I have no idea what is going but I must brouzouf
Ask someone with a complete understanding of what is going on
I did not regret this game at all
Why do you have fewer achievements unlocked than I?
>Rarest achievement showcase is all e.y.e except for 1 sf4 achievement
Heavy Armour will keep you nearly invincible but Medium Armour is a pretty good balance
For a melee build? Just focus on speed and perhaps stealth. Melee won't be able to take you through the entire game easily
>1st mission tells you pick a silenced sniper and use stealth.
>switch AI to stealth
YOU HAVE BEEN SPOTTED
Then I decided to don heavy armour, carry a minigun and pretend to be a space marine.
Streumon ideas factory.jpg
Someone needs to make that
yeah that was the first thing I did, but the medkit seems, inconsistent? also overdose risk, which I'm not 100% on the mechanics of. i actually kind of like the Alchemy thing.
I think it gets diminishing returns at higher health. The Overdose risk only happens is you use it while it's under 20 on the charge so don't use it multiple times in quick succession.
Just bought EYE and Terraria for 3 quid
Played a bit of both before but not for long so I thought it might be a good deal
Claps are too dumb to appreciate this magnificent clusterfuck of a game
It has a loading percentage, "ammunition" if you will. The more you load it, the safer it gets, the more you heal yourself.
If you clickspam it you will die. There's even an acheivement for killing your teammate this way.
It's a good practice to put some points in medicine anyway.
So what? You don't need to carry a whole arsenal with you, just 1-2 weapons plus ammo. And once you get high level you get both better weapons and higher strength for more carrying capacity.
>mfw I was reading the terminals expecting philosophy and interesting lore
What exactly does this mean philosophically?
How does one kill but not be the murderer, yet you are absolutely aware that you are the killer, yet you are NOT the one who committed the murder?
Guess I'll have to play it for this dialogue box alone.
Yeah, because having a currency one letter away from being called Squid makes you oh so intellectually advanced to other countries.
Doesn't it have some bit of lore and history followed by something like "This is where you come in. You're a highly-trained soldier working for one of the organization that are a part of Secreta Secretorum" or something like that. Sounded like some kind of a press release text for websites and took me right out of the story.
If you walk around with Excidium or Sulfatum you don't need much healing anyway. A light build would only take a good all-round combination with high ammo efficiency, like Motra + BK, or BK + melee. It has next to no weight and lets you go fast even in heavy armor.
>multiplayer is dead
>lore only barely makes sense
>enemies are psychic and know where you are even if you hack someone to death from behind a wall
>remote control hacking controls like shit
>in-mission story feels all over the place
I'm not saying it's a bad game overall, but I personally don't care for it. There's a lot of things that could use fixing.
>not realizing this is a major clue to what's going on there
I want to use a handgun and a rifle as primary weapons also want to be a type of scout/sniper as in only use handgun when out of ammo or dire situation. How should i start my charachter gene wise and what stats are the most important
Every time I'm on a mission where I'm not supposed to be seen, and I get seen, after I kill all the enemies in the area, every enemy that spawns seems to make a beeline directly for me, even if I'm in a building or another part of the map or something.
Do they just know my position at all times for the rest of that level?
The best genes are 3 Metastreums, Keep on remixing them and you can get 45+ on all stats
Stats don't really do MUCH but most important stats for a character like yours would be Accuracy
Conserve ammo and use the Heavy Armour, you'll be a walking tank
If you're going for something Scout/Snipery then just invest some into sneaking and get the cloak as soon as you can
the problem with the character rolling system is you can use the super gene to get great stats across the board. if you want to avoid that for personal reasons just go with agility and accuracy and supplement with your choice of utility from medical/psy/hacking. Psy is really strong in this game I find it hard to avoid Psy things completely (your own bot army, healing, force push, etc).
Is it even fucking possible to save Dutch on the factory level?
too fucking scared to fight through metestreumicwhatevers aloneand I want Dutch to accompany me through but all he does is sit in the room until I can't protect him anymore
Is he meant to die?
Game has a lot of promise but ultimately is very lackluster. I have played through the game probably 8 times all the way through. You will find that the maps initially seem to offer alot of variation and creativity but they really don't.
