I don't hate it, but I don't like it. I don't go around preaching how X is better, but I tried LoL back in 2011 or something like that since I had gotten a free $50 card I forgot why. Needless to say I uninstalled shortly after, it was unpolished, not fun, I disliked the art style, and it wasn't enjoyable. Meanwhile Dota2 beta invite came later that year and I was more interested in playing that, but I stopped since it was the early stages of the game. Now? Dota2 has insane amount of polish, feedback, and is somewhat enjoyable alone and pretty fun with friends that aren't tryhards. League? It's filled with tryhards left and right. I tried to play League again awhile back due to someone wanting me to play with him, but it's just still just as bad. It's a major clusterfuck of feedback now and trying to be dota2 with it's features. It's like it has no real direction in anything while following 100% what the users want regardless how retarded the idea is. I'm sure I'm wrong, but that's my ignorant view of the game. I tried putting like 10 hours into the game initially and another 10, but it's just not fun. Meanwhile dota took about 350 or so hours of my life.

i'm studying computer engineering with the intent to use the programming and design skills i learn in school to do some modding on the side and maybe it'd be cool to get into the terrible industry that is video games later on in life when i don't have to worry about money

We live in a world that has been systematically designed so that your success in life is almost entirely dependent on what family you were born into and who that family is friends with, with the only sliver of hope you have of changing that is getting completely lucky with the exact same idea that hundreds of thousands of other people have (Shay Carl, for example)
