Sonic's really unfortunate to have one of the worst fanbases in gaming. Whenever a game that doesn't play like their favorite style is mentioned, they automatically say that those games are terrible. I really don't understand why the "fans" that say "Sonic hasn't been good since..." still follow the series today. They should know by now that Sonic Team is going to keep making new gameplay styles every few games and that their favorite version will never come back to stay.
I sometimes wonder if they would be happier as Mario fans since Mario doesn't change nearly as much.

The problem with this is that they never perfect one. They do something, start to work out the kinks, then drop it for something completely different.
While Unleashed, Colors, and Generations both play similarly, they're all so different with their own pros and cons that they could be combined into a really great game.

I just wish that the fanbase was more positive and would actually look forward to or at least speculate about new games. There are things that I would like to say about Sonic Boom for example, but I'm not allowed to because of the fans' pessimism. to be honest with you I'm not as pessimistic as some other people are, and after the shock cooled down on me, there's this thing in my brain, that Sonic Boom is going to be one of those games that will get better as you progress, aka the upgrades and what-not, heck, maybe they'll include stuff in it that will make button mashing less tedious, increasing the running speed of your characters, and maybe some actually complex level design later on
