frobbie! Why don't cha share those superior alternatives with us all
Call me a poorfag one more time and I will explode your computer with my overclocked titan gpu
I'd rather emulate on my portable device from my comfy couch or stream my games to it
Weird how folks prefer doing shit differently from you right?
So buy a $5 clip and make a ghetto Nvidia Shield
Pokemon yellow and Metroid 2 on muh seethrough Gameboy pocket.
I want to buy a smarthphone after all these years. Im currently looking in some Chinese brands since those are cheaper.
Found a smartphone from Jiayu the G4. Looked up some reviews on some forums about Chinese smartphones and the cost for peformance are good.
Anyone some advice? On Chinese smartphones or smartphones in general.
Besides I only want to spend 170 euros max on a phone and the G4 sells between the 115-170.
I will probably only use it for Whatsapp, kik or facebook. Gotta keep the boys thirsty for me :3
I've got a
Windows phoneand my emulator of choice has a setting that vibrates on button inputs, it's a little thing but it makes games much easier to play. If there are any Android/iOS emulators that do that I recommend giving it a try.
I don't get all the hate for touch controls, it's no real different to console shooters and keyboard fighters. Sure it's not optimal but it gets the job done and sometimes it's simply more convenient which actually does matter.
Where you planning on buying from?
When it comes to Asian electronics over $100 USD alot of non Western sites exaggerate the specs
Outside of emulators very few Android games require controllers though
Portal and Half Life 2 I know require it. but that
Possible Mount and Blade
Okay. The first is an actual GBA, obviously. Preferably the SP with the good backlight or a Gameboy Micro. The thing has actual buttons so you can actually play anything that isn't a turn based RPG effectively.
The second is pic related, the dingoo. Its a nice cheap little portable emulation machine that also has actual buttons, much like an actual GBA.
How is it performance wise? I read that it has some Chinese apps on it that you cant remove but that aint much of a problem.
Still looking into where to buy it from, but as I said I have looked around on Western forums about Chinese smartphones. The forums are very detailed and guide you which brands to trust and which not, which shop is reliable and which not etc. It also has a lot of user feedback so Im not worried about the performance since I cant get a smartphone for a price like that here.
>download the jailbreak
>plug your phone in
>run the jailbreak
>press the button
>wait a few minutes
>unplug your phone
>Outside of emulators very few Android games require controllers though
>Portal and Half Life 2 I know require it. but that
>Possible Mount and Blade
I only have so many pockets, dude. Phone in one, keys and wallet in the other. Things like these are great but sometimes it's just not an option.
>GBA: postage stamp edition
Nigga please, have you actually tried using one of those?
I've only ever played Fire Red on my phone via My Boy!
Fuck that noise for $50 you can easily pick up a 3K Series PSP or PSPGO and get better emu support and actual games
Or for $150-$200 you can get this beast of an emulation machine
>Specs on par with the newest phones
>Actual fucking controller
>Great Battery Life
>Console/PC Streaming if your IQ is above 10
I'm still waiting for Android phone-console hybrids to become the norm. I can't stand touch controls even on games that don't require precision.
WP's app market has come a long way, we're only really missing the fad games like that Kim Kardashian game and really who here cares?
8.1 and Cyan (for Nokia master race) are rolling out as we speak
Can you actually play those on a real Android? If so that's really cool. what even is a Shield, just like a handheld Ouya or what?
And my ass forgets to add the picture
This is the closest you can get right now
Use it like a portable device or close it and hook it up to a monitor and use it like a console with any BT or Wired controller as long as its rooted
If I could find a decent controller attachment for my phone, I might consider it. Touch controls are horrible for anything that isn't turned based like pokemon or fire emblem.
>not playing games on original hardware
It's easy to forget how many 1996 kids there are here now.
Being 27 myself, I can barely stand emulators. I only emulate if it is a game there is no way for me to get, or a fan translation. Other than that, fuck emulators, and especially FUCK emulators on a phone.
>wanting disgusting inaccurate touch controls
My Nexus 5 emulates DS games, it's great
Also crippled girls, if you're into that thing
Emulation's fine, dude. Beats buying a game again to get it at 1080p. You're just being pretentious.
>hurr muh original experience
>but im playing the games the way the developers intended! fuck all you kids who want a solid framerate and crisp picture!
Shadow of the Colossus on PS2 was garbage. Pretty good game emulated above 10fps.
