Whats your favorite Mech /v/?
pic related, 2 heavy gauss rifles, what more could a bear ask for?
Something that an Uziel doesn't fucking run circles around while peppering it with double PPCs.
I love pooting around as this cute little guy.
Can use a gauss, AC or ER PPC, to boot, along with some medium range weaponry.
banshee. bushwacker and panther also good.
those shoulders pop so easily
I would always have an awesome in my lance in mechwarrior 4 mercenaries
All i remember is that i used to love this fucker
>32nd Century AD
I seriously hope you clanners don't do this.
3 x ERLLAS
2 x ERPPC
You have no excuse
>what more could a bear ask for?
A third gauss rifle.
>Is Mechwarrior Online still alive with a healthy community?
There was never a healthy comunity to begin with. MWO is a joke on every fucking level: the game, the developers and the community are a fucking joke.
Wow look at all these walking bricks, I could boost circles around them and i wouldn't even blow a gasket.
I don't know what it is about this mech, but god damn it makes my dick hard.
Some of us like walking bricks.
implying it could take duel ppcs without blowing up, just look how thin that armor is. And those joint placements... yikes... one srm salvo and your entire mech would be out of alignment. and what kind of armament does that shit have? is that one gun? ahahahaha what the fuck is the point of that
Are you suggesting any mech is realistic? Really?
Uugh wanzers are so sexy I really recommend you play the front mission 5 fan translation if you haven't.
AC5 and VD mechs make me hard
Gatling guns are extra sexy.
I should get to that, it's a shame it never got localization
>mfw Front Mission Evolved
my favorite robot is one which blends technology with warrior spirit.
pic related. me and my robot Blackshido.
I think there's a 4x gauss rifle version of this
>If we had the technology i see no problem
Any weaponry you could put on a mech you could put on a tank or wheeled truck for a fraction of the cost of the mech.
>a frame as agile and versatile as a bipedal
Not to mention just as frail. A single RPG hit to the knee or ankle joint of a mech and it's done. And no you can't just put more armor on it, then you'd lose your one advantage of agility. Same thing goes for finding some sort of "super" armor material, just like today with tank armor, every advance in armor is met with an advance in anti-armor weapons.
Mechs are cool as shit in theory, and I am a mech fan myself, but they just are not practical as warfighting machines and sadly they never will be. They are fantasy machines are that is where they will stay.
OP that's the best one and the best mech!
>>the firepower of a tank or far greater on a frame as agile and versatile as a bipedal such as a human
Now think about, use the same superthech to make a even better tank
>mechs HOLDING their guns with their humanoid hands
Fucking disgusting. Anyway, Metal Gear Rex > all of your shitty AC and FM cardboard box deathtraps. One shot from that railgun and it's all over. The only thing that could probably battle Rex in 1v1 fight is a Clan Behemoth II with naval grade railgun on its back.
You would need to make the fucking mech out of air to prevent the heavy as shit thing from sinking in to the earth.
Unless you wanted big honking clown shoes on the thing to distribute weight evenly. Which means you would have a slow, clumsy, stupid looking clown robot standing 20+ meters tall and being exposed to all the fire in the world since everybody fucking sees the thing.
Will there be another series like Front Mission?
I've played all of 'em and I want more but...
there won't be anything quite like it, huh?
So, Metal Gear REX piloted by Fox/Liquid goes up against a Clanner veteran in a Behemoth II. Who would win?
>tank is bogged down in mud and turret is slowly turning to face incoming mech
>mech strides through mud with legs and uses super human reflexes due to the artificial muscle myomer to instantly lock onto and destroy tank with 6 ton laser battery
>tank fags are crying when they realize the new face of warfare will be the battle mech
Just you fuckers wait until some nut okays the first military project akin to a mech
>implying it could take duel ppcs without blowing up
Implying you could get in range.
>one srm salvo
hey bub you're gonna need something with more range to keep up
>and what kind of armament does that shit have?
Bigger and badder stuff then you
>Boost circles around my dual katanas mother fucker
I welcome the opportunity to close so i can Assault Armor your ass.
>Is that before or after you fall out of the air due to all of your electronics and flight control getting jammed by ECM?
I've taken down massive battleforts and you think you got more ecm then Answerer? but even then good luck setting all that up before i fly in and find you.
Also what this guy said
I can even rise from the dead.
