So, it's officially launched today, and I've been playing it for a bit. I played the original game and here's some of my thoughts:
>The level system is a change but, it gets kind of nice with replayable missions. Not to mention it means you don't spend so long grinding just to make sure head, minor, and major talismans are properly leveled
>Class system means jackshit, really. It's only annoying because if you want to have a weapon combo loadout that isn't part of the pre-made classes, you have to look for it through lootbags and such, which is determined by RNG
>Decks are apparently still a thing and now open to all factions with their own faction colored version of them, so you're not totally locked from that sweet gladiator look even if you're illuminati scum.
>RIP assloads of skills and skill-bar size. Shit's been casualized, but animations look nicer and admittedly, there were plenty of redundant skills. (Not that I care. Still mad we lost so many)
>Quests are pretty much unchanged that I can see so far. Moose's mission in solomon island now gives temporary skillbar instead of needing to hotkey items.
>Why the fuck are there so many currencies? We don't need so many currencies!
All in all, much as I can say I'm pissed at the changes, they were sadly inevitable because no one else (even me) gave enough of a shit about the game before it became Legends.
Also, I do at least hope the 'casualization' does extend to the 'barrier' end-game system that was more a pain in the ass than a challenge.

Well, combat moves a bit faster since it usually takes three or so hits to down an enemy your level with appropriate gear.
Thing is, it's kind of been dumbed down and half of a fight is spamming an AoE you basically start your character with.
I'm still early in, but I'm leaning towards "hasn't changed much"

Funny enough, Wheel of Time got a pretty decent game based on the setting (set something like 150 years before the Eye of the World). First person magic spells, relatively accurately modeled levels, and the multiplayer had some neat tower defense bits.
Only thing that caused it to not be a huge hit was that System Shock 2 dropped about a week before it.
