Would an RPG fantasy game that's mostly story focused be good and saleable even if it was made in 2D today? I'm talking something like one of the old Final Fantasy games. Or would it be better to try to make it in 3D? Could one person do it?

Yes people would gobble that shit up. Because half the customer base of video games doesn't even want to play a game, they would rather have an interactive movie.
So as long as the story delivers 2D is just fine.
You can do 2D by yourself if you can do the art and programming, but chances are if you invested that much time into getting good enough at those 2 things, you will suck hard in terms of story writing and game design.
Even if you do everything well, it won't have enough content.
So ultimately you better find yourself some partners.

Holla, amigas! Taco burrito loco
I just realized all these Goombas were missing from the demo. How many other things could have been missing?
The game was made easier for the demo because journalists fucking suck at games.

It's been said that the worlds change a bit as you progress, so it might be that.
>>381071847
oh, maybe.
journalists still fucking suck though.
I see you're all talking about the new Atari console, I work at Nvizzio and we've been asked to develop a new Rollercoaster Tycoon for the system.
specs?
>Atari mystery partner is Amazon, and all games will be bought through the Amazon store.
>Don't expect an amazing console. Our current prototype is running a pentium [email protected]
>RX460
>8GB DDR3
>My manager told me it'd have its own ARM CPU for the OS
>have to make sure your guests are all buying Skyrim and Fallout 4 mods
>try to discuss legitimate flaws and criticize a game I enjoyed for the most part

I like Undertale too :)

I'd fuck that Vileplume

You could try balancing out your criticism by stating things you liked about the game first, and then saying "However..." or something similar. It's much like a peer review.
Times a game read you like a book.
Fourth wall breaking or otherwise.
It's out lads.
Thoughts?
Why did you stop playing?
When did you stop playing?
What went wrong?
Was Pokey a tragic villain?
Depends, can he stay happy forever knowing he's safe forever?
Also clarify what happened to him again, just know something about being stuck in something.
>>381071017
No, I would say that his end was pretty well justified. He lived the life of a coward, and will die a long, slow, agonizing and boring death.

Absolutely Safe Capsule.

>pokey
if someone can make or find the mod that supposedly isis made i would be very happy as it would quench my sadistic needs ;)

What? No fucking way what did my Hijab lads come up with.

>heard Spec Ops devs were working on Dead Island 2
>hyped as fuck for quality writing and great environmental design
>"creative differences" between Yager and ((((Deep Silver))))
>Yager dropped from project
This game is a guaranteed failure.
The gameplay Yager showed at Gamescom 2014 FUCKING SUCKED.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DutlVwyEcr8
The story in specops was great but the graphics, gameplay and music were mediocre at best, and for DE2 Yager didn't even seem to actually bother with a story while still making everything else mediocre. If Sumo Digital has what it takes to save this sequel from mediocrity to compete head to head with Dying Light 2, good on them. If not, who cares, right?

>The story in specops was great but the graphics, gameplay and music
>graphics, music
I'll give you the gameplay, but the graphics were good and the music and art direction on SpecOps were pretty fucking amazing. Seriously, the game looked and sounded amazing.
None of this means much for Dead Island 2. I honestly don't know why we even NEED Dead Island 2 since the previous games were awful, and the whole concept was salvaged with Dying Light (which I always viewed as a proper Dead Island sequel), and whatever Yager was doing did not look good anyway.
I just hope that Yager gets another shot at something that actually fits their style. Not a literally brain-dead whacky first person Dead Rising wannabe. Just seemed like such a poor fit for those guys.
Wanted to like dead island 1 but the combat was horrific.
Dying light was awesome, though.
Which character from a Game should get its own spin off game.
Extra points if you mention what kind of game.
>$800 collector's edition

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
I would understand something at 200$, but fucking 800$.. Thats just insanity

Why is ArcSystem so based?
Their engine is godlike, they are making a fighting game Dbz finally deserves, listens to fans, and makes some of the best girls of fighting games?
Wasn't Guilty Gear sign on PS3? How did it perform there?

So the usual ''Nintendo fans didn't buy the year old port so they get nothing'' third party deal.
kek, enjoy your Wii U 2
