In my life up until now I have owned one gaming console, the gamecube and that I haven't used since the late 00's, but I've been bored recently and decided to buy an xbox 360.

What do you recommend for someone who has never played any 360 games? I will be playing them all by myself since everyone else my age seems to be a video game master and they'd leave me in the dust and I also prefer playing single player games. So far I've played one of the old COD games and found it boring and repetitive. The wind waker and starfox adventures were my favorite games on the gamecube.

Video game protagonists cannot be mary sues by nature of the medium. Their overall worth is not dictated by the writing behind them or the story they play a part in, but by how much the player enjoyed filling his or her shoes.

There are some cases, like Starkiller from Force Awakens, where the character can be a mary sue in the context of the multi-medium fictional universe they are inhabiting, but it has little bearing on the actual character and the player's enjoyment of them.

People give it more shit than it deserves. Prior to playing it myself I've seen people here say it's nothing like the prior games, which is downright bullshit. You can see they tried to make it as similar and loyal to the previous two games as possible with the given engine and I think they did pretty well in that regard. Hell, the cutscenes are in the same style as they were in the previous games, there's familiar voices (guards), and even familiar sound effects and shit like that. Stealth is pretty much the same as the previous games, different floors make different noises, staying in dark areas, meter at the bottom of the screen, etc.

I don't think the level design is as good as the first two games, but it's not terrible. The game has a hub which I personally got a little tired of.

Overall I don't think it's as good as the previous two games, you might like it.
