How come game developers have to trick players into playing dumbed down fighting games? How come they can't just sit down and learn how to play a real fighting game? They're not that hard to pick up and are very rewarding once you learn them.

all of the classic fps games that had level editors, total conversions would completely transform a game into something else. beth games, sims, world of warcraft (ui mods), diablo 2, titan quest/grim dawn, half life series, starcraft.

Who cares, retro has been a shell of its former self since prime 1 was completed. Why the fuck do you think they have them making platformers? That's fucking B-team-tier projects.
So I'm officially done with with the console base. It took me awhile to come around to PC, but I travel too much for me to want to take a console with me so I said screw it. PC is already the all-in-one platform for work/tv/play. Do you think there will come a time where console base realizes this and abandons the hardware?
Of course I don't mean it would die immediately, I still have my Xone to play some occasionally Call of Duty Zombies, but nothing more really.

He's really not. He gets better results these days than any of the season 1 OP characters who got their asses reamed by the nerf bat.
He's just weird to play because virtually everything he has is wildly unsafe, but at the very least he's rewarded for how shitty his kit can be with good damage potential.

Let's talk about Paper Mario /v/.
Color Splash was decent. I'd give it a 6/10. It brought back some of the charm and clever writing the older entries had, but still had the retarded ass combat mechanics. I enjoyed the paint mechanics, and some of the banter between the Toads. But that brings up my biggest problem about the game, the complete lack of diversity within the characters. The game is like 95% Toads, which sucks. The first 3 games came the closest to giving Mario any sort of "Lore," and had all kinds of neat characters and races. Just look at the companions for the first two games for proof of that. All in all, I don't really like where the Paper Mario series is going, and I really hope that it either turns around creatively or that Mario and Luigi can step up and become a more enjoyable series.
