The original is fantastic, and serves as a well crafted low level AD&D experience. It eases you in, but its solid. 2 is more intricate, with a deeper plot and characters, and a more tactical experience. Import for best results.

I highly recommend the original, not the EE, for your first time through. The mechanics change a good bit, and it loses some charm.

toss all of those glass bottles all over the floor. enemies will die before they can even reach you.
you can sell the tape, round pills, pipe. eggs and weapon parts.
and i don't think that the chain has a use other than to fix the village well. if you've already done that then you can throw that away (you cant sell it)
If you haven't already you should make a single-shot shotgun with that long barrel. it doesn't break after shooting like the single pistol. It just has to be reloaded after each shot.

If I'm not having fun I stop playing, but a game being repetitive is hardly ever the cause of that. I wouldn't be playing a game if it wasn't fun, so for me to notice a game being repetitive means it has to be fun for a long enough period of time for me to notice that it is repetitive.

Often times I drop games because of some bullshit mechanic that gets introduced or something of the sort.

There are games that do just that, and games that SEEM like they'd be just that - but do not ever get tiresome and feel engaging throughout the end.

Examples of the former: nuDOOM, nuSW.

DaS > BB > DeS > DaS3 >>> DaS2
Dark Souls 3 was only fun for the first playthrough.

BB and DaS3 are the most combat focused so I'd say BB because it had great weapon movesets.
