Looks like there was a way for the mastersword to return to the forest when dropped, or amaged or some other reason. It's definitely an intentional feature, however, in its current state it can't actually be retrieved from the forest afterwards

Depends on your playstyle.

I personally have a MCH, it requires you to handle cooldowns correctly for Wildfire and a lot of praying to God about proccs when you're out of ammo and are fishing for slug and cleaner shot. I find it fun as hell, though your mileage may vary.

Just remember to get all the cross-class skills. Blood for Blood is a fucking requirement on MCH, just like most other classes. Same goes for Hawk Eye. They are extremely important for your Wildfire DPS.

No western game has ever been looked at for its mechanics. Meanwhile whole genres(DmC,Bayo style fighters, srpgs like Disgaea, TO) are played for their mechanics alone.
There's a reason why the only games remarkable in the west, are either cinematic experiences or "immersive" games with empty copy pasted tasks plastered all over them.

I think it's pretty normal to be shit at video games when you don't play video games.
