For starters, the engine is designed for PS4 and isn't optimized at all for the PC, the port is pretty lazy and infested with Denuvo to boot.
Secondly, Global Illumination absolutely tanks the performance, you can drastically reduce it with a mod which also happens to substantially improve performance.
RE5 didn't have global illumination.
Also RE5 was a corridor game with setpieces, Nier 2 is open world which is substantially more taxing on hardware.

it isnt, doesnt run that well even on OG ps4, engines today are designed with multiplatforms in mind.
It's just a case of platinum being incompetent as always when it comes to engine building first, and optimization later

It's very very good, but it's not quite super meat boy 2.
A lot of similar mechanics, a lot of new ones, but the big changes are the completely new movement and exploration styles.
Controls are now much more precise and less momentum based. They're still tight as shit and feel great, but in a different way. One big change is cornerhangs instead of walljumps.
Exploration is fluid, you travel between screens seamlessly and can find extra screens above/below/to the sides if you look for them.
It's an excellent game, and has a good bit more content than meatboy, but not a ridiculous amount more.
It's also a similar difficulty curve, so it might feel pretty easy for meat boy players until you get far enough in.

That's cool and all but you should check my 6.

Yes, its great. Lots of replayability, comfy setting , good use of time limit and godtier soundtrack. Its a hard game, so be patient for it.

2 and Off The Record are also reccomended. 3 is fun but lost all the charm. 4 is an abomination and leafs should be exterminated.
