I don't want to play, but I want to know why you do. I have the Shadow Warrior version, so I've fucked around with viscera a couple times but I could never imagine going to my computer specifically to play it.

I can see why you wouldn't want to play it, but when you don't play with other people it can be quite fun

That's a honest opinion of someone who played both SS and BotW for the first time this very year. And no, neither was my first anything; I'd played all the main-series games.

The world and cast are just top-tier.

It's not. From OoT through SS they're all pretty much identical. You see them through fanboy eyes and imagine bigger differences than there are. Sure WW changed up the look and MM added a time element but the gameplay is nearly identical in all of them. Right down to the excessive handholding and puzzle types.

BotW is a great step in a better direction but even that is still lock on combat with the same weapon types and mild variation on the kidnapped princess plot.

I'm not calling it a bad series either. It's fun. But little changes overall. BotW stopped telling you exactly what to do every second and let you explore more but that says more about how stagnant the series had gotten than about how great the game is.

Linux + consoles/handhelds is the real master race. Now any game worth playing on PC supports Linux or and older games work well with wine. If a new game doesn't come to Linux odds are the PC version was an afterthought and it was designed for consoles anyway.

Your best bet is to pick up Dragons Dogma and play a game with some creativity involved, even at its best Dragon Age has the most creatively senile world, characters, dialogue and plot line.

DA:O has a great although siple plot, gives you options to customize your character. DA:II offers either a male/female human character only and has some of the worst dialogue/companion options plus your companions hate you if you don't sleep with them. DA: Inquisition is ok, very boring overworld with a ton of fetch quests. Kinda like a offline MMO.

I had to open my ps4 once to fix something and I would highly suggest using a compressed air can on your consoles. The amount of dust gets bad just sitting under your tv for years.

PS4, ps2, Xbox, Wii are all hooked up so I can play them whenever. Have some GameCube sitting around my room. That's all

I have mine stacked right now except for the couple I use. As soon as I get an apartment, I'm going to set it up so my 4k tv sits on a large unit with space for all my seventh and eighth gen consoles and my 37" Trinitron off to the side for the other 20 something consoles. So I can have all the consoles hooked up with a large av switch so I can pick anything off the shelf and play and not be put off by the hassle of hooking something up.
Of course these shelving units will have doors or something so people can't feel quick if they manage to make a celebacy joke.
