Death system which has player drop a game currency that can be retrieved if same area is reached without a death. Enemy placement of enemy attacks which seem intimidating until at first but have easy patterns when observed. Dodge or block system that uses a stamina meter. Attacks have long animations when starting or ending. Those are the usual suspects when somebody says it's the dark soul of whatever game.

MGS2 is the smartest and most artful MGS game.

It's arguably the least fun because of it.
There are specific areas of the game designed to not be fun and make you question why you're playing.

MGS3 is generally considered by most people to be the best, and doesn't carry a lot of the gravitas that 2 did but still has serious drama.

Neither are really overrated in my opinion.
They're both landmark video games and masterpieces in their own right.

MGS 4 is the most overrated because there are people that think it's actually good and not the piece of shit it actually is. Fuck, there are people that have it as their favorite. That's fucking insane.

Daily reminder that the Red-9 is the best pistol by far thanks to extremely high damage, consistent damage, and good ammo conservation making it fantastic for headshots, regular enemies, and bosses alike. Plus good accuracy with the stock.
