Can we all agree the first Luigi's Mansion was way more better than Dark Moon? Seriously, even at some intervals the atmosphere was goddamn SPOOKY, even as an adult. Dark Moon was just a goddamn cartoon.
Not only that but the design of the mansion was bigger and better than anything else in Dark Moon, and just flowed better as a convincing haunted house.

I think Dark Moon was held back by being on a handheld. If development allowed for a constant experience instead of shorter mission based one, the multiple mansions setup would probably have been better.
I still think both are good, but the first has the luxury of building actual spookiness sometimes.

What are /v/'s thoughts on this?
Do you think it will be good?
Do you think there will be flaws with it being remade in the Paper Jam style?
Pros for me are:
>gameplay is pretty faithful
>Don't let the artstyle fool you, everything is 2D assets now
>Extra mode where you play as Bowser's minions
Cons:
>Some enemies, like the Troopeas and Hammer Brothers are given more generic designs. Not a game ruiner, but completely unnecessary.

It looks like they're going to end up sacrificing the old charm of the original by using Dream Team's look. Plus the botching of the spritework is a major turnoff for me. So much goofy stylization is lost, and now we just have generic Koopas, Hammer Bros., etc. It probably won't end up as well as the original.

Hey!, dudes! Cowabunga all!
My name's Marty and I just got back from the 90's in my Delorian. (...well, the professor made it for me... but I'm drivin' it!)
Upon arriving from my arduous 10-second trip, I pooped by some local gallerias, so as to catch up on some gaming... only to find that the place/s had been turned into corduroy jeans and sneakers super stores...
Somewhat crestfallen, I then decided to grab me one of those new fangled SUPER FAMICON home entertainment gaming devices... only to, again, find that none were available -- and that they had seemingly been replaced by some strange, video-disk-playing thingies, which functioned only as super high resolution FMV players...
Becoming discouraged, I nevertheless kept on trying to find some good olde, white knuckle, coin on the CRT monitor, balls to the arcade cabinet wall, fighting game goodness... but all I managed to come up with was (pic related):
What the fuck went so wrong and why hasn't the future turned out as rad as we, in the past, thought it would, /video games/...??
