The GBA comes in a close second, though. Even though its library was smaller, it had several very high-quality games.

DS and GBA both have a load of gems but I have to give the edge to the DS for having roughly the same amount of gems on a better system. Some of the GBA stuff doesn't stand the test of time very well.

GBA. It had the best handheld Castlevanias, best handheld Fire Emblems, best handheld Metroids, best Golden Suns, solid Pokemon entries and much, much more. DS comes at a close second due to all that ATLUS/SMT support.

That's the thing. The GBA had a lot of huge names on it, but outside of that it had nothing. The games on it were literally mainstream as fuck or literally unplayable shovelware.

The DS had a much smoother library. It still had a good amount of big-name titles, but it also had a SHITLOAD of lesser-known titles that where honestly at least 9/10. Unless you actually explored its library, you'd easily be mislead.

3DS already has a bunch of ports, and the GBA library is still miles above it with games like SuperStar Saga, Mother 3, Megaman BN series, Megaman Zero series, RSEFRLG shit on XY, Metroid ZM/Fusion, Castlevania that is actually good, Summon Night SC games, etc

Who said anything about what's worthwhile or not? GBA didn't even have its own Mario platformer, all it had were tweaked versions of the Super Mario All-Stars games with inferior graphics and sound.

SuperStar Saga is probably the best game on the system, but DS had Bowser's Inside Story, which is still fantastic. Mother 3 is great but would have been better on the DS, and came out far too late in the GBA's life cycle. Mega Man is easily the most copypasta video game series there's ever been, and a shit ton of Mega Man games that play exactly like each other does not make GBA a good system. RSE were inferior to GSC in many respects and removed a lot of what they introduced, and, while FRLG were good, they were still just remakes.

The Metroids and Castlevanias were great, I'll give it that, but the GB/GBC outdid it in pretty much every other aspect, and the aspects it didn't outdo it in were outdone by the DS.

GBC had the best handheld Zeldas, GB had the best handheld Marios, DS has the best handheld RPGs and is on par with the GBA in Castlevania, etc.

GBA is fucking weak.