Furthermore its possible to get completely screwed in this game. For example if you do not have the right weapons by the time cyber demons show up you are up the river. Some maps will be borderline impossible for you if your relying on a clone army etc.
There's a huge maze of mine tunnels below Paris, it's easy to get lost so it's illegal to enter but obviously that doesn't stop people. There's pretty much a subculture of people who roam the tunnels and a special police unit to catch them/find lost people, it's pretty crazy
Some EYE promotional stuff seems to have footage from the tunnels
I was in the demo and I saw that concrete pipe to knock through a wall like from the trailer that says "dynamic levels!". It opened up a dark parking lot kind of area, like pitch black, and the music changed and I felt really bad, but there was nothing down there. Same feeling of dread finding my way into the sewer system under the city, but again, nothing. Is there like stuff that could happen in this parts, in the full game?
it could mean several things
you killed your mentor but he made you do it as he himself planned the whole thing to happen
you killed your dream mentor - he wasn't murdered by you, he died a lot before that, but you saw yourself killing him
the mentor never existed outside your dreams as an idea, concept, means of motivation, or perhaps explaining to yourself some of the actions that you did in the attempt to break out of the cycle - a paternal figure of authority or some shit
It's kinda hard to explain
The campaign's short but there are 3/4endings
The game progresses in a kind of loop where you'll have some information after your first playthrough then it sends your character to the start. Each ending gives you different pieces of the puzzle. It's not an NG+ thing because getting 1 ending is 1/3rd of the linear narrative
I've had it since it's launch pretty much. I've had a long time to develop my body and mind into a Xeno slaying Hand of I. Thousands fall before me at the wave of my hand. My gun is an extension of my arm, thus I am the weapon. Only with a clear mind can I awake from this dream and all metal shall halt before me.
The divine is I.
I miss my wife.
>equip heavy armor
>get that minigun
>kill metasreumon with Dutch
>apply medikit to Dutch if his health is too low
You're supposed to survive two waves of enemies I think. Dutch doesn't need to survive for you to continue the story.
Does anyone have that large help image that tells you pretty much everything you need to know to get started with EYE?
While I know that it isn't very entertaining, nothing stops you from revisiting old maps with random objectives to farm xp/brouzouf to, for example, get the bear killer that makes killing a Deus Ex and dropship much easier.
It could be as simple as that he attacked you first, or was fatally wounded and needed putting down, or it was an accident (thats manslaughter not murder) or some situation like that where you kill him, but it's not cold-blooded murder.
>tfw you realise that there are almost no corrupts in the Federal Police
The Federation did nothing wrong.
>kill a random federal agent shooting at me
>"You just killed a loving father"
I'm too bad at this. I keep dying, I just just found out alchemy converts things to health and wanted to kill myself for it. I actually read the description but thought maintance gave health and alchemy did something else. lol
Meh bought this for .99 cents the other day. Still have buyers remorse. I gave it a fair shake at 4 hours or so. But the game just didn't interest me and the guns felt like they had very little impact, probably because the sound was so muffled.
Think about the hundreds of federals you see marching to kill you in any and every level
Now think about that single corrupt federal you killed
Now combine him with the 4-5 corrupt federals you meet in the game
The corruption is very minimal
The Secreta on the other hand, Rimanah is trying to destroy 1/2, they're in a constant secret state of civil war and none of their soldiers are even slightly sane
I was interested in this game and then I saw the picture of the assault rifle
This is like seeing a menu for an expensive restaurant and then right at the top is a big picture of a McBurger
>scared as fuck because dark place and creepy
>almost have a heart attack with the bursting monster on the cave
>have to read a guide on the internet to know how to cyberjump
>die on the first enemies, use a ressurector
Sorry, I don't know how it feels to
be a pussy.
What are those numbers in the brackets?
Also, how come you can't put any more points into skills even though you have 1 point available?
That happened to me and I don't know why.
>Crawl out of the very first tunnel
>Drop down, break my legs and bleed to death
>lore only barely makes sense
The lore makes perfect sense once you work out whats going on.
>remote control hacking controls like shit
>in-mission story feels all over the place
Thats because its supposed to be.
>being scared of a lone genestealer
>you can enhance your body
>cyber brain, hacking, legs
>GOTTA GO FAST
>ALL POINTS INTO CYBER LEGS
I really hope I wasn't the only one with this reaction upon seeing that menu.
