i still think the original playstation would still be successful because sony was willing to bend over backwards for third party companies when it was the exact opposite for nintendo. also sony was one of the biggest companies of the 90s so they can still plunge a shit ton of money into the playstation if it was failing. i dont think the playstation would have sold as much and wouldnt have gotten as much as a big library it had gotten tho. as for sega the saturn is still fucked, their biggest problem was soa and soj couldnt get along. they still would have pulled out and release the dreamcast early so nothing changes there.

I figured out a way to be able to play the practice/warm-up mode even when the testpunch is down, or it ends.
You need to set up a proxy to make your Switch's connection really slow, so that when the testpunch tries to connect to the server, it never gets a response back. While it's connecting, you have full access to the multiplayer lobby, and can freely change characters and use the warm-up option.
You can use any proxy software that has the ability to throttle connections, but because the server response is only a few hundred bytes, it's best if you use one that you can limit to as low as 1 byte per second. Fiddler can't do this. I used a program called crapify which does a pretty good job at throttling the connection.
The setup might look a bit complex, but follow along:
- Install node.js: https://nodejs.org/en/
- Install crapify: open command prompt and run: npm install crapify -g
- Run the proxy server, with a 1B/s limit: crapify start --port=8888 --speed=1--concurrency=999999
- Find out your local IP address using ipconfig/ifconfig
- Configure your Switch to use the proxy (don't do a connection test)
And there you have it, you should be able to access the lobby in the testpunch. The only problem is that you will get kicked out every 2-3 minutes, because the Switch connection test times out. I haven't found any other proxy servers that let you limit speed by hostname, so if anyone knows any, your sessions would probably last a bit longer if you only limited the ARMS game server.

The open world design is literally ubisoft-tier in its filler and POI spam, and is further destroyed by...
...the loot system, which destroys any incentive for exploration. The weapons you find are worse than witcher gear you obtained 10 levels ago, and you get witcher gear from quests anyway so its not like you have to go hunting for them.
Money holds practically no value whatsoever, and the only loot you find thats useful is alchemy ingredients. Which would be fine if...
...the combat system wasn't so barebones and bland. Throughout your 150+ hour adventure, you use one moveset, 5 bland spells, a crossbow, some bombs and optional potions. The enemy and boss design is so generic and boring though, that using all that hify shit like potions and decoction is pretty much pointless. The biggest strategy is just to mash light attack twice, backhop, and repeat. A large majority of the enemies follow this mentality, and it never truly evolves into anything more meaningful. Why does Djikstra have the same moveset as a wild hunt warrior you fight with Keira?
The game even reskins and recycles enemies in paid DLC, and then dares to call them new ones with new beastiry entries.