>Mech steps in mud
>legs instantly sink
>tries to move, breaks legs and trips in to mud
>arms and all of its stupid guns now stuck in mud
>tankfags laugh and drive over it to show it what proper weight distribution is.
>Tank is bogged down in the mud
>Equal mass mech strides through mud
>Mech uses super human reflexes due to the artificial muscle myomer to instantly lock onto tank and shoot it with tiny-ass cannon with noammo that can't penetrate civilian cars.
>Tank uses all its horsepowers to really fucking fast rotate the fuckhuge cannon and locks onto mech one-shotting it.
You niggers think there is any mud deep enough to hinder this nigger?
I've always felt like Grasshopper is a solid and flexible mech for the tabletop.
Hunchback is sweet, Mechcommander taught you how great a single AC20 could be.
Blood Asp from Mechcommander 2 was one of the best "oh my god, I love this power!" mech feelings.
Mechwarrior 3 Avatar and Thor deserve a mention, considering how many hours I put in those cockpits.
Stormcrow came back in one of the Mechwarrior 4 expansions, just as sweet as it was in MW2.
Mad Dog, Timber Wolf, Raven and Catapault have a special place in my heart as well.
Well, yes. It walks by moving it's legs forward. It only needs to be deep enough that trying to step forward would make it stick harder and fall. You know how when you wade through mud, snow or sand, you have to lift your legs totally up and out first, doing a funny looking hopping motion? It can't do that.
But in the 4 setting, those ACs regularly take on things bigger than Battlemechs packing weapons that are also beyond 40K tier.
Honestly, it comes down to whether or not the NEXT can dodge everything. If so, the NEXT has it. Some of the smaller arms fire will chunk a NEXT, but the shielding should help it survive. Missiles might be survivable, but it's going to take a lot out. Anything bigger will likely instagib a NEXT.
For gameplay, probably Shadowcat. Decent speed with jump jets and big enough to carry an LBX20. Sneaking around with low radar signature blasting people in the back and hiding before they know what happened.
/v/ has halo custom edition threads, anyone be interested in a once a week thread to play mechwarrior living legends together?
we need a rock-em sock-em game with loli mechs
>tiny-ass cannon with noammo that can't penetrate civilian cars.
MY LEFT AND RIGHT TORSOS ARE IN ORBIT
For coolness, I'd go for the MadCat MK2 for being an Assault class with jump jets.
Equal fucking proportions.
I can play that game too.
>You niggers think there is any mud deep enough to hinder this nigger?
Yeah, it's called a quad ERPPC Warhawk.
Anyway, a quad ERPPC Warhawk would ruin pretty much anything in this thread.
>ERPPCs can outrange your shitty ballistics
>Warhawk's targeting computer makes it incredibly accurate, allowing it to hit specific bodyparts on a fast moving mech
>all clan mechs can mount ECM pods, that will jam the everliving shit out of anything, forcing you into an oldschool sniper duel and making your lock-on weapons useless
Genetically engineered Clanner with snake-like reactions/dexterity in a Warhawk > shitty scrap heaps in this thread.
Yeah, but fantasy tier technology goes anywhere. I can just as easily twist it into saying all machines are now worthless since the only true military strength is now judged by childrens card games.
America is rapidly overrun by autistic japanese children shouting about friendship.
Now apply that fantasy tier technology to huge flat threads instead of tiny pointy legs...
Tabletop AC20s are actually even worse, they only get 5 shots per ton. Though that does include storage and feed systems, and at least some of them are fluffed as firing bursts of shots instead of one giant one.
Gauss rifles are pretty ridiculous though. They explicitly fire a single shot, and they're coilguns so the ammo is caseless and doesn't need propellant or anything. They're just 125 KG balls of solid metal. Like, fuck.
Just wait until these godlike legs step on your fucking house
What do you think is going to put a stop to the ork degeneracy in that pic?
>There will never be another mechwarrior game as good as mercenaries.
At least it's a free download.
>not having a lance of all Catapults
plebs, all of you
Disregarding orkish skills and putting two machines under equal conditions, certainly not a Titan.
>Protected by Void Shield
>Armed with Sonic Disruptor
Zone of the enders has the best mechs after Evangelion for sure
Honestly? Probably either a Mad Dog or a Zaku. Mad Dog's super practical and pretty stylish and the Zaku's pretty practical and mad stylish.
yes they forced them to stop development
the game still has a niche community of players, probably because its still the best mechwarrior experience ever made
Well, forced them to stop development, delete every instance of the source code, and ensure there could never be a fan patch made period.
