>he believes that the game could have been announced "too early," causing pressure that turned out to be detrimental to the game's development cycle, and eventually raised fan expectations to the point where it wasn't certain that the studio could actually deliver.
Fair enough? I think it's good to admit "nah actually we can't do this" instead of releasing No Man's Sky/Spore/whatever and get people to pay money for their disappointment.
it looked like mediocre trash anyway.
>>380604821
I think its good to actually release a game and be honest about what it does than cancel it because there was """too much hype"""". Its even funnier when you realise there wasnt any to begin with.
Need me some horror games recommendations, just not mainstream garbage like Dead space or Soma. I mean don't get me wrong, they were good games, but they weren't exactly scary.
God tier - Fatal frame series, I ain't even fucking touching that. Same with Forbidden Siren.
High tier - Silent hill 3, The blair witch project vol1, condemned 2, Penumbra: Black Plague
Resident evil code veronica
Mid tier - Resident evil 7, Silent hill Shattered memories, Obscure, Zombi U
Shit tier - layers of fear, amnesia, Dead space series, Soma
recommend me some spooks.
Resident Evil 5

>High tier - Condemned 2
I guess we could find someone with the same shit taste.

Alright /v/ here's my blog:
First of all let me say this: Super Mario 64 is my favorite game of all time. I still play it at least once every month, and I've gotten pretty good at speedrunning it even. I know the techniques I can do the 70 stars run. There's something amazing about how Mario controls in 64 and Sunshine that will never be surpassed.
So imagine my surprise when I found out about Odyssey. After the new trailer tuesday I've decided to give Sunshine a try, a game I could never enjoy because I have a certain hatred for beach levels and that game only has those. Sad thing, as I thing Mario games are made special by variety.
I start playing and I notice that it controls exactly like SM64, therefore my dives and such still work, and my skills in SM64 translates perfectly into Sunshine. At first I love it.
But then it takes a turn for the worst.
>The Worlds
Bianco Hills, Pinna Park and even Rico Harbor(which I hate because beach and industrial level=worst level) are very well designed and feel like SM64 worlds. Gelato beach is pretty fun as well. My problem is with the other stages, namely Sirena Beach, Noki Bay and Pianta Village, which are so badly design they pale in comparison to even the very worst level of SM64, Wet Dry World. The stars are just not fun to get and mostly you get no indication. The fact that this game was rushed is felt in these levels to a point where it made me mad. These levels are abominations when you’re taking into account that they’re in a Mario game, a series that is recognized for its sheer amount of polish.
git gud
>The Shines
A lot of them are admittedly creative and fun, but that doesn’t take away from the amount of ‘’Awe, fucking bullshit’’ moments I faced in Sunshine. Most of the secret levels you find in Delfino Isle are just bad. They’re hard for the wrong reasons. The one that frustrates me the most isn’t even the Pinball thing everybody talks about, because I got lucky with that one, but the one where you hope on a lillypad that goes down a water stream and the only way to control is F.L.U.D.D. Disgusting. Another good example is the stars where you surf on a squid, and you can’t get off the squid unless you get the shine on the quay, but due to lots of camera glitches and shit controls I needed about 15 tries just to get it.
>The Camera
The camera can actually be awful even compared to 64’s. It has a mind of its own, and it’s kind of funny to see games like Yooka Laylee get destroyed for it while Sunshine still gets called a masterpiece even with a way way worse camera. My favorite example is this awful star in Pinna Park where you have to climb up a waterfall to an electric koopa and the camera keeps going behind the wall for no reason at all. It made me mess up this shine about 10 times.

Wet Dry World is amazing. Fuck outta here.
How do i rekindle my love for video games? They just feel like massive waste of time these days.
Video games are a massive waste of time.
>>380603390
>waste of time
>implying you have anything important to do if you're posting on 4chan
You've just had too much of a good thing. Food analogy: cheesecakes great until you have it for every meal.

Have you ever been attracted to a video game character?
...No? You're weird, anon.
>>380603182
Not really, but you do have great taste.

Not sexually but I want tohave a deeply loving marriage withthis character
Do you see the mountain in the background? This is sense of scale. It feels huge, especially while playing. You can climb it and there is waiting your first Lynel for you.
Are there any games that do sense of scale similarly amazingly?

wow yeah i remember when i felt like that first time i played oblivion back in 2006

My Logitech G400s is starting to fail on the left click. Is this chart still accurate? What would you recommend?
Half the mice in the top tiers aren't even sold anymore. 2/10 low effort. See me after class.
>>379434086
My G500 finally kicked the bucket after 5 years of abuse. Excellent mouse. Just upgraded to the G502, And I gotta say its pretty damn good.
>>379434086
that cyborg mouse, why does it need fucking measurements on it. Just fucking put that thing out of its misery. i would be lying though if i said i wasn't the least bit curious about trying that aborted fetus.
So I heard there's supposed to be a public showcase about this soon. Does anyone know anything about this?
Also general Monster Hunter thread.
Who do you want to see back?
What mechanics do you want to see?
Are you ready to see your favorite armours and weapons in glorious HD?
It's probably going to be like a Monster Hunter game.

I have some great news! Keiji Inafune, the father of Mega Man and Beck, has merged his company Comcept into Level 5, making Level 5-Comcept! What new adventures await Beck and his friends with the characters from Level 5? Might we see a Professor Layton-MN9 crosss over? Only time will tell.
For the more immediate, The 3DS and Vita ports of Mighty Number 9, (Japanese side scrolling action...transformed!) are coming! Despite the baseless rumors that they're cancelled, they'll be coming out this year. On top of that, the rest of the physical rewards are coming as well. Both these had to wait until the restructuring of Comcept and Level 5 was complete.
I can't wait for the adventures us and charismatic game creator Keiji Inafune will get into in the future!
>>380602319
Shill: The thread!
No one cares about Mighty Number 9 for 3DS because Mighty Gunvolt Burst looks like it recreated every stage in that game anyways and does a much better job at it.
>>380602319
>>380602834
Other than that, let's see what he'll come up with, the combo should be great...
>Games that you cherished as a kid and even now
>Games that make you sad for it not being longer
>Games that make you want to restart your save because you can't bring yourself to end the fun
What's her name /v/?

I recently got this on Ps4 since it was at half the price. So many good memories of thia game
>>380603514
Weird that there's some graphical issues like when the speech box pops up, which was never present in the original
Why is this game so damn hard, though? Or did I just play it the wrong way? Barely was able to finish that first dungeon back when I tried playing the game.

>PS4 pro uses checkerboarding

>one year later
>100 bucks more expensive
>Xbone X also uses checkerboarding and still has low-mid settings
>!i-it's fine noone needs true 4k!!
>>380602039
Because PS4 pro is 1800p checkboard while Xbone X is 2160p checkboard(and their 1st party titles are 2160p native anyway).
Because /v/ are counterculture faggots and they will root for the loser, even if it is a pile of shit.
Either way the Xbox is still more powerful. Too bad they don't have any games to use all that power on.
>their 1st party titles are 2160p native anyway
Really? All two of them?
>>380602787
>2160p checkboard
If it was 2160p it wouldn't need checkerboarding. Man did all those dumb MSfags suddenly crawl out of their holes?
I am currently at the point where I can choose a name for my group. Post some suggestions that turn the dialogue into a hilarious shitshow!

Was it good?
Yes, fuck off with Spikat
no, the series is bad.
people only talk about the girl.
>>380601558
Not really. The worst thing about this series is that it's dead average, yet the price never seems to drop.
