This guide is intended to help those that neither have an 8th gen console or a PC rig capable of competing with them make their choice about the best option for them based on their budget they are willing to spend on gaming. Prices do not include tax.
>TRUE IDORT TIER
PC w/ better than X1X specs + PS4 Pro + Switch
If you want absolutely everything and money is not an issue, then this is for you. Xbox becomes almost entirely pointless at this phase.
Price ~ $1,400
>ADVANCED ENTHUSIAST TIER
PC w/ better than X1X specs + PS4 Pro
The only difference here is the Switch gets the boot. It makes things a bit more affordable and you still get most of the games you would in the top tier.
Price ~ $1,100
>ENTHUSIAST TIER
PC w/ better than X1X specs + Switch
Switch out the PS4 Pro for a switch if you want a slightly more Nintendo-oriented library to choose from. It's smaller than the PS4 exclusive lineup, but also a bit cheaper.
Price ~ $1,000
>SUPER-HIGH TIER
Xbox One X + Switch
Unless you're a massive weeb, the X1X beats out the PS4 Pro once the high ens PC is removes from the board. This way you get the best version of all AAA multiplats a console can provide as well as a healthy range of nintendo titles.
Price = $800
>HIGH TIER
PC w/ better than X1X specs
This is the minimum you will need to put down for a rig that can outdo the X1X, won't sound like a jet engine, and will last the length of the generation. If you can only choose one machine but don't mind paying up, choose here.
Price ~ $700
>MEDIUM-HIGH TIER
PS4 Pro + Switch
Similar to the super high tier only slightly cheaper, albeit with inferior multiplat performance and a lack of access to a lot of western big name games. But if mostly an Eastern guy, this isn't a bad choice.

The price tag is actually a pretty good deal given the specs it's packing. You will get access to almost all big name games running smoother and looking better than on any other console, as well as a healthy host of western games exclusive to Microsoft platforms. The controller is the best of gen 8, the online is still leaps ahead of PSN, and the backwards compatibility is also a big advantage against the competition.
Price = $500
>MEDIUM-LOW TIER
PS4 Pro
You'll still be happy here, but you won't be playingbthe definitive version of pretty much anything unless it's exclusive to the console, most of which are heavily-eastern inspired games most westerners won't assimilate to as well. If you're big on Japanese games and only want to pay a few hundred, this will be fine, but otherwise you're better off paying the extra $100 and getting the Xbox.
Price = $400
>LOW TIER
Switch
The library just isn't there right now. I'm not saying you can't have fun with it, but what you have to choose from is sparse, the multiplat games are almost nonexistant or run terribly, and some of the functionality, such as how online chat is handled, is very questionable. Still worth it for the loyalists, but not the average joe.
Price = $300
>NOW YOU'RE IN FREE FALL TIER
PS4 Slim
Don't do this unless you need to save every last cent to your name. The longevity just isn't there. Sony will continue to support the console, but the future versions of the games you get will look and play worse and worse. Strongly reccomend you bite the bullet and spend more.
Price = $250
>ROCK BOTTOM TIER
Xbox One S
I guess if you want a 4K blu ray player that also happens to have games...? Because besides that you have all the same problems as the PS4 Slim option but with even worse game performance. It does have a better online and controller pad, but I don't expext this thing to even be supported by some devs after a year, despite Microsoft's statements to the contrary.

I'm actually pretty excited for The New Colossus.
I loved The New Order, Nazis are kickass enemies, especially when it's Super Science Space Nazis. No other enemy is quite as regal and brutal at the same time.
I hope it's good, if it's at least as good as TNO is then I'm going to enjoy it immensely. I'm already sold on the setting.
I hardly mind the black chick, they're usually pretty fun. But maybe that's just my boner for the setting talking, 60's and 70's America and the loud mouth afro black lady with a gun always entertained me in the past.
The one thing I am annoyed about is the Southern Communist. If BJ doesn't tell him to go to hell then I'm gonna shitpost a lot about Bethesda betraying freedom and Murica and BJ's character.
I don't really care about anything else shown, except maybe XCOM. But XCOM 2 was annoying and left a bad taste in my mouth.