Does anyone else have issues trying to host a game, even after following the guides around with forwarding ports and doing the whole sv_lan/heartbeat stuff?
A friend and I tired for about an hour last night and neither of us could connect to each other. Just constant timeouts.
>you will never play the game as a Jian
Maybe I'm just a retard, but hacking is still confusing the fuck out of me. Every time I hack a door I have to hack it twice to get the fucking thing to open.
The second time I hack the name of the door is in green, but until I hack again, it won't open.
read the virus descriptions, and use the shield-shield-overflow-attack sequence until you understand why it works, then you should have a basic understanding of hacking. also don't spam click because it will keep interrupting your virus so you aren't taking any actions.
Safest way to hack is to spam Mask to get their attack down to zero, then Overflow for a bit before Masking their attack back to zero and finally attacking through their lowered defences.
I find it easier to conserve my ammo. A single headshot with a KA93 or a Rotten Mound is going to kill most enemies. For things that don't die like that, which are cyberdemons, Deus Exes and fuckin' anything else that you shouldn't be using an assault rifle on, I've got my bear killer.
Is there any way to get resurrectors back? Is it game over if i use them all?
sorry for a newbie question i can experiment with myself, but game is downloading and here we are - if you warp to temple instead of using a rez, can you go rejoin the map and continue at the mission state you were on?
>objective: locate the disturbance in the maintenance tunnel
>spooky steam-filled dimly lit corridor ahead
>radio guy tells me that "it's coming"
>hear loud noises ahead
>something knocks a can over at the end of the corridor
>oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck
>get to the end of the corridor
>door doesn't open
>nothing else there
>it's behind me isn't it
>fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck
>this fucking thing comes running towards me
>shoot it once
>get an achievement for killing a "supreme beast"
Alot of you seem to be confused with
Dutch's death. Have you learned nothing from Ghost in the Shell? He didn't actually die. Like all things in the new cyber world order, he was either found and repaired or his conscienceness was transfered to a new vessel. If I was a dude in charge of a few "elite" cyber assassins and saw that one got killed, I too would say "Fuck your mission, blow up PS4 HAS NO GAMES
At high level, you can summon a six strong gang with miniguns , insta-kill or paralyze everything from any distance and heal yourself from enemies taking damages or converting loot to HP. PSY is abusable as fuck at the endgame, but it's pretty meh at the beginning, except if you combine insanity with stealth.
Figured this was the case. Most of the way through, you'll need to be supplementing it with a decent loadout, correct? Or at least exhibit a lot of patience and planning.
>Only have one friend
>He didnt buy it
>Dont want to play it by myself because it seems like coop is a major part
Guess Ill keep playing State of Decay even though it sets my CPU on fire because its so badly optimized
I only don't want him to die because I'm too much of a pussy to go on alone and thought he'd accompany me
Fucking hell now I saved him and did the stuff he asked and he wants me to go down THAT fucking elevator alone anyway
Fuck why am I such a pussy with this game
If you buy the flying drone, does it follow you around and help you shoot stuff?
Coop is not a major part.
The game's better solo for a first run or two. Especially since you use the same character in both singleplayer and multiplayer, so if you haven't acquired shit in singleplayer you won't have it in multi.
Its just that, when you've got 32 player coop with everyone bringing in their pimped out characters? That shit's -fun-.
So I just finished the first mission in New Eden and it teleported me back to the Temple.
Do I need to back to New Eden because i've noticed that some of the objectives are the same as the last mission.
Just go find Ramanah. Make sure to talk to people, too - there's a guy who'll tell you an interesting story about a guy who killed his wife in the temple at some point, you really should listen to it.
The drones are pretty fucking good too if you have researched the shield and the laser for them.
You take two drones with you (1 on each leg) A damocles and a BK444 + PSY.
You can even ask the drones to hunt for you and get your brouzoufs.
Even better, you can hack your own drone to go scouting without taking damages yourself.
Yes, you spawn them and their AI is set to "protect" (you), you can use the order option to send them "hunt".
The drones are great in pitch black area because they draw the attention and they can spot ennemies you can barely see.
