Is there really a problem with casual games or games designed to be easy to pick up?
At the moment, I think casual games have a place in gaming as an entry point for new gamers and a point of comparison for difficulty of games. While not every game should be casual and many games are better due to their more complex systems and/or difficulty, casual games should be welcome as long as they're good.
A common complaint I see on this board is "it's for casuals, therefor it sucks." So, please, help me understand this mentality.

Most of the H-scenes, castle dialogue (when a monster in your party talks to one you've recruited who's just hanging around), and unique attack calls remain untranslated.

Seems like Bethesda games are universally more well-received when they're not pretending to be RPG's. Are they just better at it? Then why keep making the faux RPG's with the growing negative reputation? Is it a "we know people will basically everyone will buy this no matter what" kind of thing in regards to quality? If so do they use the Fallout/Elder Scrolls games as a sort of fund-raising project for slightly more ambitious games with more quality control?