And they also took off the MW4 free release from the face of the earth, so I ain't happy.
>Well, forced them to stop development, delete every instance of the source code, and ensure there could never be a fan patch made period.
MWLL is based on the crysis engine which does not have "true" multi monitor support (ie different stuff shown on different screens). You can extend your image across multiple monitors as with most games though.
That was a great Battletech book,
black samurai was a great character, shame about the ending.
In the Battletech/Mechwarrior series my favorite mech was always the Uller/Kitfox. Its speedy nature and heavy punching loadout makes it my GOAT. Sucks MW4:Mercs left out the auto cannon it is usually armed with.
Here's to the best mech that'll never be in a Mechwarrior game.
Yes, a indie developer that released a bunch of mods (like 100+ new mechs) got the rights from Microsoft to distribute it officially for free, and it came bundled with all of the mods and fixes.
After MWO took down MWLL, they took it down immediately afterwards. You can still get it, but it's a bit more roundabout.
I haven't tried this link out yet, but the website itself is legit.
I always liked this one. Usually replaced the gauss with an autocannon or a couple ppcs.
Old Atlases are junk, it's all about Atlas IIIs
Eat microwave laser, Oppressor.
superior clan ghost bear mech coming through
Can't hate good ol' Thor/Summoner class.
I've also taken a bit of a liking to the good ol' Cougar.
Say, what MW game should I try out? I have 2,3,4 in my backlog and the last I played was 4.
I'll have to suggest you eat my entire ass.
I forgot to also say I played the tits out of the MW2 demo way way back in Windows 95/98 so
yeah, I'm a faggot for not going straight to 3 after already enjoying 2 and playing a bit of the Battletech game in Genesis via emulator and liking that as well
3 it is. Anything important I need to know?
Fuck, I forgot what this Mech was called, but godDAMN does it look fine.
>3 it is. Anything important I need to know?
I hope you're a patient man, getting it to run is a bitch. I never managed to get the expansion running and it's amazing.
And no, I don't remember fuck all about getting it to run, since I did it many years ago.
Let me introduce you to: The Devastator.
This beauty packs 2 Gauss Rifles and 2 PPCs as main armaments and 4 Medium Lasers as backup. One of the medium lasers is placed on the back to protect from infantry and lesser threats.
I just hope that atleat one of the upcoming mech games will be good.
>You will never pilot a mech and die a glorious death on the battlefield.
Mechwarrior Online has proven that in a simulated combat situation the shape of the mech as well as the hardpoint locations are the most important thing when it comes to long range combat.
Knuckle-dragger mechs with low mounted hardpoints like the Atlas and Devastator are absolute garbage when it comes to long range combat, since they must expose themselves a lot when firing from behind a ridge. A lone PPC loaded Stalker would be eating those Devastators in droves at long range.
1. Fill it with nothing but medium beam lasers
2. Fire all weapons once (preferably to the knee)
3. Overheat like a mofo
4. Flush coolant
5. Fire all weapons again
6. Target is ded
It's a tie between a Kodiak and a Stone Rhino for me.
The Kodiak will always be special to me, though. The opening cinematic for the GBL expansion pack was just so goddamned good.
The Light ray. It's quick, it's well armored, it carries a targeting computer and it either has a main armament of a Large Pulse Laser or an ER PPC.
It only lacks jump jets, but with its high mobility and good armor, it can lay down some terribly accurate devastation while being nearly impossible to hit.
The game is shit, but it showed just how crucial proper hardpoint placement is in a mech, when we're talking about a real time game with proper projectile origins (as in, the projectiles start their flightpath from the hardpoint location). MWO has shown that half the mech designs are fucking retarded, especially the majority of humanoid mechs with arms.
Only in MWO a Jagermech or even a fucking Blackjack could outshoot an Atlas or a Victor at long range with impunity.
I found these two links, not sure if this is it though.
Anime-tier: Either Tallgeese or Z'gok. There's just something in Z'gok that I really like, I'll propably get a gunpla of it some day.
I never liked the atlas but this fanart is pretty rad
also starsiege > mechwarrior
I'm that way too, but with Tierens. I own the space and the ground types (1/144 HG). I'm thinking about buying the commander version of space type, both the HCMpro and MG version. And maybe get the two customs too. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=TOY-GDM-0040&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dtieren%24pagemax%3D20%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1
I'll probably repaint this.
