Despite being settled in a dark forest, it feels strangely soothing and safe here
I loved the towns/art/color pallet of that game so much. the environment was gorgeous. The remakes look like garbage.
>tfw you'll never play Black Hole for the first time again
>I'm safe here
The music comforted me in my early days of Dark Souls. Even...if there are skeletons a few feet away.
I'm going to get SOOOO comfy.
>Getting this pissed off at an adjective
adj. Providing physical comfort: a comfortable chair.
adj. Free from stress or anxiety; at ease: not comfortable about the interview.
adj. Producing feelings of ease or security: a comfortable person; a comfortable evening at home.
Yeah, like it used to just be slang, not a meme. Like TECHNOLOGY or funny filenames, redditor idiots forced them into some big deal. Entire threads literally centered on filenames, when they used to just be something you sneak in humorously and then someone catches and greentexts and you all have a laugh about. Technology and comfy, too, they were just things you greentexted and we all understood and nodded.
Now it's treated like feels, you force a thread for some sort of circlejerking social gratification. Yea yea, we all know that feel
: lonely desperation.
>tfw no option to live with her on the ranch, going into town, hunting and claiming bounties.
This game was comf as fuck, and I still want it on PC for mods.
I dunno man, I have to give that spot to the Nexus.
It's literally some kind of soul trapping shrine of devilry, coated in arcane runes.
And let's not forget that there's about one hundred dead monks lining the walls upstairs.
At least Majula and Firelink were outdoors, and you know, not fucking demonic death cult altars.
Nobody's using it as a blanket catch-all term. They're using the word to describe things that make them feel free from stress and anxiety, and give them feelings of ease and security.
See how words work? If you use them in a way that fits their meaning, you're using them correctly. You being pissy that a word is used correctly, but more often than you're comfortable with, holds no bearing on anybody else.
>Your wife is a literal whore
>She is a bitch whe talking with her
>You can kill entire towns
>John wont divorce her
>Bonnie gets married to some guy she dosent care for, probably dies miserable
Confiest town in any RPGs
A lot of the time i just find myself just leaving the game on so i can listen to this.
Snow areas in general are pretty fucking comfy.
She WAS a whore. You took her away from all that.
And she was a bit of a cunt, but growing up as/becoming a prostitute in the wild west will do that to you, I can imagine.
She never came off as a huge bitch, just incredibly stressed.
I liked her. Would I have liked the story better if John never had a wife/son, and ends up with Bonnie before the finale? Fuck yeah, but the wife was alright, seemed genuine.
RSE had the comfiest daycare route.
As for XY comfy areas, I am usually in Kiloude city or whatever it's called, but I don't know if that suffers the same reasoning as the daycare route in that it just contains significant parts of the post-game.
hey man, there's always a possibility..
Yeah i know but remembering the amount of hours i wasted here fishing gives me the chills.
Unless they retcon it, nope.
It just sucks there werent more banches in the story, like GTA IV/V.
You could try to save your old life, as John did. Or just make a new life as a new man.
It would play out pretty much the same though.
I also hated how I was famous, and had good karma, yet not people or nuns were present.
COMFIEST OF ISLANDS COMING THROUGH
BETTER GET THAT BLANKET READY
Yeah, the remakes are generally faithful seeing as Pokemon doesn't really change I guess. this Gen is the prettiest, and though Gen 3 doesn't really do anything the best, it's a jack of all trades sort of Gen.
Gen 3 had the best starters, legendaries and Pokedex overall. It made some of the most important and enduring changes to the gameplay, only rivaled by the physical/special split. It's also got far and away the best music if you like brass
which I do
Almost anywhere in Fable.
Oakvale, Greatwood, Hook coast, Hero's guild, Knothole glade, Northern wastes, Rose cottage, Orchid farm, Fisher creek, Darkwood bordello, and the numerous demon doors.
Fable 2 was a step back, but Oakfield and it's demon door were comfy as hell. Greatwood farm was great too, and the cemetary was nice. My only issue with the latter was not being able to repair the building, the lack of winter in the area, and the roaming undead.
Best house and area in the game
I don't have a better picture, but Heartwood was the best place in Tera.
>in a huge boss fight
>beat it by the skin of your dick
>cutscene happens, party is blown the fuck out
>land in some rural middle-of-nowhere town
>no stress or anything, just explore, talk to people, buy your items, then continue the story at your own leisure
God, nothing is better.
Let's turn it upside down
What's the most unsettling places in vidya?
While not from a horror game
Say what you will about the emptiness, incompleteness, and laziness of Minecraft
I think there are few things cozier than huddling in your nice, fortified stronghold with a crackling fire and a faithful hound as it thunders outside and zombies wander about.
I have a 4chan gold account waiting for whoever recognizes this.
yeah shame it was literally nothing of import to the rest of the game
This town from Black and White. I just love the music so much.
Played it when I was in the hospital and somehow it made me feel better. The NPC even were like "everything is gonna be alright!"
