You know what would be a great unlockable mode in pikmin? Sandbox mode, no day timers, no day count, no pressure. You just go in do your thing explore, take the time to actually look around and take in your surroundings and just be comfy playing at your own pace.

We'll never get this mode of course. Pikmin will always be a hectic scramble to finish asap with ridiculously short days. Seriously 20 minute days even in winter in the mountains you get 8 hours between sunrise and sunset.

Figure out which order doing things in saves the most time. Make sure you've always got a captain doing a task. The best part is figuring out that you have it, so don't look up videos unless you want to spoil yourself.

The first collect treasure mission is different though where it's pretty much all action.