You can also hack your own drone and go scouting so you know what kind of ennemies are lurking ahead.
Grenades are meh, use drones.
The rest is good.
>mfw started playing again and my shitty laptop crashed before even getting to new eden
You can do everything the drones can do with clones, and they don't take up equipment slots. The single clone is also stupidly tough and deals a lot more damage than a drone once you have decent PSI.
>own 109 games
>been a member of steam for 5 years
>still can't view shit because I'm only level 7
I fucking hate this trading card bullshit
Alright, time to make some drones.
I was planning to focus on accuracy, endurance and agility, but now all of them cost 2 points to level. Should I keep dumping points in them?
A drone can fly over pit, is harder to shoot due to its size, also if you play a hacker you barely spend skill points.
Clones don't have the laser too (the one the fed snipers use in new eden).
With all the drones research they are tougher than clones too.
Pretty sure you can't hack your clones too.
>Making fun of EYE
What soulless monster would do this
Aside from filthy casuals and game journalists of course
>Having fun, no clue what's going on
>Archives are fucking crazy
>Feels like I'm reading a WH40K fanfic combined with "something" else
>Wander around the temple
>Spot a lone Jian in a massive empty area
>Backstab him because why not
>Kill about 50 people because I've now aggro'd the entire of E.Y.E
>Run out of res
You better learn from your mistakes son.
>getting a refund for a one dollar game
Clones are disposable and you can just spawn them without thinking any time you need any kind of assistance or get rid of them when you don't need them. That's a massive advantage, because you can't repair a drone and once it goes down you can't just make another one without backtracking to an armory.
And drones aren't tougher than clones, the single clone HP is absolutely massive at high PSI.
Then you have both out at once.
>The whole game is edgy
>You are told that the Jian are an enemy for effectively no good reason
>Thought if I killed one of them out of sight nothing would happen
Not really that edgy.
Jian and Culter Dei are two factions working for the same organization called Secreta Scrotum. They don't have the best relationship with each other, but they're not enemies. You belong to Culter Dei and your leader is the one sharing his feelings with you about Jians, because he trusts you.
>mfw i was playing this great game yesterday with my friend
>got to this level
fucking lost my shit because of how much the level looked like Blade runner, then on top of that they have the BK444 and the BK222 which look almost like the pistol from blade runner as well
>Get to this mission.
>Play through it.
>Take a break.
>It hits me:
I have literally just bombed an entire future city block, who knows how many people lived in the buildings that have collapsed because of this bombing? I am not a good person, this is not a good universe, I'm just following orders.
Damn, game, damn.
Find the 3 artefacts.
>Start shit with them
>Still can't shoot
>Room still drains power
Why isn't there a fanmade patch yet like there is with pretty much all 'rough gem' games?
I'd sure love EYE more if it had the following:
>proper fucking weapon selection
>XP gained during hacking and slave kills
>multiplier on XP and Brouzouf everytime you finish the game (like Challenge Mode in Ratchet & Clank)
>retranslation that just fixes grammatical errors, and doesn't change the meaning like the Text Revamp mod
>upgradeable PSI powers and Cybertech
>screen tells you how much Brouzouf and XP you get
>using some unused tracks in the OST
>not having the game host a server in singleplayer mode since it's kind of taxing on old GPUs
>not having enemies spawn when you take your eyes off their spawn point, but instead having human reinforcements come in through dropships or some other kind of transportation
>reduce streum footstep noise
>Action Wheel saves your configuration if you alt+tab
>hacking someone with Possess will let you control the slave like you control yourself (including Interceptors)
>Cloak doesn't consume energy if you stand still
>seperate energy pools for PSI and Cybertech powers
>character creation screen lets you just pick your own stats instead of randomly selecting genes
>getting hit shouldn't make your screen go completely white
>3d yellow wireframe minimap of the level
>headbob when landing should only occur with heavy armors
>better fucking AI
>health syringe will recharge at a 50% rate when not held
>remove fisheye on scopes
>let me zoom in the scope with mwheel
>triangle crosshair like in the beta
>lock minigun, damocles, dual BK, BOSCO, KA93 from the armory when starting, you shouldn't start with a minigun immediately
>buff Rotten Mound (has higher ROF than KA93, but worse accuracy)
>assign PSI blast to something else and fix the mechanic where you hold up your gun if the barrel is about to hit the wall, that shit doesn't work without 3D
>allow leaning while moving
>resurrection temporarily stuns everyone nearby
No civies where harmed, atleast not now, the looters are there so that means that they killed almost all the civies and took the area for them selves, you wouldn't be attacking civies if they were there because the looters would not be there
>>multiplier on XP and Brouzouf everytime you finish the game (like Challenge Mode in Ratchet & Clank)
Man more games need this. It speeds things up and adds another element to the gameplay.
