I hate this game. It's not Zelda. How many fucking monsters in Zelda do 6 hearts worth of damage in a single fucking hit? Why are there le epic raid bosses scattered all throughout the world? I'm fucking sick of dying that lays as much as a finger on me. I'm fucking sick of hunting down Koroks. I'm fucking tired of doing shrines.
Face facts, /v/. This is not a very good game.
But it is a great game and you're just shitposting.
Guess what fucko, no amount of shitposting will turn the game bad for anyone else except for you.
Enjoy :)
Let's get this out of the way, Breath of the Wild is not a very good game.
Tons of filler content
>5 dungeons, 4 copy pasted
>120 shrines, all copy pasted assets
>900 Korok seeds
Lack of enemy variety
>15 types of enemy
>4 levels each for 11 of those
>4 variants, 3 elemental, of those 4 levels
Unbalanced combat
>Combat becomes a constant numbers game
>Lack of enemy variety leads to repetitive combat
>Damage dealt is the sole difficulty factor
>Flurry rush is cheap reward that rewards quick timing, not skill
>Weapons are still too brittle at the endgame, due to the numbers game
>No sense of progression due to above factors
>Copy pasted bosses, overworld and in the dungeons
>Blood Moon happening every few minutes means combat is meaningless
No story
>17, 2 minute memories scattered around the world to increase playtime
>Zelda and Link the only characters with development
>No attachment to other characters because they have very little screen time
>Side characters are one-dimensional
>No building tension after the Great Plateau
>Significant ruins are left with no explanation
>Inconstant lore in the names of the areas
>Setting is 10,000+ years after the last NES game, which had little to no story, to distance itself from a fleshed out timeline
>Doesn't explore that period of 10,000+ years in any fashion
>Plot holes - e.g. why is Zelda still young, why did Calamity Ganon only start rebuilding himself once Link awoke, why didn't the Divine Beasts stir up any trouble before Link awoke, who the sorcerer was, etc.
>Amateur voice acting, and bad amateur voice acting
No reward for exploring due to all of the above

>great game

Give me your honest opinion of this game
Posted it in another thread but here we go:
It is quite gud and easily the best Looking Glass style game out of the post 2005 crop. Compared to SS2, it's less survival horror focused on resource management, and more about open-ended exploration of an interconnected world. RPG elements and atmosphere are weaker than SS2, but level-design is as good or better, and the space station in Prey is a much better realized and believable setting overall. Combat and enemy design is better in Prey as well, though that's a necessity given that it abandons the survival horror elements and has no excuse left to be a clunky wrench-melee game. Both games are well-written and make excellent use of audiologs, and while Prey lacks the memorable antagonists of SS2, it does a better job of fleshing out its side characters. There's no Shodan-reveal twist in Prey surprisingly - there's one after the credits, but it's more like a bit of cute meta-commentary rather than anything substantial.
Where Prey definitely drops the ball is the audio - music is often ill-fitting, scary sounds play for no apparent reason, and the mixing is incredibly bad for such a high-budget game. Volume levels of dialogue and sound effects don't reflect the source's distance from the player at all, and it's impossible to track enemies based on sound alone.
Overall though, I'd say it's worth playing, has some annoying signs of consolization, but also a lot of nice attention to detail and it actually improves upon SS2 in various ways, much unlike Bioshock which was straight up dumbing down with a nice coat of paint on top.

Exploration is good. Combat sucks (often it's a rock paper scissor type deal). Enemy design is garbo. Level design is a lot like Dishonored. Story is pretty whatever and the last act is dogshit (so much fucking backtracking). The only part of the station I felt was cool/unique was the arboreum. The rest felt like a shitty airport terminal / office park in space.

It's good. Patch fixed up all the bugs and niggles. It's very much one of 'those' games and I like them.
If you don't I could see how you would consider it boring and I would say 'well that's fair enough, some things aren't for everyone' but secretly I would be thinking you were stupid and had no patience.
This is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Say something nice about it.
>>377142806
It's one of the best games of the past 20 years.