I ask myself the same thing every time I look at my 3DS
>OY VEY LOOK ITS THE LEGENDS OF ZELDAS
>LOOK GOYIM A REHASH OF A GBA GAME SOLD AT FULL PRICE
>AND LOOK FULL PRICED SNES ROMS AND GBA ROMS
And my ass got it at launch for roughly $300 after tax
Shit runs flawlessly
But what my ass is waiting for is the Shield 2
>Better battery life
And before you go why does any of that matter
Portable GC and Wii emulation would be fucking amazing
Drastic - DS
PPSSPP - PSP
MAME4DROID - Arcade shit
SuperGSNES - SNES
Myboy - GBA
EPSX - PS1
Are the ones I use
Also the fact that the only way to run Cave Story is with PPSSPP is fucking sad
Although I was surprised to find out the PSP had alot of VN's ported to it via homebrew
But I am, I've been playing the 2nd Pokemon TCG game on the GB emulator. The phone works great for slow-paced games, but anything that requires even a hint of action will be shit on a phone due to the touchscreen controls.
I actually did get one, and there is a noticeable amount of lag when trying to use my DS3 controller on my phone. Action games ended up running much better on my PSP sadly.
I'll never get to complete these since my normal backlog is xbox huge even without emulator vidya. I just don't add emulator games into my backlog list since I'd make me weep in despair.
I'll probably try completing the Resident Evil games once I'm done with Quake.
Good luck getting one out of China at that price though
But seriously though Xiaomi is putting alot of pressure on big companies
>46 inch 4K TV
>K1/2GB/32GB Tablet that shits on the Ipad Mini both spec wise and in aesthetics
i have a galaxy s2 and a Gametel controller i got for $10
i can play a shit ton of emulators it's fucking great
gonna get an S4 next week so I can play some stuff better, i have a DS emulator but it's only good for Phoenix Wright on a S2.
Dude, I'm already part of it
Samsung Galaxy S4 - Running a Vanilla ROM.
>My Old Boy!
I also have a Nexus 7 but the thing is cracked and I'm getting it repaired this week for a total of 70 euros
Apps worth mentioning:
Splashtop Gamepad THD
Splashtop (if you use a controller)
XCom: Enemy Unknown
>Enjoy you're botnet
Check out a local used phone store. it'll probably be located in your nearest ghetto. bring your A-game and haggle em down on the price. I got my Galaxy s2 for $150 and it was only about a year old and in perfect condition. They have an S4 Active for $250 and I'm gonna try and talk em down next week if they've still got it.
Seriously, buying phones used is a fucking steal, the S4 Active goes for $450 brand new at the T-mobile store and that ghetto as fuck store only wants $250 for it and it has literally nothing wrong with it. You can get something name brand for cheap.
Well, I just talked to a guy in my local Shopping Center about how much it'll cost to repair a Nexus 7 with a cracked screen. He said 70 euros.
I kinda miss reading Doujins, watching my Japanese Animes and streaming my PC screen to my Tablet when I'm in bed.
Fucking lack of sleep is getting to me
Also something with the specs of the Nvidia Shield 2
The general shape of the Vita
Bam son i'd pay $300 for that shit easy
To all the people bitching about touch controls and then bitching when people say to get a controller, the Gametel controller is $10 on amazon and is really fucking small. I fucking love having it
everyone has a fucking smartphone you late to the party poorfag cunt
everyone who's had a smartphone for more than 30 seconds knows they're utter shit for games
or you could just emulate on your pc
the portability thing is completely gone as soon as you mention additional controllers
All games worth emulating on GBA.
I would have added Boktai but you can't emulate it properly - the cart had some weird solar detector thing that you needed to play the game
>everyone who's had a smartphone for more than 30 seconds knows they're utter shit for games
Ive been from android phone to android phone for 4 years and i can tell you right now they are not shit for games. most of the emulators i used work great, even on my shitty S2
And that affects me and my current shield how?
>$150 for specs on par with a $700 smartphone
>Being able to stream on the device or output my emulators/PC games to my 60 inch
Gonna have to explain that one in detail
>And that affects me and my current shield how?
There are controllers that are both though, my gametel is smaller and thinner than my phone, i recommend it for people who carry a lot of shit in their pockets and dont have a lot of room for more
>$5 HDMI cable
>No wifi, no input lag from streamed games
>play whatever the fuck i want on my tv
I get that you're trying to rationalize buying the shield but these are the same arguments people who have OUYAs use.
>only has D-Pad and Action Buttons and weird as fuck ''Shoulder Buttons''
I like the nVidia Shield but I prefer just using a Gameklip on my S4 and stream games to my phone using Splashtop and then I can play vidya with a contoller in my bed.
Folks gonna bitch though
Shit my main complaint of that little device is lack of joystick analog stick
I have no idea what you're even going on about
Also what the fuck do you even mean by no Wifi?
Not him, but sometimes playing with a portable device at home is pretty comfy.
