Your max potential starts out small, but as you grow ingame and with exp, the cap grows. How much it grows is completely dependent on your skill level and dedication to the game.
It could be adapted into any genre, but I'd prefer a fighting rpg with complex mechanics where the story progresses through ai(that are actually competent for once) fights that are scheduled at certian landmarks/checkpoints in the story as well as online fights with others near your skill level that could occur under a variety of circumstances.
