No. I can understand not wanting to have to go balls deep into mechanics just to make a game more enjoyable. Though really most 'RPG' games these days have really simple mechanics now. Anything based on DnD tends to have crazy shit. Also your picture just looks crazy but it's mostly just passives and that chart would sink pretty easily if you took them out.

Seriously, this has to be most overhyped memegame ever. It gets praised everywhere, won hundreds of awards and has been called best openworld rpg ever, despite the fact it's not openworld nor rpg.

>even dialog is mostly cutscenes, you rarely have any say in what geralt says to people
>combat is just bad, just spam signs and fast attack and you win everyone
>fov is just plain awful, and for some stupid reason NO FOV SLIDER

I can't even understand why is this always compared to Skyrim and other Bethesda games, when there is almost nothing similar. In Bethesda games you can kill almost anyone, do whatever you like and always create new character when you want. Witcher is more like Ubisofts Far Cry and Assassins Creed series, in both you have predesigned protagonist, can't harm anyone but enemies and have minor rpg elements.
Though it really isn't that bad game, it's solid 7/10, but definately not 10/10 like everyone says it is.

They're Tolkein-esque open world fantasy RPGs and Witcher has an uncanny amount of things that Skyrim does but better. Even its vikings, war setting, and vampire dlc are better despite the fact that two of these are supposed to be bigger deals in Skyrim.
I thought that I hated Skyrim because it was set a generic medieval fantasy world, but then I played Witcher and realized that the setting wasn't the problem but the execution.
Also. Yeah you can technically be more things in Skyrim but there's a reason people say "wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle. None of the roles you fill, from archmage, to imperial soldier, to leader of the Companions have as much depth to them in terms of choices you can make as being a Witcher does. Skyrim would have been better off just sticking to a handful of things and doing them more competently and the same is true of trading town quantity for size and for making NPCs more memorable even if it meant fewer of them. What makes Witcher standout is that there's not much of a trade off; it's both vaster than Skyrim and yet it has a ton of memorable NPCs and questlines. It had a bunch of small villages but it also has an absolute behemoth like Novigrad.

I just started about a month ago, and I'm almost through Season 1, and I love it.
The gameplay is very faithful to the original, and the ftp aspect of it all isn't terrible.

>Hawkwood is a character who explains plot and directional details to the player at the beginning of the game. He is intricately connected to one of the major bosses of the game - The Abyss Watchers - but is notably different in that he uses a shield and was looked down on for this. Throughout the early game he will give the player items depending on which boss they have killed. He can be encountered in two different places in firelink shrine and may also be summoned as a white phantom for co-op in places related to dragons. After defeating a succession of bosses Hawkwood will disappear from Firelink shrine and leave his shield to the player, however if the player collects the twinkling dragon torso stone he will leave a message with Andre the Blacksmith leading the player into a duel with him over his obsession with becoming a dragon. During the battle Hawkwood will use a greatsword as he has left his shield behind. When defeated by him the player loses the dragon torso stone but may get it back by returning to face him again.
Why did FROMSOFT take a step backwards with Dark Souls II? Did they forget it was a sequel to another game? Why does it seem like it's chronologically misplaced?

Can someone explain to me what's so bad about Neptunia? I haven't played it myself since the characters don't appeal to me, but I've been playing Fairy Fencer lately, and the gameplay, which I've heard is similar to Neptunia, in that is enjoyable.
