It's RE1: Straight Line edition. The game is just one long straight line with barely any deviation or multiple paths outside of the worst section in the game, and only slight backtracking.
It was made for people who've never played a good survival horror game

I'm not that big into the whole side scrolling brawler genre, but those are the big ones I usually hear mentioned. I also had fun with King of Dragons back in the day due to the whole leveling mechanic, but I admit that the D&D one and Dragon's Crown handled it better.

The best part of them are the multiplayer aspects, and outside Dragon's Crown or a few indie Steam titles, you don't really get online multiplayer with them.

All they had to do is make free-to-play grinding not such a fucking chore. I put 200 hours into this game and barely unlocked a fraction of the content. On that topic, every update added 'new' guns, 99% of which seemed to be just a version of a rifle or shotgun but they pressed 'randomize' on the stats.
