I'll start with this Halo ODST match. Basically, it's the final round to get the Endure trophy. All of us die during the beginning of that round except the one Romeo player who had died like every fucking round up until this point
With a pinch of health, no ammo, and all skulls active, he literally solos the entire round, picking up weapons, expending their ammo to kill the enemy, picking their weapon up, using the 3 or 4 shots he gets with those, meleeing beserking enemies to recharge shields. I had to upload it and 7 years later and it's still one of the most amazing vidya performances I've seen

Why does Japan have so huge video game industry but China and even South Korea doesn't? Even some irrelevant country in Yurop like Poland and Finland has video game industry.

Because China has nearly non-existent copyright protection laws, meaning no one there can make any video game without the IP being instantly stolen by a bunch of scam artists trying to make a quick buck.
South Korea is just too small and is largely focused on electronics manufacturing, which is basically their entire contribution to worldwide industry of any kind.

So are they helping developing it? Asked them for help? Wanted their feedback? Cross promotion?
What are some modern games that will surprise me?
I'm not talking about the a game having some ebin plot twist, I'm talking about surprise from a gameplay/mechanical point of view. The vast majority of games seem incredibly derivative, it's as if developers have run out of ideas. A significant number of modern games are either remakes/ports, sequels or reboots and the majority of new games are just clones of popular games. The only new games that come close to being innovative are usually multiplayer games that end up merging two already existing concepts together and they lose their charm after you play them for about an hour. Quite frankly, I could have not played any new games for the last 5 years and I wouldn't be missing out on much. Games now look better and have larger worlds, but underneath they haven't really changed.

Actually it's a good example. Too ba my experince with the game was pretty shit, because I had one of "those" friends who got completely obsessed with the game constantly talking about it to me, spoiling shit left and right and just nagging me to play the game. It made me dislike the game more than I should have.