>be in New Eden
>Looters, Federal Agents, and Monsters are all battling it out
>I have no idea what is going on
What the fuck are they all there for? Is there a backstory for all the monsters, are they from Mars?
Find the Christmas Packet
They did the event years ago, they never did it again
>place on agility
>He wont need too, place all on agility
The quote comes from Lovecraft's "The Thing at the Doorstep." In the context of that story, the murdered was possessed by an Eldritch entity.
Been a while since I played E.Y.E., but it may be worth considering the above for it.
Typo, I meant, don't reroll, he will be able to spend point later while leveling up.
Also endurance is more important than agility.
I always thought that you WERE mentor.
The three endings take place in different parts of your coninuum: your past, your future, and your present.
If you uncover the true game's ending, you learn that it is about coping with your wife's death, and the hatred you feel for the way she was murdered was the motive behind your (mentor's) decisions.
No game's gonna stop my achievement display case from showing 100% completion rate with a bullshit move like this. I guess I'll have to check that program out after I earn all implemented achievements
trust me, that shit might not even be remotely true.
It's hard as fuck to tell since the translation makes everything so fucking sketchy. Even if you play the original French version, it still makes very little sense.
It's like im playing a Terrance Malik video game.
how much endurance do I need to stroll constantly and regain and what do I need to research and shit to get that energy flowing? my level 41 is so fucking retarded I crouch and fucken sit around all the time and on the hardest difficulty on 2cnd playthru everything just one shots you regardless of armor its ridiculous how do I make this new character
Buy the adrenaline pump and take it to level max.
Don't need to research much for endurance.
open your Action Wheel with C, then select the gear at the bottom
A menu will pop up, one of the tabs will be Research
Open that tab and select Medkit, make sure you have enough brouzoufs, if you have more you can make the research go faster by increasing the number of researchers (the slider)
If you don't have enough brouzoufs, turn down the researchers slider or kill dudes
>Feels like I'm reading a WH40K fanfic combined with "something" else
Yes, this. I'm pleased they got picked to do the next Warhammer 40k game-they really nailed the gunplay/melee I felt.
>half of my magazine empty after shootan
>he throws away what was left and applies a new magazine
Why won't more games do this?
Do females only exist in this game as sexy bondage statues? I suppose it's a lot of work to add female avatars what with being an indie mod game, since you have to go a recheck all the rigging, models, animations, textures, etc. Or maybe there's a lore reason.
>pause the grinding in EYE so I can catch up with the thread
>put EYE back on
>a ragdoll of myself falls through myself on the floor
>what doth life
To think some frenchies managed to make this (albiet rough) gem that invites so many theories and speculation, and Bioshit with it's AAA funding and crap farts out the turd that is mass effect 3's ending.
No, this is EYE
basically warhammer with funny chinese hats
No, this is EYE
basically warhammer with hot chicks with guns
The only women you see are metastreumonic succubi that happen to look just like those statues of a certain saint.
And yes, there's a lore reason for that. Two even, if you count the layers of the plot.
the ironsights are useless on it
just watch the magic happen and at higher levels no matter where the crosshair widht is or how inaccurate it looks to be the first bullets will hit dead center so no need to even crouch at that point anymore
Hey guys, just reinstalled this thing.
For first time ever, I have noticed that near Dutch was destroyable vent. After ridiculously long straight vent tunnel I got into this place.
And Im not sure if there is anything to do, kinda odd that they would make such long vent to this empty room.
>Cloak doesn't consume energy if you stand still
I don't know if you can make it consume 0 energy, but I've got like lvl 5-6 in all cyber upgrades and if I crouch, I've got a good ~2 minutes of staying still. Wonder if it approaches being able to self sustain but never tips over.
