Now the dust has settled lets admit it, this was a terrible game.
-Try hard gore kills for edgy tweens
-Pointless ammo limt and forced gore to replenish
- le super speedy run (i aint no mexican mouse)
-Uninspired time trials for new abilities
-Lame enemy variety. Only one version of each. Boooring
-Oh so cool nu-metal
-Pointless re-treading of levels for shiny toy blocks (oh whoooo get the yellow key card, now the red zzzzz
-Lame twist ending
-Oh robot Dr eveil pfft
Admit it, you're glad it sold like garbage. Doom belongs in the past, modern shooters like Woolfenstein are the future.

I think I finally understand why so many people dislike this game so much.
None of the "Cool" skills ever change as you level.

At max level you can summon the things you've been summoning this whole time for longer amounts of time. Woop de fucking doo.

More armor without wearing armor! Woo!
>Sneaking
Now you can be seen even less! (Even though at level 50 you've already become pretty much undetectable)
>Both of the Melee skills
Now your attacks paralyze people! Maybe! (What the fuck does that have to do with gaining higher knowledge of swinging shit at people!?)
Seriously. Even leveling up conjuration doing ONLY necromancy doesn't change anything. It just means you can raise a zombie permanently.

Is there such a thing as someone "bad at video games"? Or "good at video games"?
I mean, you can be bad/good at FPSses. You can be bad/good at Action RPGs. I can see people being bad/good at specific games or genres, but not "at video games" as a whole.
That's like being bad or good at every single possible sport, it just isn't possible. You should be able to play something at least moderately well/suck at something, right?

IIRC the original version had only one hitbox for character models, plus the game required a ridiculous amount of processing power and bandwidth to run properly.

To expand on that, as in the whole character model is one hitbox, so shooting the head did just as much damage as hitting a leg/center of mass, which pretty much made combat a shitfest.