/v/ eternally BTFO
>>377142806
It's the best game in 6,000,000 years, goy!
The soundtrack sucks
>no one cares, it's not about that and it was never good in zelda anyway
The combat sucks
>no one cares, it's not about that and it was never good in zelda anyway
The framerate sucks
>no one cares, it's not about that and it was never good in zelda anyway
The puzzles suck
>no one cares, it's not about that and it was never good in zelda anyway
No dungeons
>no one cares, it's not about that and it was never good in zelda anyway
The story sucks
>no one cares, it's not about that and it was never good in zelda anyway
No special ability items
>no one cares, it's not about that and it was never good in zelda anyway
No memorable characters
>no one cares, it's not about that and it was never good in zelda anyway
Totally lacks the gameplay characteristics of a zelda game in general
>no one cares, it's not about that and it was never good in zelda anyway
Starting to see a pattern here, boys?

>Valve: We won't hire real people to sift through to detect non-games
>Valve: We won't disable cards for non-games
>Valve: Let's develop an algo that will be gamed by non-game devs.
Get real
>These fake developers take advantage of a feature we provide to all developers on Steam, which is the ability to generate Steam keys for their games. They generate many thousands of these keys and hand them out to bots running Steam accounts, which then idle away in their games to collect Trading Cards. Even if no real players ever see or buy one of these fake games, their developers make money by farming cards.
but that's wrong, just having cards drop doesn't give the dev any money, only when someone buy those cards, which by itself isn't "cheating the system" since the person who buys them isn't tricked into it or anything.
mark my words, in a few month, a year tops, they'll make it so the only way to get cards is if you bought the game through steam, and not through a key.
How do we make it go competitive?
Haven't you heard of professional gambling on Mario Retardy?
>>377142384
100 turns
add wave dashing
make only half the characters viable
What are some good mech games?
>>377142282
that one
Brigador is a good mech game.
ZOE1+2
Lets talk about the worst game ever. Its just so bad and I hate it. The UI is shit, there's no graphics, and there is a bunch of pointless shit like randomly generated personalities and a random chance of homosexuality. Its bad.Dwarf Fortress thread
>>377482886
Wait, there are homos now?
you're a random chance of homosexuality
I never could get too much into it, I got the designation system and familiarized myself with the hotkeys but it was always overwhelming at some point.
What happened to the brown and bloom fad that was so popular mid to late 2000s?
You answered your own question, it was just a fad.

This
Can we have a thread for vintage Tom Clancy games?
I consider anything pre-2008 a vintage Clancy game (but you can argue anything up to his death)
The original Ghost Recon to this day is still one of my favourite games, same goes with the first 3 Rainbow Six games.
Really hoping that small studios start making more tactical shooters like the ones I grew up with.
'Ready or not' looks neat, but i need to see some gameplay first.
>>377142036
I downloaded the Heroes Unleashed expansion mod for ghost recon and its massive.
Each class gets 200 loadouts, tons more unit backgrounds (rangers, delta, GROM, GIGN, KSK, even Spetznas)
Adds like 200 more missions to the game, as well as better textures for everything. Loved sneaking through Baltic swamps at night during a rainstorm.
>>377142036
I've yet to download any significant mods for Rainbow Six games though.
Hear there are some good ones for Rainbow Six 3, gotta look into it.
Really want PC release of original SOCOM games, was dissapointed they are not getting released on that Playstaion streming service (or that there has never been an HD remaster of the first 4 games; 4 being combined assault of course)
The planning phase is the coolest fucking thing about OG Rainbow 6 so of course that's the one part that nobody copies ever.
Any of you guys ever played Feudalism 1/2/3? They're pretty fun little games
also general flash games thread i guess
Remember Raze?
Why on earth does /v/ hate this game?