Feralas in WoW
>turned off music and turned up ambient sound
>its a overcast part rainy day outside
>listen to the distant sound of creatures making noises and the in-game rain
>just questing and leveling by myself
>You will never grind on your level 15 Magician at the Slime Tree again
RIPIP MapleStory of old. ;_;7
Gen 2 was best imo.
While Gen 3 had the best starters, gen 2 had best legendaries.
>Getting lost in a cave for hours hunting for Lugia
>Ascending the tower for Ho-oh.
>Hunting the 3 legendary dogs across the map
It also had a ton of great pokemon
Shit I cant be fucked to ist them all.
The various types of pokeballs were fun too.
All in all, my favorite gen.
Hoenn was the best region, best pokemon after gen 1, the region had a shitton of shit to explore, obscurest legendary trio method
(if they don't change the regi sidequest or make it retardedly easy to get them im going to get so fucking mad), best battle frontier, fucking Latias the first time i saw it i felt so pumped
I really hope they don't ruin the remakes, coping the best games with the worst generation is making me nervous
>grinding for a solid ten hours just to level once
Maplestory was awful.
It's pretty spot on.
Gen 3 had the best region and soundtrack tho.
Maybe not the comfiest in comparison to others, but I'll take anything other than those damn tunnels.
>Why hasn't the games lore been expanded even slightly?
Try starting a legendary origin thread on /vp/
Much as I loved JRB, gotta give it to pic related
There is no need to work much in the Pokémon world.
You get food from Pokémon, Pokémon do all the hard work. Social services like health and education are free.
And even after that, money comes for free using items like Amulet Coin, moves like Pay Day and stuff like o-powers.
It's just that, there's TONS of theories
Too much of them, could've been good to get something like the timeline of Zelda-esque from Nintendo
Why was Maplestory so comfy?
>group of adventurers go into Tam Tara
>girl is careless and lets the man she loves die
>the other adventurers blame her for it and abandon her there
>she goes crazy
>carries the man's head around
>makes a pact with demons
>invites the adventurers back to Tam Tara for her wedding with the man
Shit was spooky
Both comfy -and- chilling.
every single game has some form of major corporation
pokemon world is very similar to ours. Its slightly scifi but for the rest it works similar to ours, only with all major sports replaced by pokemon fights which in turn also explains where all the funding for all pokemon related business comes from: same place all the soccer billions do
You gotta admit that interior design was pretty ballin' in this game.
I'm so happy Pokémon games have a clear chronology. Only minimal data is missing, the exact amount of years passed from DPPt/HGSS and BW.
It's not a Zelda tier messed up thing.
Journey Man Inn was a comfy place for me, especially during the festival
Fortree looked cool, but I wouldn't call it comfy.
It was more frustrating than anything else. It always felt like it took forever to get from one part of town to the other, despite it not even being that big.
most adults in pokemon have day jobs, majority are unrelated to pokemon. Something like Sliph Co. probably has several thousand employees (they don't only make pokemon related stuff)
heck Devon Co. from RSE is stated to have started as a mining company which got massive
An updated one apparently
Yeah, isn't it
At the same time, then
I always felt Sootopolis was comfier. And it had the best music.
A whole lot of places in Chrono Cross, but especially Arni Village.
I really loved the art style of the backdrops in Chrono Cross.
I don't think people give DPP enough credit, it was comfy as hell.
That desert temple in Twilight Princess, Arbiter's Ground
>Those mummy redeads
>The impending feel of danger, having tresspassed an ancient burial tomb/prison
its sort of a shame the pokemon games are to small to properly present the actual world
from more modern games we know that pokemon is supposed to have massive cities comparable to real life, they're trying to give the illusion of size with the newest games but it isn't exactly working
iirc the Celadon-Saffron-Viridian city region is supposed to be Tokyo tier
WE NEED THE BIGGER PICTURE
Only from the point of view of local citizens. Not the whole picture.
And fan theories that get enough popularity end up being accepted as official by GameFreak, they let the fan base decide stuff in the long term.
>dfw really like how comfy it is
>get to snowy area
>haven't played since due to the sudden lack of comfy, still even have my file
Once that comfy ended, I just couldn't enjoy it.
I hate how slow it is, and I hate how retarded team Galactic is, but it probably has my favorite soundtrack in the series, and the region itself is second only to Hoenn for me.
>sniping with the Rivet Gun and fading into the shadows of the upper pipes
>never lost a game on droid town
>tfw I know the map like the back of my hand
>exiting the back of blighttown
>think i'm heading to even more bullshit
>some dragons over there
>open door with key i found
>see flooded city
>go to the lift
>firelink music starts playing as I'm climbing the stairs
>see firekeeper dead
There was a mix of sadness and comfort at that moment.
Oh man, this song.
I find them comfy because I have an awesome winter blanket and they just make me think of all the years I've spent wrapped up in it.
But I find beach areas and little tropical islands to be even cozier.
bonus points for rain
It's an eerie sort of comfy
>tfw you will never wreck your friends with slingshot coring charges in glorious next-gen graphics
This entire game really, while being spooky as fuck.
>I really love the atmospere and the music
This or the first world of DK64
>Not one mention to Lith Harbor
>tfw finally getting there for the first time
>that super comfy bgm
I don't get that game, it takes years to get to lvl 200+, but that's the place the game is actually fun to play.
