Maybe people are just going there to spectate and play demo builds. EVO is like a mini-vacation if you don't have to compete.

And why would we get a game like this if trash like Shadow of War entertains the masses?

The true potential of Tolkien's work will never witnessed in a video game or even tv series for that matter.

Devs will never EVER make a world like this. Why? Because they're afraid of the backlash.

Those landscapes look pretty but they'd either have to be empty or put in some kind of annoying collectible scattered everywhere, not to mention traversing it would be a time-wasting nightmare without a mount or some kind of fast-travel, but if you implement the latter then people would complain it's just wasted space.

You have a weird idea of indie games
Are AAA games only graphically intense FPS, Sports and 3rd person stealth games to you?

Is this platform doomed to be niche because of it's DRM-free policy?
It never has big releases, unlike Steam, and you can only dream about titles like NieR, since those are published by SE who won't release anything on PC without Denuvo.
In my opinion it should at least be that, if the game has multiplayer or online elements, during download/installation you could choose if you wish to use them. If you do then Galaxy is required to run it, if you don't then you get an usual GOG downloaded copy.
What can CD Projekt do to make this platform more viable option over Steam?

>Is this platform doomed to be niche because of it's DRM-free policy?

Yes, basically.

Well not doomed, but it cant get any bigger and compete with Steam unless it has actually relevant games. Only as many times as you can buy Dungeon Keeper
>>
Don't really see anything wrong with being niche. Right now they're pretty much the sole supplier of older PC games, and the DRM-free policy is very consumer-friendly. I think Galaxy hasn't been in the market for very long, but can really become a legitimate Steam competitor with some more marketing. I think most people just aren't aware of Galaxy as an option, but, as a frequent user, I can say that it's a great alternative to Steam.
>>
I'd like to see way more japanese/eastern titles on GOG. There is even a rumor that CD Projekt hates weaboo games and this is why there is a lack of them on this platform.

greetings, dear denizens of /v/idya.

I recently got a job and therefore no longer live a broke grad student's life. I never owned a console, so to play the once-much-coveted ps3 exclusives I bought a ps3.

Alas, I discovered the hard way that it is almost impossible to find ps3 games if you live in a shithole 3rd world country. So I got a us-based psn account and bought shit like demon's souls there. the problem is, many games are "disc-only" so they arent sold there. I scoured the whole fucking metropolitan that I am living in and was not able to find a single unused physical copy of a ps3 game. There are some online vendors with a very limited collection though. But ofc you never know what you are gonna get from them, so here is my question:

where the fuck do you guys get your ps3 games? How can I get them? Thanks.

PS: piracy is not an option. Am a software engineer, dont want to steal from my colleagues.

How difficult would it be to mod this game from 640x480 to 1920x1080 without stretching anything, only expanding the window like in the pic to show more of the map?

>>382026596
Most likely not feasible without the source code.

Your best bet would be an open project to reimplement the game in its entirety.

So why does the Zelda series not make nearly as much money as the Mario and Pokemon franchise do? Is it just because Zelda is more of a console brand (Japan isn't too fond of consoles.) and/or more difficult to make? Does Zelda have more competition than Mario and Pokemon? Is it the result of the Zelda series needing more innovation to sell well than the Mario and Pokemon franchises?

You cant compare the unparalled accessibility and broad appeal of mario. Pokemon on the other hand is more like drugs. People who plays pokeman past their early teens will never leave.

Zelda games are more segmented as a series, and you can really like one of them while not being so keepn on the rest.
>>
>>382027983
>Zelda games are more segmented as a series, and you can really like one of them while not being so keepn on the rest.

So pretty much because there's a bigger difference between most mainline Zelda games than there is in Pokemon and Mario mainline games.
>>
The same reason why Metroid sells like shit in Japan.

Zelda is just too generic of an IP. It's all the same game essentially. Same applies to Metroid.

I mean think about it, BotW is the biggest shake up the series has had since Ocarina. That's almost 20 years. Shit becomes stale after awhile.

Meanwhile, look at Mario. The core concept is the same, but the execution is different in almost every game. Mario games are also more easily accessible, and more quirky/free from a design standpoint, so they're instantly more appealing.

Has anyone replayed this recently? Does it still hold up for you? When I first played it it immediately became one of my favorite games of all time but every time I think back to it nowadays I worry that I'd hate it if I replayed it with how much I despise open world games now and how disappointing both BotW and Zelda were.

All I can think back to with Red Dead was a lot of riding a horse through empty open plains and "towns" that had nothing to do in them. The story was cool but I struggle to remember what about RDR makes it a good open world game and not just as boring if not worse than the dozens of titles currently on the market.

Recently beat it again a few days ago actually. Absolutely holds up well. Solid gunplay, good characters, great music. Only thing that bothered me that i hadn't noticed before was the traveling that you do in the game/ But that gets filled with dialogue or you can use your camp to fast travel anyway.

My Xbox 360 shat itself a few years back now when I play this random props appear in the road three feet above the ground.

Other than that, the game is solid baller ass. Would play this over GTA V any day.

Plus, the second one looks cool so far. Cinematic trailers are good for hype I guess.
>>
The story is really slow, and has one of the most hand-holdy "the first five hours are a tutorial, deal with it" intros in all of video games. The game itself is fine but the story pacing and conventions have aged like sour milk.
