All the stuff about trannys and political bs aside, what on earth happened to GDQ? They've slowly become this soulless husk of an event where very little fun is allowed - it used to be more personal, a thing between friends, and we saw that reflected in the runs with all the banter and commentary therein. That's what made them so much fun to watch. Now it's this detached, almost corporate-esque event where audience participation is shunned, runners are held to stupidly high PC standards, and as a result we get 90% shit runs every year now. GDQ still turns in a few good runs every event, but it is nowhere near as entertaining, nor as consistent in quality as it used to be.
Nothing in recent years has come as close to capturing the community love that this run had:

Just watch this. Everyone's laughing, having fun, enjoying themselves, conversing with one another, commenting on the game in the typical wimsy manner; it's incredibly human and enjoyable to watch. Only the Bonesaw run (which he got in trouble for) can compete. Where did this go, and why?

I mean without going into politics. The even just became entirely too sanitized. I get their appealing to a wider audience, but the games themselves aren't always "appropriate" also what fucking family is watching speed running marathons? They also just fucked up a lot on the presentation. Muting the couch essentially, removing the crowd from the background. The long set up times. Hearing all the stupid donations and just in general becoming corporate.
