Actually if you payed attention to the dev cycle at Bungie they only made ODST and Reach because they had a 5 game contract. This meant that they put more of their resources towards Destiny while they let a small team work on ODST and Reach. This also allowed them to test concept ides for Destiny such as an open world or Space Combat. We see both of these in Destiny.

Ok so I just watched some gameplay videos of the apparent miniature open world sections.

It looks fucking exactly like borderlands is my first impression, mixed with a tiny bit of halo, there isn't any escaping this.

Then I looked up the loot system, how is this going to work in pvp? Is there strict weapons in pvp or are the weapons raid only?

It seems unfair and imbalanced straight away.

It makes me proud that generation defining game artists such as Hideo Kojima, Hidetaka Miyazaki, and Hideki Kamiya know to steer clear of the PC ass cancer.

There is also main hubs and you get to upgrade your spaceship and landspeader as well. Vertical parts come more into play with the class specific jumping abilites. It's also a bit more fun and fastpaced with sliding/sprinting. Combine with the fact that the vehicles preform exactly as halo 3 ghosts/choppers and it's a fun halo 3 refresh. I love it.