Laying in bed playing some vidya is chill as fuck.
I can't wait 'till the Wii U gamepad is properly hacked and can be used on PC
>Not getting yourself the perfect controller for a good price
>Shit my main complaint of that little device is lack of joystick analog stick
>>only has D-Pad and Action Buttons and weird as fuck ''Shoulder Buttons''
it's for things that dont need joysticks like NES/SNES/GBA/DS/Genesis games. i cant play any 3d games on my shitty old S2 anyway so it doesnt affect me. i can see how that would be a problem if you wanted to play, for example, n64 or psp games
The Shield has Wifi
And the Ability to stream both via HDMI and Wirelessly to CC Devices or TV's with it built in
And there is no input lag
What the fuck made you think a $200 android device would be sold without Wifi?
Man who the fuck uses paypal on his mobile phone. All im gonna do on it is whatsapp, kik and facebook. Besides why should I worry about Chinese products? Im considering to buy a Xiaomi Mi3 after reading tons on it and it seems reliable.
I'm more of a PSP emulator fag and PC Game Streamer. Well, atleast it suits your particular situation
Spent 350 euro on S4 at release, emulated PSP, DS, SNES, NES, PSX, N64 and some other shit. PSP upscaled to my native resolution of 1080x1920 and I've beaten God Eater Burst, Kingdom Hearts and also Persona 3 Portable twice at native resolution and upscaled to look nicer.
Also lets me read doujins and shit so I got my money's worth.
PS VIta - $200
PSP - $ 90
3DS - $170
For that price of the Vita you got a Shield
For the Price of the PSP you can get a 2nd hand Iphone 4S/Galaxy S3
For the Price of the 3DS you can get a 32inch HDTV
Shit son stop paying for brand name shit when it comes to electronics and look at the hardware
>playing GBA games on a smartphone with shitty touchscreen controls
>not just buying a $30 PSP that allows you to play PSX, GBA, SNES and PSP games flawlessly with great controls and a better looking screen
>Better looking screen
And I thought my vision was shit
Are you the G4 guy from before?
Because it really is an alright phone and im assuming your getting the 4G model since it offers expandable storage?
Physical buttons are a must. Unfortunately, choice of android controllers in my country was limited to ipega or, but it's not bad.
Shits $200 and portable and does 99% of what any smartphone does
Deal with it nerd
But it is not pocketable
>MUH SANDY Vagina
Then get an S3 used and any of the gameclips posted here for $200 or less
Kainy look into it
Splashtop is better but no fullscreen support is shit
Yea im the G4 guy. Im conflicted now between the G4 and the moto g. Reason why is because the moto g im eyeing now has 4g connection and is only 50 euros more, though a bit lower in specs I will only use it for social apps.
Besides that the 150 euros I can get the G4 for isnt certain since the customs can tax more money on it, plus I havent mentioned the other payment stuff while I can get the moto 4g for 199 without delivery costs.
The Netherlands, I also looked at the S3 but the specs arent that much different of that of the moto g. Besides that, I feel safer with a smartphone that hasnt been used rather then one that has been used which I pay 50 euro less for.
Besides that, I aint buying shit from the UK since it will be more expensive considering that the Pound is worth more now then the Dollar and Euro.
Let's take an objective look at the Shield shall we.
>Tegra is dumpster trash
>therefore it needs a fan lol
>bulky and huge, therefore not portable
>controls are not comfortable at all
>half the features unusable without a Nvidia GPU
>more expensive than the 3DS and Vita
>Tegra is dumpster trash
Emulates everything as best as the emulators can handle and allows for oc'ing and runs every native android game perfectly
>therefore it needs a fan lol
Yes a tiny little fan that you can only hear when you put your ear to it, also this means its under underclocked to save battery life like on smartphones
>bulky and huge, therefore not portable
It can fit in a bag just fine, but its not pocketable or takes up as much space as a laptop
Nope weighs as much to me as a 360 controller with some duracells
>controls are not comfortable at all
Its a 360 controller, its mighty comfy
>half the features unusable without a Nvidia GPU
>more expensive than the 3DS and Vita
3DS is $180 and the Vita is $200
Shields go new for $200 and used for $150
Then yea im looking into importing shit into the netherlands and the insurance/fee's/vat would well put it over your price
Shame because the G4 really is stronger than the Moto G
Tell me about it. Fucking vat and taxes are horrid here. 21 fuckking %. If I would buy it at 150 I will end up with around 182. Import and sending fee will probably make it 202 and then I have to get past the customs. I read stories about it slipping through or customs taxing it with an extra 40 euros.
Use non-buffered rendering.
If you want to use buffered rendering, turn all hacks on instead.