Tried it on a private server with 1000x exp rate and it still took ages.
What were they thinking?
I want to live here
It makes me feel calm even now.
First time going through this fucking place.
Tokara Forest because of reasons
I never really liked Fortree. It looks really bad. A couple dozen lines of the same tree sprites plastered everywhere, five larger trees, five identical treehouses, one slightly different treehouse, a generic Pokemon Center, a generic PokeMart and a Gym.
I don't imagine much thought was put into it.
Zandalor's garden is maximum comfy. His house is too once you clear the land mines out.
I always liked the calming music and atmosphere of this place, partially ruined by the tower full of ghosts.
this was a pretty comfy zone
>it never rains there if you play on an emulator
>mfw i'll be listening to this again in a few months
please don't blew it gamefreak, please
This is the last fuck up i'll tolerate from you guys
After the hell chapters 5,6, and 7 put you through, this place feels like a goddamn haven.
It's basicly this
We don't know shit about the big picture
Pikmin 1 - Forest of Hope
Today's a new day. You're going to get some parts today. You might fight some bosses, but you'll be ready. You spent part of the day building up your army.
4chan says it has an embedded file, so here it is.
This is kinda obscure. But in Bowser's Inside Story, in the blue cave thing on the way to Bowser's Castle there is this place you can get under when you dig with Mario and Luigi. There is this small little room with a bean and a couple toadstools.
That is seriously the most comfy place ever. Anyone got a picture of that area for reference?
How has this not been posted???
>Chorrol comfiest city
Chrono cross is by far the comfiest video game ever. Rpgs in general have comfy places.
Loved this place mostly because of the music
>Sanctuary from the horrors of Hyrule
>Resting place of the Master Sword
>Implied to have been in at least 4 games (If the ruins from ALTTP and ALBW are the ToT. Not counting the SS version).
>Safehouse when you are Adult Link.
God I love the ToT. One of my favorite locations in a game.
> Eddie's garage in GTA 3
If you peak inside, you have a bed, washing machine and a TV. There's something snug and cozy about that.
RBY = RSE
Next is GSC = DPPt
i think 5 years later or some this like that BW
then 2 years later BW2
Not sure where XY fits in this, i hope they just cease to exist form the pokemon world
Bully gives me anxiety -- all I rememer is my mother coming into my room to watch my play and I could 't advance the story because it would offend her Caholic sensibilities. So instead I anxiously rode a bike around town waiting for her to leave, all the while trying to act natural. Jesus, mother.
All dot Root Towns are comfy.
its actually the bend of time, you can go there once you have access to the boat, its a tiny shining place in the water, dont remember where exactly. In ng+ you can fight Ozzy,Flea and Slash.
Its also home to the best song in my opinion. This version makes me cry.
My little corner of the world.
Shame Blizzard didn't expand on class communities and just went for factions.
yes i remember
It will never be comfy ever again. They ruined it by over-cartooning the graphics to look like playdough and making it a waifu sim that practically goes Bioware-tier in shoving it in your face
Nashira in baten kaitos was really good, the theme with the guitar is amazing.
holy shit you can play as 10 year old girls in this game?
what is the bunny hat called?
Fucking this, who the fuck has a locker in a god damn Upper middle class house like that, as if they weren't trying to for the the MISUNDERSTOOD UNIQUE SNOWFLAKE FLAMING HOMO bullshit, it makes fuck all sense, if she's having her feelings suppressed by her mum n dad then why the fuck would they let her keep a fucking LOCKER in her room.
Never even played this shit.
Fuckgame dev logic.
I loved all the houses on the countryside. Getting up at 5 in the morning, leaving your house only to see that the whole town is shrouded in mist.
But I can't believe that this hasn't been posted yet.
Megaton, assuming you are a pro and defused the bomb in the in the town. Giving your house the 1950's pre war feel is great.
The best house in all of vidya. Cozy. Productive. Beautiful. Warm.
God damn I want a successor to this game so bad. Legend of Mana for the PS1 was perfect.
Not really a place, but I always found taxi rides in the rain really, really comfy
Always idled there and went to play/do something else.
trips are fact
>comfier than Pokke
It sounds like a lullaby, although a sad one, and that's why it was always calming to me. It seems like a nice little town if it wasn't for the ghosts and it's my favourite area in the game. If you faggots didn't know about the "lavender town syndrome" bullshit then you'd probably not have the same reaction.
I always loved those levels in dkc1 as kid due to comfy.
WoW obviously is one the comfiest games ever (probably coming from the nostalgia). There are so many good places but personally I'd settle for Ashenvale, love night elf forest environments (also close to Darnassus, my favorite Capital).
>>252831316 also gives me comfy nostalgia-feels. Also big ups to >>252840009, didn't even know anybody else besides me loved that map.
Aside from the sad videos part, Icicle Inn in FF7.
Loved this entire part of the game so much.
I'm not sure if it counts as a place, but this music makes me feel comfy as fuck.
This entire fucking game.