Don't go over 3x resolution.
Everything else should be tuned on and off as performance requires.
Im assuming you mean Singapore
But yea the S3 can handle PSP/DS emulation just fine
And everything below that is peachy
My test for this is trying out the free walking dead games
If it runs it smooth there's nothing you cant play fine
If it lags you might have speed issues with PPSSPP/Drastic
fuck off, i'm playing my favorite SNES game on my DSi homebrew card.
jesus christ, mobilefags are gonna be extremely annoying when Apple Pippen 2 and Google's console is announced
I used to have an android with a slide out keyboard, shit was cash. Even could play stuff like Castlevania and Metroid Zero Mission on it. Now I have a galaxy and mostly play fire emblem.
Still better than any of the shitty mobile games.
Guess I could ask here.
Is there a program similar to xpadder on PC where I can assign touchscreen inputs to a physical controller, for say, FFIII from the Google Play store? The movement with touch sucks dick and if I could somehow map it to a controller, that would be cool.
>actually owning an android phone
I want the normies to leave /v/
You don't own a phone you fucking normies, stop giving the phone jews your shekels, a true /v/irgin stays at home on his vidya as a NEET. Why do you even need one? Don't tell you have friends you fucking fags
>thinks calling someone normal is an insult
Or get one with a physical keyboard. They're far superior anyway
It's only good with buttons.
I've played through a lot of Spyro on RetroArch.
How can you even be this mad about how someone lives their life? I work and make money, I have friends, and I play vidya. These things don't need to be exclusive you know. I think sitting at home being lonely and collecting welfare is fucking stupid.
Okay, whatever. You're obviously having "fun" doing what you're doing, and you can't see any way. And you call me a slave. Believe me when I tell you I have way more freedom than you do, friend.
yeah, you wake up, work, sleep, wake up, work, sleep.
You actually have no idea what you're talking about. If you hate ignorance so much, why do you perpetrate it? Why speak on things you know nothing about? I mean, you clearly don't know what it's like to work, so how do you know what it like? You don't have any friends, so you can't ask them. You're the most ignorant person here, fuckboi.
It's at this point where I really hope the whole thing has been an epic five star ruse cruise, because nobody can be this fucking deluded and brainwashed. Working doesn't mean slaving away in the shekel mines for some jewish bogeymen or underground lizard peopel or whoever the internet has told you about. If you left the basement once in a while you'd see the world isn't the big mean bully-filled high school you think it is.
I do leave my basement normie, I've been all over the world to Rome, Paris, New York and I've done it using YOUR hard earned money. I'm the jew you work for you stupid little goyim, all NEETS are, why do you think we're the master race?
So, any way to bypass google play region lock for paid apps? I'd like to read Planetarian on the go and I don't mind paying.
Some mobile games are bretty gud
But they're like one in a thousand
Ugh, I really couldn't get into the Dead Space one. I might have been playing it on too small a screen or something, but it really let me down and I wasn't expecting that much to begin with.
There's an Android port?
>carrying a controller in your pocket when you go outside
>calling someone else a faggot
Nvidia are getting people to do a bunch of Android ports. Valve's meant to be porting their entire library.
I still prefer using my PSP for emulation, plus I like the PSP library of games. I know my Nexus 5 has way better hardware than my PSP, but touch controls are ass.
>b-b-but you can get a controller
I don't want to carry a controller everywhere just to play a game for 20 minutes or so.
Yooooooooo. I always forget there's like a crazy expanded universe to this series, since I really only played the mainline three. And read the comics, but those were just cool.
Alright, Alright time to end this "mobiel phoen is normulfag"
First. It is IMPOSSIBLE to function in my country without mobile phone. Why? The goverment decided to digitalise every single goverment related thing. In fact it is impossible to get autism bux, school funding or whatever without a cellphone or a phone which can receive text messages.
Sure if you live in some second grade 1st world country you can live without but not here. Yes, it gives a shittone of problems. The goverment said fuck you to the elderly.
In fact I am afraid that my country is heading towards a scenario the likes of Watch dogs. I wanted to receive some free school funding from the goverment for next year but I cant since I NEED a mobile phone to receive some text verification and this is not a 1 time only thing, its for every, single, goddamn time you log in.
It is. It's still a solid game despite all the cash shop bullshit. I wasn't as upset about that as the fact that they didn't even try to give it any atmosphere or tension. It has some really good moments, like trying to fight your way across the surface of the planet without freezing to death, but otherwise it's only just not bad.
I would say you aren't missing much if you haven't played it. Get it on the cheap (or pirate) if you really want to play it, but I think it falls into those "it's a good game just not a good _________ game" unfortunately.
